I was quoted a price online and given another price at the office. I was charged for services I did not request and the representative on the phone was very rude!!! You have lost a customer for life!!! I will never rent from FOX again!!!

The cars were clean and in good operating condition for my 2 Fox rentals but eveyrthing else about my experience was negative. I purchased a full tank of gas only to find the tank was closer to 3/4 full on the gauge. The attendant made it very difficult to resolve the problem. The waits in line at the rental desks were long. Their printer was down adding to the wait. Worst of all, Fox charged me for 2 options I turned down to their agents at the desk, loss damage waver and roadside assistance. I was given the run around when I complained about the charge when returning the car. I could not get through by phone to complain despite multiple tries. This is the first time I have ever rated a business poorly but I feel I was taken advantage of by Fox and would never use them again no matter how low their price was.

I too have experienced the same case like that, when I rented a car rental. And it is really beyond my expectations! This is my first time using a car rental service. I was struck penalty just because the car is returned late, so only a few minutes I was late. Finally, I thought, how do I find a rental car famous and really good in administration.

I had a horrible experience with Fox Rental Car. I usually rent with Enterprise; I compared prices at Southwest and found that Fox beat all of the bog name companies by half the price. I did not have any difficulties finding your shuttle and your shuttle employees were helpful and courteous. When I arrived at the rental car center on November 14, 2012, I waited 30 minutes in line. It was a busy day, so I completely understand. I first met with Ali, he was very professional. I am from Texas, when he tried to run my card; it did not go through. I called my company and straightened it up. I was then pushed down to Mark. Mark insisted that the insurance was REQUIRED. I asked him to clarify on 3 or 4 occasions. I referred to the poster referring to insurance and he still stated that it was required by Florida state law. I am from Texas, I never opt for optional coverage because my car insurance covers. I informed him of this and he still insisted. He reviewed the options, I tol... Read more

Recently we rented from Fox Rent a Car in Phoenix. Our experience with them was very positive. There was not a long wait to rent the car, and although the agent tried to sell my husband a variety of extras and add-ons, a firm "no" was accepted. We proceeded to the pick-up point, and again there was no problem. We rented a mid-size car and were pleasantly surprised to find a brand new Hyundai Elantra waiting for us. The price was exactly what I had booked the car for, and although there was a $100 deposit, it was refunded when we turned the car in. I would recommend Fox in Phoenix to anyone going there.

Beware of cheap rates, there is always a catch! When we arrived at their Pheniox Airport location the front desk clerk told us the car we had reserved 30 days in advance was not avaliable. Instead the clerk told us they had a upgrade car avaliable if we would like to pay a little more $. If we didn't want the upgrade we would have to wait until the type of car we reserved was avaliable. Then came the pressure and scare tactics to buy their insurance for more $$. I decide to pass on this expense. What a mistake and a scam this turned out to be. When I returned the car the first thing the attendant wanted to know was, did we purchase their insurance. Once I told him no, he took off to examine the car and returned within a few minutes. This is when the situation got ugly. The attendent told me that there was a scratch on the rim. Really! I asked if I could see the scratch and he told me the car had just been taken out to be washed. After several forms I had to fill out stating no dam... Read more

My husband is disabled and must use a mobility scooter to travel. When he arrived at Denver Int'l Airport July 31st at 10:30 PM with our daughter and her baby, the bus provided to take customers from the airport to the car rental agency did not have a wheelchair lift, and the driver expected my husband to lift his own scooter onto the bus. This company is out of compliance with the Federal ADA law which was enacted by Congress in 1990. If my husband was able to lift his own scooter, then he wouldn't need to use a mobility scooter at all. To expect him to lift it onto the bus was ridiculous. My daughter had to leave my husband at the airport while she and her baby took the bus to the car rental office, rented the car, and then had to go back to the airport to pick up my husband. By the time everything was completed, they arrived at their lodgings about 12:30 AM Wed Aug 1st. On the day we left to come home from Denver, we couldn't count on this company having a bus with a wheelchair li... Read more

Beware........Rented a van on line with FOX. Thought I had a good price. Then because I had a question, I called customer service. The phone rang for 15 minutes, but no one answered. Tried to call again the next day, and again it rang and rang without an answer. So, I did some on line investigation, and finally found the phone number for the Denver office. It also showed a picture of Jack Tomson, the manager. Attempted to call the office, but was put back into the music of the customer service line, which never answered. I then tried the Lost and Found option. It answer with a recording stating leave a message and we will call back within 24 hours. Now, that's a bummer if you just left something in a car you've returned, you're attempting to see if it's been found, your flight leaves in one hour, and Fox promises [?] to call back tomorrow. So, I call the Denver Office again, and after 5-10 minutes, a girl answers and states she is in Los Angeles, as all calls to the Denver office are r... Read more

Before we rented from Fox, we checked this board. They received a lot of mixed reviews. It made us a bit nervous. I rent through Hertz for work a few times a month so I am use to President's Gold club service. But Hertz charges more for a Corrola than Fox does for an Impala, about $160 a week. So, I took the chance. I am glad we did. Sure, the two shuttle hop can be a pain with luggage. But the car, the rate and the employees were all up to the standard of Hertz. They did try and sell us the lost damage waiver, but were happy to remove it when I declined the coverage. The shuttle drive gave us excellent directions to our destination and the inhouse price for pre-paid fuel was $.40 cheaper than the local rate. Maybe we got lucky. Maybe I am a seasoned rental car customer aan know what to ask for and know how to have rational conversations with service agents. I didn't see any of the customer gouging that other have reported here. Nothing is free and everything is negociable.

Recently rented a car in Phoenix. Process at pick up was disruptive at best. All the employees were fooling around. When asked about the optional coverages, I said I declined as I am covered by my own insurance. Clerk said initial here...I did without reading what I initialed for...HUGE MISTAKE!!! When returning the car, I was given a receipt with a total bill much higher than I thought I signed for. I was told that I agreed to pay for the optional coverage. They showed me a copy of the agreement. Sure enough...I initialed for the optional coverage without realizing it. I asked to see the manager. I was then told that he was at lunch and might not be back for a "couple of hours."(wish I had that job) I insisted on speaking with him on the phone as I had to catch a flight. After a whole lot of attitude by the counter clerk, she reached him. It was obvious that his lunch was more important than the customer. His attitude was, at best, obnoxious. He did come back to the rental agency as I... Read more

The car they rented blew the oil cap. Instead of driving it until it seized up, I brought it to another location for exchange. They messed up the paper work and charged me $56.57 extra for my trouble, and refused to change the mistake when I pointed it out, never returning my call and then turning it over to a collection agency when the credit card company sided with me. Absolutely outrageous. I will never rent with Fox again. I don't blame them that something went wrong with the car. Things happen. A good company addresses problems when they come up. Instead, Fox made a bad situation horribly worse. Way to go.

Rented a car In Phoenix, AZ in Nov 2011. Left my iphone in the car when I checked it in. Went back to retrieve the phone. The car was moved and readied for another rental. The phone was not in the car. When the employees were queried, no one saw the phone. My conclusion: a Fox employee stole the phone. Your conclusion:???. No response from "lost and found." No response from customer service. No response from corporate office. Crappy company. Dishonest employees. Could I give a zero?

I needed a rental for prom night but these other places where trying to charge me an arm and leg for what I wanted. Thankfully I was able to find out about Fox Rental Car online. They hooked me up with exactly what I wanted and they turned out to be the lowest rate I was able to find. So the good news is I didn’t go broke on this rental and still had enough dough left over for my prom date :). Thanks guys

If you report leaving something in the car you rent, they say they will respond in 24 hours. It is now 72 hours later and still no call. They were nice however to let me pick out a different car class than I rented because of the car smelling like cigarette smoke. This was at the LAX place.

I recently rented a car from Fox rent-a-car in Cabo, Mexico. The rental was for 7 days at for $49 usd and I had a $10usd off coupon, for a total of $39! Great price right? I thought so until I got to Mexico and found out that the “optional insurance” was not optional at all! I have coverage for rental cars with my own insurance and with my American Express so I never buy the rental car insurance from the rental car places themselves. I was unaware that Mexico Fox rent-a-car made you buy their insurance, if you didn’t, they wouldn’t let you take the car! I asked them to show me in writing that I had to get their insurance and they had to look it up because they didn’t have anything upfront. I don’t mind buying the insurance if it’s a law for that particular Country as long as it’s stated upfront. The insurance was over double the rental price, adding $100 to the rental price!!! A few dollars ok but over $100 is not ok!!!

I want to first say, I now know why Gov. Schwarzenegger made the law that you cannot drive and talk on your cell phone in California. Those people are crazy drivers. If I were driving my motorcycle out there I think I would have taken side streets. I rented a car from the LAX fox rent a car because I needed to pick up some family that flew into LAX (just couldn’t do it on my motorcycle) – quickest service I have ever experienced. Walked in, waited behind 2 people, gave my name and info and the lady behind the counter sent me to pick up the car. Smooth and simple, will be renting from them again if my family comes to visit again.

THE RENTAL CAR FROM HELL!!! I CAN'T EVEN GIVE ONE STAR TO FOX--- BURBANK CA. I HAVE BEEN RENTING CARS FOR YEARS IN SEVERAL STATES AND THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. FIRST THEY TRIED TO FORCE THEIR INSURANCE ON ME, THEN THEY GAVE ME A DIRTY, SMELLY CAR AND WHEN I SAID I DIDN'T WANT IT THEY SAID THEY ONLY HAD AN UPGRADE AND CHARGED ME. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK THEY SAID I WAS LATE AND THEY CHARGED ME A LATE FEE, EVEN THOUGH I WAS WITHIN THE STATED (ON THE CONTRACT) TIME---THEY SAID I DROVE IT AWAY EARLY. THEN THEY SAID THERE WERE 2 SCRATCHES I WAS LIABLE FOR (I SAW THEM, AND THEY WERE LESS THAN 2 INCHES LONG AND NOT DEEP) THEY SAID IF I DIDN'T SIGN A REPORT THEY WOULD KEEP CHARGING ME, WITH THEIR HOURLY RATE, UNTIL I SIGNED. ONE WEEK LATER THEY CALLED WITH A CLAIM FOR REPAIRS---$689.00--FROM A SHOP WHICH OPERATES OUT OF THE SAME BUILDING AS THEIR MAIN OFFICE. I TRIED TO FILE A COMPLAINT BY PHONE, EMAIL, BUT THEY REFUSED TO ANSWER OR REPLY( 3 EMAILS). I FILED WI... Read more

I booked a car in Los Angeles, first when we got to the office - there were around 40 people waiting in line and only 3 reps from fox rental car, big line outside the door! an hour later when we finally got to the representative, he told us about rental options, I have booked a ford fusion as a mid class car for $139 for 7 days which end up being small kia, the rep told us to upgrade! so for $239 we got a dodge charger, the car stunk like cigarets and had a problem with the transmission. So we left the place driving to the hotel, trying to lock the car and the remote does not work?! after pressing 50 times the lock button it finally locked, next day can not open the car, tried to call fox rental car and was on hold for over an hour when finally a local guy showed me how to the the key out of the remote and manually lock and unlock the car, driving in the evening and we had to pull over and pay $20 at a local car wash to wash windows on the inside because the washing guys at fox cle... When our meeting was over at 4 we had the rest of our Saturday night in Los Angeles. We drove around for a while and finally stopped at Hully Gully in Downey for a few drinks. This labor day weekend we rented a car with Fox rent a car from Seattle Tacoma Airport location. Needless to say it started off as the cheapest rental price among all others and as we are based out of Seattle we thought how can a rental car company service could really make a difference. Certainly we were wrong. The agent offerred us an upgrade for extra $120 bucks and we agreed with that. Due to traffic we returned around 1.5 hours later than scheduled and then the true colors of Fox Rent a Car showed up. 1.) They charged us $150 dollar extra which was one whole day + fine for returning later. Btw, this later was like 10pm instead of 8:30pm on Monday night when they were about to close so no one was really going to take the car. 2.) I was redirected to call the mgmt next day which I did and I could not find a more rude person who started off with "you signed the contract, you should had read it, it is your problem etc" 3) I called customer service to complain about the manager rud... I have been a customer of Fox Rent A Car for almost 2 Weeks. I have run into SEVERAL unpleasant experiences!!! I am now on my 4th car and unlike Thrifty Car Rentals, when I extended my contract I am NOW BEING CHARGED $10 EXTRA!! Whereas Thrifty would have changed my rate from Daily to Weekly (or monthly depending on how long I kept the car. Also My 1st car, Chevy Malibu, the breaks were bad and it needed an oil change, I "Swapped" for a Camaro, and had problems putting a last min car seat in the back so came back to "swap" for a full size car (the original booked car) and there was nothing but PREMIUM or LUXURY cars on the lot... NOT WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!! I ended up waiting 2 hours (one employee even stated that they had gone to lunch came back and I was still standing in the lot!!!) I left with a Chrysler 300, I went around the block when I noticed the gas tank was HALF A TANK!! I'm expected to bring it back on full, I expect to receive it on full. While I was happy with the car we received, they did not have it ready for us when we arrived. We were asked to change to another vehicle, and we declined due to our not wanting to drive a minivan. When they finally cleaned and gave us our car we left. Upon checking in after 11 days, we were told the system was down and they could not print out a checkin slip. The car was checked in manually as fine and full of gas...now 5 days later there is a charge on our credit card for another $140.00 that is unexplained. This is being disputed and will not be paid by my credit card company...but it is clear from many of the revies below, this is standard practice for this company. We will be using another car rental company in the future!!!!

Fox Rent A Car – at the Denver International Airport. A truly MISERABLE rental experience! The check out process was longest I've ever had, and it just got worse from there. The car we were given was just filthy. Something sticky had been spilled all over the console, we complained and the Fox employee did not care at all. We booked the car online and the whole bill including tax was $279.38 (the tax included in this was $79.00) – but when we returned the car they added on another $130.00 on top of that, saying it was taxes. A Total Rip off!!! We did dispute it but the crooked manager just kept saying there was nothing we could about it, he was charging it to our credit card anyway. We had a plane to catch and after about 30 minutes we gave up. There were also two other angry customers returning their cars. One man was bringing back his 2nd car in a row that had had mechanical issues, at first they told him he could not trade the car in, then they were trying to charge him for a... Read more

Cheap is not the most inexpensive. Had to wait for a half hour while they filled the car with gas and washed the car. But, the best is yet to come. They entered the incorrect contract number for return. Two days later they started calling asking when we were going to return the car. Called and explained they entered the incorrect contract number on voice mail. Next day same scenario. Next day same scenario. Called their 800 number. Agent stated car was returned as we stated but must call someone else that won't answer the phone or listen to their voice mail. Finally reached a human, told it was returned. Before explaining further she stated I will call you back and hung up. Never called back. Now have to disputed the extra $92 charge they placed on my credit card. Not worth the time or effort. These folks are not rude -- just indifferent and incapable of communicating.

If you read the reviews here carefully, there's a high chance that many of the very positive ones for this company are fake. They are worded in the way that someone who does PR would word it, that is, the unsuccessful attempt to sound sincere. "I heard from friends and family...." "This is just what I want in a rental car company...." Real people don't talk like that; commercials talk like that. Real people don't actively say 'they gave us a nice clean car' because one assumes the car will be clean; real people only mention if it was dirty, not that it was clean. Companies hire people to get into internet sites and talk up their products in a way that sounds like it's just a satisfied customer. Real consumers, beware!

There is nothing worse than going on a trip or vacation of any sort and having to deal with a rude car rental company. That can definitely ruin any good vacation. That’s why when I need a rental for a vacation or a business trip I try to do some heavy research beforehand about rental companies in the area I’m visiting. Getting a good rate on a car is very important to me because I don’t like to spend an arm and a leg just for having to rent a vehicle. So, during my research I check rates and read tons of reviews about customer service. I have recently stumbled upon Fox Car Rental and their rates look great. I am going to give this company a shot.

A friend of mine recently referred to me Fox Car Rental. I have read several reviews over them and they seem to get some good and bad reviews. So, I checked some other car rental companies as well and they all seem to get bad reviews. After checking into Fox Car Rental a little further I have been seeing more reviews like this one, “My family and i just got back from a trip to Orlando where I had rented a car from Fox Car Rental. We were very happy with this, and i didnt experience any issues with the car. They were nice, affordable and convenient.” Posted by Kathy497. So based on my friend’s recommendation and reviews like that I’m going to use them for my next rental.

Finding a rental for a family vacation has proved to be very difficult. However, I have stumpled across Fox Car Rental and have been reading reviews like this one, “I rented a Van from Fox Rent a Car to take my family to DisneyLand. They provided good customer service, and the best part was the great rate. I didn't want to use the company car to drive to Disney, plus we took the grand kids, so this was the best way to go. The van was roomy, and we were able to pop in a movie for the kids. It made for a nice relaxing drive!” – Posted by Jim Conner. I picked up a Jeep 4x4 Unlimited soft top from Fox Rent A Car in Los Angeles. They had my reservation (which I reserved 4 months in advance of my trip) and my car was ready upon my arrival. I dropped the Jeep off in Seattle, and had no problems at all. I had unlimited mileage and the rate was 1/2 the cost of a typical larger chain rental agency. I was anticipating encountering hassles based on some reviews, but I can't believe how easy Fox made it to pick up in one location and drop off in another. Thanks Fox, the Jeep was great!

Reading reviews like this one “After doing some research while trying to find a car rental company, I found that Fox Rent A Car offers some of the best rates out there. Fox not only has good customer service, but the rates are better than most of the companies out there. Some by almost $10 a day.” Posted by Frank 8967 is the reason why I’m going to rent from Fox. Of course there are bad reviews as well, but that is with any company or anything in general that you can write a review over. Fox Car Rental seems to offer great rates and service. That is exactly what people, myself included, look for when renting a car. That’s why I’m going with Fox.

Picked up the car May 26th, 2011 in Denver we rented a car for a ten day trip eventually dropping the car in Salt Lake City. The rate was GREAT compared to the other rental companies. Ten minute wait for the shuttle bus and maybe 10-15 minutes on line at the rental office. Unless you are a Gold Card member with Hertz you are going to have the same wait. Standard car rental paperwork. Gas arrangement better than most. Cheap up front per gallon charge for a fill up and you can return the car with only fumes left. They upgraded to a 2011 Toyota Camry for an additional $100. Car was clean and ran trouble free. Dropped off the car at a location outside the airport but was in the Salt Lake airport within 15 minutes. We covered over 1700 miles on the trip and it was a very good car rental experience. Considering we saved between $600 - $900 over the other companies the experience was Great. Will recommend Fox Car Rental at every opportunity and will very definitely use them for my per... It wasn't dirty and really used looking which is always great for clients. I was pleasantly surpised!” Fox seems to be a great choice. Good rates and good service. Just what I’m looking for.

Recently I was looking to rent a car, and someone told me about Fox Car Rental. I was hesitant because in the past i have heard some things about them, but my girlfriend insisted that it was a good company with good rates. She was right. After doing some research with 3 different rental companies, Fox Car Rental had the best rates around. I will be using them for my upcoming vacation!

I rented a Van from Fox Rent A Car to take my family to DisneyLand. They provided good customer service, and the best part was the great rate. I didn't want to use the company car to drive to Disney, plus we took the grand kids, so this was the best way to go. The van was roomy, and we were able to pop in a movie for the kids. It made for a nice relaxing drive!

After doing some research while trying to find a car rental company, I found that Fox Rent A Car offers some of the best rates out there. Fox not only has good customer service, but the rates are better than most of the companies out there. Some by almost $10 a day. I am definitely going to use Fox Rent a Car when i plan my next road trip in August!

I recently had a friend come into town and needed to rent a car. I offered them some suggestions of car places and she ended up choosing Fox Car Rental. I had never used Fox before but she always had because of the great rates. The convertible she got was great and we enjoyed every second of it!

AVOID THEM. They are liar and murderer. I rented a 4x4 vehicle online. When I pick up my vehicle at their LA Airport facility, they gave me a regular front wheel drive (2x4) SUV. I asked the customer representative for many times if he could confirm the vehicle he is giving to me is a 4x4 because we are going to a snowy mountain. The customer representative insisted it's a 4x4. We asked another customer rep. at the check-out booth before we leave the facility; the rep. insisted it's a 4x4. By trusting both of the reps, we went to a snowy mountain and sure enough we got stuck and almost got us into an accident and might injure or kill all of us. After returning the car to the company, I wrote a detail letter to the manager and have my credit card company contacted them to dispute the charges. Not only they did not offer an apology, they don't even response to us. My credit card company approved the dispute. I thought I’m being kind by just let it go without asking an apology. Fe... One and One -half hour wait just to rent a car with a prior reservation. At least 20 plus customers ahead of us. Rate is cheap on american express travel web site but with all the different charges and taxes that they come up with (not including no insurance purchase) the rates are the same as other major car rental companies. Never ever rent from these guys. Who wants to start a vacation by waiting for a car rental for 1.5hrs especially when we made an online reservation 3 weeks ahead of time.

I haven't had much experience with having to rent a car, but based on friends and family, they have told me that Fox Rent a Car is a good company to go with because they are reasonably priced, and have a good choice of different size cars to choose from. My brother in law recently had to rent a car for his friend coming in town. When i saw him at the family party, he raved about the great price he got from an ad he saw in the paper which is why he chose them in the first place. I would definitely be willing to rent a car from them if i ever needed to.
