He was a longtime US Senator until he ran for Governor and won. He resigned from the Senate and appointed his daughter to the seat. Everyone thought she would lose--she didn't. Murkowski is in big trouble as his approval rating is a rock bottom because of his handling of the state airplane purchase with state funds. It seems it is more expensive to have a state airplane in Alaska than first class air travel! Look for a change in Alaska unless he starts turning it around.

Living in Alaska for 30 years, without question the worst governor ever. $50 Million in contracting turned over to a private firm outside of the procurement laws to save $230,000 - yet he needs a new business jet ! Got rid of Science & Tech foundations that was making money & modernizing the state for a small one-time gain. As bright as Barrow in December!

I'm surprised that this man was not invited to administer Bush & Company's EPA with these kinds of credentials. A complete disrespect for Nature and future generations. He seems especially fond of GOP propaganda that ANWR's 6 month supply of oil will rid the US of its need to import foreign oil. He calls people who care about preserving the Tongass extremists and those who want to exploit it responsible corporate citizens. It's amazing how greed has blinded so many Alaskians and others in all those red states.

He's killing off wolves because wealthy hunters offered him money. Wealthy hunters claim they want to control the wolf population by killing 80% of wolves. Wolves live in packs, which depends on each other. If you kill 80% of wolves in Alaska, it's not control: it's extinction. Extinction for hunters to kill some moose. Without the wolves to properly control moose, as God intended it to be, moose will overfeed on certain plants. This will destroy the ecosystem of Alaska, and it will destroy moose. In the end, the ignorance of most hunters on matters of the ecosystem will destroy their precious moose. I guess then Bush can start drilling oil in Alaska, ignore the fact there are hydrogen cars in the making, and help his friends in the oil business live their lives in FURTHER luxury while damaging the welfare of our planet's temperature and species. Wonderful. Murkowski should be put in jail for ignoring votes in 1996 and 2000 on the aerial hunting of wolves. He is ignoring the pleas of A... Read more

Yet another 432 year old fossil clogging up the political/governmental process and underserving a most mentally retarded state, a welfare outpost with endless natural resources but a decided lack of brain power. This guy was one of the most undistinguished members of the U.S. Senate, yet somehow managed to wield considerable influence given the small and inconsequential constituency he represents. And the end result of this was endless pork barreling that taxpayers in the lower 48 subsidized with little or no return on their footing the bill. What is especially appalling about this bag of caribou droppings is his absolute disrespect for and antipathy toward enviromental concerns, which is totally illogical when you consider what Alaska is, namely one of the last frontiers of unspoiled natural beauty. With this nozzle's attitude toward Green concerns, he would be better suited as the Mayor of some faded toxic waste-infested factory town in the industrial wasteland of New Jersey. An... Read more
