I have one of these at home.Hitting it actually simulates an actual impact with an opponent quite well in terms of weight.I like being able to adjust the height to train techniques against opponents of varying heights. The only thing I don't like is that I can't train roundhouse kicks to the leg.

Just starting to use Bob. The set up was painful - pouring in 250lbs of sand was not easy and may challenge your back before you even start hitting Bob. So far holding up well.

After decades of punching air in my Katas, I finally have someone to hit!! Seriously though this is one of the best training aids imaginable if you train by yourself. There is however, room for further improvement. When filled with water, the Bob will not stand solidly with a hard puch and will fall back with a strong back kick to the abdomen.Having it on top of a carpeted surface makes it even more wobbly and a flat cement surface makes it skid. The torso-to-base junction has a 1/2" gap that also needs attention. I inserted several small wedges around the base to make up for what is basically a plastic molding issue. The body material is excellent and durable and the closest thing to hitting a real person. Also the height setting makes you aware of how much flexibility you need (and in my case don't have) to hit head kicks without a stretch (typical street fight /defense situation). I was fortunate to have bought this at amazon for 278 dollars (delivered). Prices fluctuate daily and I spend a long time waiting before I could get it at this level. I would really recommend this product !!!!!

That was my worse internet shopping experience in my life. 3 times they tried to deliver my merchandise to me, and I never received it. Finaly I cencelled my order, end I didn't get my money back yet.

If you like to work out and need to get out some aggression than this thing is perfect for you! I had to buy some gloves as it was hurting my hands to punch with bare hands. The only problem I have is that it is currently filled with water and on carpet it's just not heavy enough so "Bob" keeps trying to escape from me into the corner! It's great though...makes my workout more fun.

I didn't give this a 5 only because it doesn't hold enough water weight to stand still, but most free standing bags don't. Other than that the 6 height adjustments are great to practice different angling of techniques for different heights of opponents. And of course having a throat, face, ribs, solar plexus, etc. is excellent for practicing techniques, especially for martial arts like kenpo and wing chun. If you shop around you can probably find it closer to $200, but up to $300 is worth it if you're serious about training.
