And yet again, another brilliant series the networks let slip through the cracks. I hate it when they get you hooked and then "leave you hangin" *sigh*

I liked Joan of Arcadia it was a different show.  Amber Tamblyn was good as Joan.  I wish that it would of at least got a third season, I hate it when a show gets cancelled and they have all these cliffhangers that will never be answered.

My parents especially liked this show, and I got into as well. It was really random the way they took it off the air. It kinda sucked that they did it that way.

Amber deserved that Golden Globe. This was the best new show on television as of February 2004 and went downhill so fast it made my head spin.

Very nice show about a teenage girl who gets visits from God asking her to do different tasks. God appears as regular people in all different forms, sometimes a man, woman, or even a child. she may get asked to be a cheerleader, or join the debate team, once she was asked to destroy a friends artwork, in the end she usually finds out why she was asked to do any of the tasks she was asked to do. Joan is a regular teenager with common problems that come with being a teen. she has a nice family one brother was partially paralyzed in an accident and they are also dealing with this. Well acted and written. a nice family show.

I would love this show for Amber Tamblyn or Jason Ritter alone. The second season suffered a bit, but still had merit. I want it to be renewed!

I very much enjoy this show and a lot of that comes from the fact that Amber Tamblyn is so good in the lead role. She makes you feel for her and with her in all the situations God puts her in. While I wish they would focus less on the dad's work (the police stuff is usually so routine) I think that the family life and what goes on in it is well done. Not a great show, but it has really solid potential to be a Friday night staple.

Its second season premiere shows that the ratings are dismally falling. It was a mediocre 5.9. I cant blame viewers for rapidly losing interest in this program. It is silly. I watched the season premiere and got only half-way through it before I switched to a Touched by an Angel rerun!

Uh this show is so stupid and has absoultly no meaning.Watching a show in religion class about a teenager who is like a prophet is boring.

After Touched By an Angel, this show makes a mockery of God. I can guarantee it won't be around as long as Touched was. Its an insult to my intelligence.

I have to give this show credit--it does have an upbeat tone (sometimes even a happy ending!) and a good cast (including the beautiful young woman who plays Joan), but the show itself is very boring. Even the twist of talking to God can't make this show break out of the reality-based plots that it so often involves. Where's the creative flair?

Didn't win a Golden Globe, but have fingers crossed for an Emmy. Best new show on CBS's 2003 lineup.

While I confess to not being the most religious person on earth, this is still a good, clean show for the family. The father may be the chief of police, but the show does not rely on excessive bloody violence or sex purely for the sake of sex. In spite of my love of CSI Miami, Without A Trace, and Survivor, this is still something I respect.

What a neat premise for a program. I really enjoy the subtlety of this program. The characters are all substantial characters in their own right and we aren't constantly looking for the reason for God showing up. I don't recall seeing the actress that plays Joan anywhere before, but kudo's to this young woman for her real portrayal of so many of today's youth. She is a 'typical' teenage who sometimes talks to her parents and sometimes is angry at them, she has mood swings, has trouble at school and with her friends, she is not perfect. Jason Ritter is spectacular in his character portrayal. Sometimes you just want to smack him! Everyone is great in this show, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone, no matter what age, creed or heritage.

This is a terrific new show. It's much more sophisticated than previous angel shows like Heaven Sent and Touched by an Angel. The things she's guided to do are small things and people's lives (and her own) are changed in small ways. The show is very unique and subtle and I enjoy that.

Next to Nip/Tuck it's the best drama of 2003. I like that it brings God into television without shoving any religion down our throats. Great cast especially Amber Tamblyn.

"Joan of Arcadia" is a refreshing, different show that hooked me right off the bat. I usually avoid shows with a religious theme, but "Joan of Arcadia" does not espouse a particular faith. It's more of a thoughtful, philosophical-type show that poses a number of interesting questions in a fresh, creative way. Joan, a pretty typical teen with a rebellious streak, hears God talking to her and telling her to do things she doesn't understand. The show revolves around Joan struggling with God's "orders" and her family, who includes a brother (played by John Ritter's son) paralyzed from a car accident, a mother who's doing her best to keep everyone on track, and a father who's the chief of police. There have been some interesting sub-plots concerning Joan's father, and they often connect in some way to what Joan is encountering. I look forward to watching the characters develop throughout the season, and I hope the show is renewed for next year.
