After suffering for lack of sleep for months, I'm glad I found it at www.medsheaven.com! When I do take this medication. It works very well. No known side effects.

I have sleep rhythm problems related to Bipolar Disorder and I took 20-30 mg of Ambien every night for about 5 years to help me sleep. At first, I was very impressed: it put me to sleep within 15 minutes and I was out all night without grogginess the next day. I enjoyed the high feeling because it reduced my stress after a long day. Over time though I developed a tolerance to it and I needed to take more and had to wait longer for it to take effect. When Ambien did not put me to sleep within 30 minutes, I would start acting strangely and the high feeling was definitely not so fun. I would get hungry, I had a definite increase in sex drive, I would easily become very emotional and I'd do weird stuff like take walks outside at 2 am in my pajamas and call people late at night I hadn't spoken to in months. Once I was convinced there was a ghost in my kitchen and I don't even believe in ghosts. Sometimes it would give me vivid nightmares. I would usually wake up with little or no memory o... Read more

Ambien has been a miracle for me - a blessing from above. I won't go into my whole story, but I suffered from anxiety-induced insomnia that nearly paralyzed me. Ambien - regular Ambien not Ambien CR - saved me. I sleep like a baby every single night, and have been now for years. And now it's even generic and is cheap as hell! After several years, I have never deveoped a tolerance to it, and have Not had to steadily increase my dose over time. In fact, I need less now than I used to (treating the underlying anxiety was also very very beneficial). Today, I take anywhere between 5 and 20mg per night - depending on the night - depending on what I need. Usually it's about 10mg average. (Some when I first go to bed, and some later in the night if needed - sometimes I do / sometimes I don't). But for the most part, once it puts me to sleep, even if I wake up in the middle of the night, which I usually do, I fall back to sleep quite easily. If you are sleep deprived, do not let anyo... It is okay but didn't really do the trick. I would still not sleep deep and would still have problems going to sleep. But it did help some.

ambien works eventually. for me it takes a long long time. I typically stay up and watch a movie or play on the computer after taking it. after about an hour you start feeling almost drunk. but you usually don't notice that till you get up to get something to eat. Oh did i mention it's a great way to gain weight! um, anyway, yeah two hours later you're sleepy and sometime after that it's blackout mode. you're start to remember things that you forgot you did....Like this cup of coffee I apparently had to have last night. So I guess if you where responsible enough to take the medication, lay in bed with an audio book you would be fine if you can fight the urge to get a snack. Don't be out of bed at all, because that's when you can wonder, and sleep walk. the ambien is telling you to sleep, but your mind is still going a mile a minute. and the ambien almost thinks by putting ideas in your mind that would make you sleeply, like a turkey sandwich, or a bottle of beer. In the mo... Read more

It really works to put you to sleep, but it knocks you out and you feel tired and groggy the next morning.

Ambien helped me a lot. I was getting 2-4 hours of sleep without ambien. With ambien I could sleep again. I took it for 3 months everyday. The only problem was that I was dependent on it and I did not feel comfortable sleeping without it. But i wasn't sleeping well before I took ambien so I am not really sure how big of a problem that is. I don't need ambien anymore though and i am very happy to be off ambien and be sleeping normally again.

I was prescribed Ambien because I was having some trouble falling asleep during my chemotherapy cycles. I took Ambien several times, and it was usually effective helping me to fall asleep. However, I never slept a full night on the drug, usually waking up and feeling restless at about 4 or 5 AM. Thats after taking the drug at 11 or 12. So it didn't give me a full night's rest. After taking Ambien for several consecutive days, I stopped taking it. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep for two nights straight and was extremely restless in bed. I couldn't stand how it made me feel when I stopped taking it, and I'm not the type of person to rely on drugs long term. I know very productive people who swear by it, but I definitely didn't find it worth it for me.

This stuff made me hallucinate like mad! That is why on the directions it says take right before you close your eyes and are already in bed! The positive things about it is that the next day you feel normal not hungover at all. When I have taken it in times past I ended up breaking a 10mg tab into little pieced because this stuff is strong..I saw the tv floating..bugs crawling on my arms..some people love this and it helps them a great deal..I still feel a little skiddish about taking this.

I couldn't sleep because of panic attacks. I tried taking Benedryl, then Ativan, then Xanax. Nothing worked. I continued to stay awake all night and day. Then the doctor gave me Ambien. It worked liked a dream. I fell asleep within a half hour of taking it and slept uninterrupted for 12 hours. I didn't feel drowsy or hungover at all. It's amazing, but should only be used to treat insomnia IMO. Also, don't take it unless you have at least 8-12 hours reserved for sleep.

this drug can potentially influence people to do things without knowing it, ultimately having them put themselves in very dangerous and fetal positions. please choose your drugs carefully and take precautions. If there are strange scary reviews, it's obviously telling you that it's not a safe drug!

I have been taking this godsend of a sleep aid for several years!  It is nice to be able to sleep through the night.  My family tells me how weird I act when under the influence, but it feels great!  My big concern is that my appetite increases when I take it and I don't remember any of  it the next day.  Sometimes I don't take it because I will need to be up in a few hours and without it I have the strangest dreams.  Okay, I am dependant on it but the other alternatives are not good.  Rozerem  makes my groggy the next day.

This stuff is kind of scary. I took it the first night i was prescribed it, I took it then went to watch tv, 15 min after I was very very tired, then about 20 min everything was blurry and I couldnt read the TV. About 30 min after taking it i started to feel very dizzy and I felt like I was tiny and in a cave. There was a dark blanket at the end of my couch and I thought it was the opening of the cave. My father was watching tv with me and he said I looked so confused. He told me to go to bed and I tryed to get off the couch but I couldnt use my legs. I was swinging them trying to get up and I couldnt. When i finally did get up I went to the bathroom and threw up a ton. After that I went to my room, and thats all I remember unitl 4AM when I woke up and couldnt get back to sleep for the rest of the morning. It was pretty scary! My cousin also took this pill and she ended up in the ER because she saw people and wouldnt stop screaming! So, I guess if you like that kind of thing, go for it... Read more

Well, I have been on Ambien for about 1.5 years. I started on Sonata, but became so used to it, it didn't work. My doctor prescribed me Ambien and I loved it. It worked so well at first, I was falling asleep fast (along with having a little fun with my family, because i'd basically just start talking about NOTHING and never stop, and i'd make up weird stories), and I would wake up completely refreshed. I am now at 15 mg every night and I can't not take them, I have become so dependent on them, that I am too scared to stop taking them, afraid I will not get sleep and lose my job or something. They worked great, but now have become such a hazard to me, that I dont know what to do. I recommend just taking them for a short period of time, and regardless of the "fun" effect they have, DON't over abuse them.

Ambien is GREAT for those who need occasional help sleeping (also good for your sex life as it lowers inhibitions). Just make sure that you are in the bed within 15 minutes of taking it to avoid doing things that you won't remember the next day. Ambien CR seems to be the best of the 3 Ambien doses available!

not being very experienced with drugs in general, I'd have to say for me this drug worked fabulously. I took it at work and had a mostly happy day. Although I did get a bit paranoid and apparently I went out to lunch with some colleagues and ordered waffles with jam for lunch... which I have absolutly no recollection of, which is fine with me to be honest. Although I do wonder if I ended up paying for the said waffles because later I checked my wallet and I had much less money than I had remembered. All in all, Ambien does it's job.

Ambien is the greatest creation man has come up with. I have been taking it for five years. Yes, five years, which is 250 or so times the recommended time period. I have never had insomnia, but I was having trouble sleeping for a few days and so I told my doctor. He gave me Ambien and I have to say it didn't knock me out, but just made me feel better. When I first started taking it I really enjoyed the euphoric and strange feelings. After taking it for about 1 month the strange feelings went away and the euphoric feelings calmed down to a nice feeling that just put me in a better mood, not severely altering me. I am now taking somewhere around 20 to 30mg a day at multiple times throughout the day, not just at night, sometimes in the morning. It has absolutely no sleepiness effects, just functions like the best antidepressant/anti-anxiety drug that ever existed. Ambien has improved my waking life dramatically, I am not as shy when taking it and I just feel 100 times better. ... Read more

I took a 10 MG, and I had an INSANE hallucination! It's strange, because drugs don't usually have an especially strong impact on me. Anyway, I took it at my friend's house, and I fell asleep while watching the beginning of a movie (I put my head down on a table.) My friend woke me up so that I could sleep in his room, and I started wobbling through the hallways. I had no balance. I would walk into the wall to my left, then stagger into the wall to my right. I saw my friend twice, except his clone looked slightly different. I couldn't tell which one was him for a minute. Also, I saw his dog twice, and one was following the other. I saw people sitting on chairs on the wall, defying gravity. People were all over the place. I finally entered my friend's room and fell asleep again. On another occasion, I decided to take ambien again, because I figured the hallucination was only caused because I was woken up and had to move around (I never wake up in the middle of the night, so I... I am 34 years old, married with 3 children. I began having sleep difficulties after the birth of my 3rd child and it went on for months. My Dr. then prescibed me Ambien which he said was totally safe and non habit forming. Well... 2 and a half years later I have been taking it 6 out of 7 nights a week if not more. Besides the fact that I hated how dependent I became on this drug...I wanted to be off if it because we want to have another child. It has been several weeks now and I am just miserable. I can not fall asleep until 2 or 3am and don't stay asleep and have to be up at 7am. And that is on a good night! I have even been taking the Tylenol PM too often! This medication IS addictive in that it works... and who doesn't want to sleep... right?? I am recommending that you do NOT want to begin using Ambien unless you are prepared to get hooked. Best of luck to you. I am making an appt. with a sleep lab.

Ambien is fast acting. Within 5-10 minutes you're extremely drowsy. I usually half the dosage or even smaller. Sometimes it made you feel a bit drunk and you can't remember the last few moments before falling asleep. I've experienced the first time I took just half the pill, it was very hard for me to get up. I only use it once in awhile now when my sleep pattern is off and I only take 1/4th of the pill. Downsides to Ambien - Addictive and you have a bit of a hard time waking up if you don't take it early enough in the evening. If you're starting out, either take it early enough in the evening, or half the dosage to see how the potency affects you.

Ambien is supposed to be used as a short term solution 7-10 days. My doctor had me take it for insomnia for 6 months. I became addicted and had to go through a withdrawal period. It is devastating as it induces episodes of anxiety, nervousness, diminished short term memory and reduced abilities to concentrate. It also suppresses the dream state of sleep, so while you get some rest benefit, normal sleep is disrupted when you stop using. I would advise against long term use!

I'm an insomniac, and Ambien has helped me go and STAY asleep, but it is also a very useful recreational hallucinogen. I see elves a lot when I trip on Ambien. Pretty fun. Be careful, though, because it IS possible to overdose. This is a very common suicide drug. Play safe.

I have had sleep apnea for more than 50 years, maybe longer. When I finally got a doctor to listen to me, he put me on Ambien 10mg. For people like me, Ambien is a life saver. It really helps. The only side effect that is bad, it has a tendency to cause amnesia. This is not usually a problem because you should go to bed after taking Ambien, and one has amnesia when sleeping anyway. However, I have taken Ambien with the intent to go to bed, then a movie comes on tv that I wasn't aware of before taking the Ambien and the next day I have no memory of watching the movie or just a partial memory of it. That is not good when you are renting movies from Cablevision on a satellite receiver, as you wasste your money and may rent the movie more than once.

Ambien is great! It's one of those "Now I'm here....Now I'm not" sleeping pills. Gotta love those!
