Never got that far. Not a math guy at all. In The Two Towers, Gollum did not want oliphaunts to be. I do not want calculus to be...

I was hopeless at this, with little interest in improving myself. For my part, Cal Culus might as well have been the guy doing oil changes at the local garage.

I never got up to calculus but from what I heard it's bogus.

Personally I think calculus, algebra, geometry, mechanics and statistics should all be included in a single item somewhere here as they are taught as a single subject here. I liked the subject so much that when it came to picking A-Levels I didn't just take one Mathematics subject but two - Mathematics and Further Maths

I took Pre-Calc in High School, I passed it BUT certainly did not pay enough attention to it to make it worth the 9 months I spent in that class...

=O I don't think I could ever get to that level in math without cheating or surgically replacing my brain with another one!

More people should take calculus, because while people don't realize it, calculus deals with things that happen around us all the time. Concepts like velocity and acceleration are common place things, but unless you've had calculus, you don't even really know what they are. Calc I and Calc II aren't really all that hard, and I would reccommend that every college student take them. More advanced calc classes are harder, and I really wouldn't reccommend them to anyone who wasn't going into something like math, science, engineering, etc.

If calculus is "higher mathematics", three stars means: I should be offered to pupils but not forced upon them.

I loved calculus. You actually use similar thinking processes every day of your life.

I would fail this subject if I had to take it 100 times. Some things are just not meant for every mind.

I don't need to know the speed of two opposing trains running at 250/mph. How is that going to help me at work!?

Ah, this really killed me back in sophomore days of highschool. I swear, implicit differentiation was going to be the death of me had I not come upon a decade old video set called "Video Aided Instruction". I haven't used it a lot so far as a college junior (thankfully) but if I took my second choice (theoretical physics) instead of law, I would have.

It's fun. Plus, you can finally find the slope to a tangent line to a curve!

I HATE CALCULUS! That class actually made me cry because I always felt so defeated! It is hard to understand, and I fail to see how it is anywhere as useful as many of the other underrated subjects such as sociology, biology, history, geography and even art!

Mathematics is sublime. If you wish to understand anything of the grand archicture of the universe, and experience some of the wonder of that "architecture built to last for eternity" as Einstein put it so movingly --study math. Study it until it comes to you. The beauty of math is cold and pristine and unlike any other aesthetic experience; it is a language used to describe the deepest secrets of nature. There is something here much bigger than humanity. It's humbling and awe-inspiring.

What a waste of my time. I had calc my junior year in high school and it's because of that class that I hate math. I just did not and still do not understand why it is neccessary to learn some of those concepts. Graphing circles, latin letters like sigma, and imaginary numbers aren't going to show up anywhere in my future. It just wasted a class period when I could have spent it learning something else which may have actually been beneficial to my life.

I never even made it this far in math. I got up to trigonometry and precalculus and said, "I'm through!" I'm good at basic math, but the more advanced math levels just stumped me.
