Kirk Ferentz is a great coach that is doing the best with what he has. it's no secret that we just don't have any shining stars on our team at the moment, and it is difficult to win games if no players are willing to step up and lead the team. So basically don't give up on the best thing we have, keep Ferentz!
jbarrientos 11/08/2007
Has underachieved for the last four years in a weak big 10 conference
heaventhereisn obeer 01/21/2006
Laughed out loud when I saw "Big Red" fan say Frentz sucks. Huskers would kill for Hawkeye's success over past four years, but at least they got some help from officals against Michigan. Sorry Husker, but the real football has moved east on I80 to Iowa City. Winning the Big 12 North?????? Kinda like being valedvictorian of your summer school class-- eh???
Uofibaseball25 01/11/2006
He has definately stepped up the Iowa program to a new level
fonzee 01/07/2006
Look what the guy has done to turn the program at Iowa around. The guy is money!
trojanhorse11 11/17/2005
Does more with less. Dallas Clark, Eric Steinbech, and Bruce Nelson were all fomrer walkons that were turned into first round draft picks. Robert Gallery was a two star tightend who was turned into the second overall pick in the 2004 draft. Over the last three seasons has sent eighteen players to be drafted by the NFL. Enough said

Coach Ferentz is nothing short of a class act. His teams are always well prepared and well coached both on and off the field. He is without any doubt the best college coach in the game today, period. Go Hawks!
BOSOX1 08/01/2005
Anyone who can take IOWA to a BCS game deserves 5*s. Anyone who can take a senior QB that had never started a college game and turn him into a Heisman runner up is a 5 star coach. Anyone who can take a team to a 10-2 season with a 3rd string RB deserves 5 stars. If I weren't a Clemson fan I'd be and Iowa fan.
Horn12Fan 07/31/2005
What has he done? Nothing
Kinnickhawk 07/11/2005
Look at his teams and records the past 5 years. nothing short of amazing froom Coach Ferentz and his teamand coaching staff. #1 all the way.
thisismyopinio n 07/11/2005
Ferentz rules.
BSTIG 07/11/2005
BEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACH IN THE COUNTRY!
Bob Smith 07/11/2005

DiegoExplosion 07/11/2005
Good Guy and good coach
kinnick 07/11/2005
Best coach in college football and it's not even close!
HJB 07/11/2005
Nobody better.
dunaway05 02/22/2005
not as good as tressel.
GIS 02/09/2005
By far one of the best coaches in college football today. He has 1 & 2 star recruits, walk-ons, and turns them into NFL Players and Conference beaters of bigger programs like Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State. He will soon go to the Pittsburgh Steelers or Pittsburgh Panthers or Penn State his home state and hometown. He is simply the best today in college football!

Ferentz is one of the greatest coachesand mentors in the game
goblue2808 01/15/2005
Ferentz started with nothing when he got to Iowa 5 years ago. Big ten champs and top ten team 2 out of the last 3 years says a lot. I have a lot of respect for Kirk and the Iowa program.
czechawk 01/06/2005
His accomplishments speak for themselves.
sportsed1 12/28/2004
I'd take Kirk Ferentz game day over any coach in the country. Iowa isn't the easiest place to recruit to, unlike the Florida schools, USC, Texas, Oklahoma. Yet Ferentz has won BIg 10 titles 2 of the last three years and is on the verge of three top 10 finishes.
Steve Childs 12/26/2004
No coach has done so much with so little.
rtfrede 12/26/2004
Nobody develops talent better!!! Nobody!!!
rustyshacklefo rd 12/26/2004
I would take Ferentz to coach my team over anybody right now.
Coach Rod 12/26/2004
Best Coach in the Nation.
BugahaNE 12/04/2004
Without a doubt the best coach in the country. Does more with less talent than anyone. Once he has the talent that USC, Texas or Miami has, Iowa will finally win the national championship, hands down !!!!!
the_wizard 11/18/2004
Even without a running game, Iowa is 8-2, 3rd in the big ten conference with the chance to place second. They will be playing in January for the 3rd straight year. Kirk Ferentz has completely rebuilt this team and is currently the best coach in the nation.
JonnyWodd 11/09/2004
Hey Husker 13, How are the Huskers doing this year?? Haha...good thing you got rid of that crappy coach Solich and found yourself a winner...NOT!!!! Have fun basking in the light of the bottom of the weakest conference in the NCAA (B12 North)!!!!
Umar Deneb 10/30/2004
Best Coach in the Big Ten right now.
Kirk Hatch 10/30/2004
The best.
Carol Olack 10/26/2004
One of the best today in college football.
Hawkfan 10/24/2004
5 in a row over Paterno! Plus showing emotion! What a great guy! Don't ever leave the Hawks.
ACCGUY 10/04/2004
This guy will be on top of just about every HC list in the country when jobs come open.
AG Mines 09/17/2004
Has beaten JoePa 4 in a row.

Coach Ferentz arrive with the cupboard bare. His first two year were remarkable in how he turned around the attitude, gave the men a sense of pride and confidence, and taught football to his team. By his third year he proved why he is truly a 5-star coach. His program is a creduit to the University of Iowa. Now the Michigans and Ohio States of the football world look at Iowa as the bullies of the Big Ten. [email protected]
BigTenFan 06/29/2004
Iowa's recruitment ratings have been so-so and still Ferentz has gotten his team into the top ten the past two years. He obviously does a great job of getting the most out his players!
rowbeartoe 06/26/2004
one good season with a super senior qb is all this guy has to show
shonblatt 05/12/2004
Turned a program on the decline to a national power within 5 years. I only hope that he doesn't decide to leave for the NFL.
Husker13 03/02/2004
He is from Iowa, nuff said!
