Rod Parsley was on TBN Sunday and guess what his message was on? It was similar to already discussed topics on RIA (by various Christians reviewers)-- Grace vs Law Reimagined. Parsley did his sermon on a dissertation (written by Martin Luther a German Priest of the 1500 century) titled "Law and Grace, Martin Luther reimagined. Luther is famous for his 95 protest against unbiblical teachings in Roman Catholic doctrine, such as salvation can earned by good works. Parsley took the Christian churches to task with harsh rebukes for their instruction in identical teachings that justification is by works and not faith in Jesus. He said Faith plus anything additional and added to this is false doctrine. Faith in Jesus period is the way to salvation. Any works is because of salvation, Not to earn salvation/ justification. He quoted how the bible said our works are not good enough to merit grace which was why God had to send Jesus to do it for us. He alone gives us undeserved an unearned g... Read more

Until I see all you critics sowing thousands of dollars to Missions around the world like Pastor Parsley I wish God would help you people (esp. the fakers quoting bible verses) shut your evil mouths up and control (tame) your tongues! Remember God said one day everyone will give an account for every idle word. You critics have alot of idle words you will give an account for.

Jesus is the real seed that was sown for your blessing! Pastor Parsley said to sow a seed to break the Spirit of fear (and poverty). Pastor Rod Parsley said to commensurate his 25 years in Ministry to sow a 2010 Resurrection Seed (for Easter). He does so many great things for Missions in poverish countries why can't he make appeals to give based on this and leave the sowing (dollars) alone? To people that think they need to sow seeds to reap, wasn't that what God did when he sowed Jesus in the womb of the Virgin Mary so we could freely have all things? I'm not a Prosperity teacher on Christian television pedaling seed sowing but if I got one thing from my bible, God sowed Jesus, he is the main reason for us having anything.

A friend who supports him said he got an email from his Minstry promoting sowing a Resurrection seed of faith in time for Easter with an assurance that a blessing will follow. Translated as send in money for Easter and you will get a blessing. If this is true he is another one that I will no longer be listening to.

Revision:Did he take a swipe at all those other divorced Pastors when he said he was blessed to still be married to his first wife? If I were Benny Hinn and Clarence McClendon I would be wondering. When it comes to his teaching I'm somewhere in the middle of this because he can be a great bible teacher one minute then the next time completely different. He gives illustrations of his loved ones being healed or he got surprised with unexpected money by sowing a seed of faith (money). His money message always boils down to financial support so God can bless you. I don't know this for sure I'm not living his life and I don't know his relationship with God. What I do know from my own experiences is that the Lord has moved me to give a certain amount to a particular place or for a particular purpose and then tripled my blessing. I'm not taking issue with the principle of sowing and reaping, that's a universal truth. Every cause has an effect, my disgust is when money replaces the messa... Read more

To update any naysayers I'm writing him a check now. He is Pentecostal I'm a Baptist but I love this brother in the Lord. Not so, that he is straying from the bible on the seed sowing. The bible said you reap what you sow and this does not exclude money. I sent him a few dollars for the people suffering in Sudan and plan to keep supporting him. No one is forcing anyone to tithe or support Evangelist on television we do it because we obviously want to. No so that we are being taken. You do you and let me do me. Do I tell you not to buy your drink, do porn, or sleep around or get wasted on liquor? People should mine their own business and let us mine ours. That goes for tithing, seed sowing or anything else! Bless you, Pastor Parsley. Keep going!

He comes on TBN daily and there are times when I enjoy his sermons, then there are other times when he starts his plea to sow a seed of a certain dollar amount for a blessing from the Lord. I believe if he would stick to preaching and leave the sow a seed for a blessing part alone more people would support his Ministry. I used to love his sermons years ago but lately he has changed with more appeals of seed sowing.

Breaking News! Satan is once again attacking Pastor Rod Parsley! Due to overextension of his lavish lifestyle, Pastor Parsley is facing a $1.6 MILLION shortfall this year. Pastor Parsley HAS HAD IT!! He wants YOU, soft-headed christian, to make up for that $1.6 MILLION shortfall. So, open up your wallet, christians, and fork over the $1000 seed Pastor Parsley so desperately needs!! "My extremity is your opportunity," says ol' Rod. Pastor Parsley says "NAME THAT SEED!" Sow that $1000 seed and NAME THAT SEED, christians. Sounds pretty good, eh? After all, a $1000 seed always gets God's attention, says Pastor Rod. And now noneother than second-rate con man Todd Coontz is the featured guest on Parsley's "Breakthrough" comedy hour...ummm half-hour, actually. Coontz is talking about the "miracle of the FedEx/UPS." You cannot make this shit up! What HORSESHIT. This stinking piece of human feces is rapidly rising to the top as the most dispicable of all the TV preachers. ... Read more

I was channel surfing which I do a lot of these days and was impressed with his program on how not to be fearful and stressed in this global recession. He had a medical doctor whose name I cannot remember talking about physical and mental fitness. It was actually quite informative and pretty decent, until he had to go and ruin it by quoting the bible verse- Isaiah 41:10 with a promise of a breakthrough if distressed people sent in $41.00 or $410. Why does it always have to be a money motive with these people? If they really believed there is a Hell for the wrong people do they would not do these kinds of things! I conclude that they must not really believe their own crap at all! How long before passing laws to stop the insanity! Aren't they non-profit then they should not be if they are advertising paying for a healing and breakthrough. What kind of God would need to be paid money to help them anyway? He asked for tithes (in food not money) for the poor. I read it. I do not believ... Read more

I Love this man's heart for Missions. Many people may not know that Joni and Rod Parsley are strong supporters of Missions around the world. Bless Parsley for being the first to expose the plight of those thousands of Sudanese Christians and letting us know they were being sold into Slavery by Islamic militant extremist, in Darfur. Christians were being mutilated and martyred and no one appeared to care until Parsley exposed what was going on over there. He reported on this years ahead of all the rest, even before many African American Pastors addressed this injustice. He also pressured the White House to do something about all those mistreated African Sudanese Christians, long before it was popular and gained Secular Celebrity supporters, from George Clooney and the singing Group, U2. Pastor Parsley sends thousands of dollars to third world- poor countries. He accurately teaches on generously giving to the poor as a major way to obtain the Lord's blessing. I gave him 5 stars for his ministry and kingdom building. I was thinking that the money that was needed at the end of 2009 was for digital telivision equiptment and doubtless that it takes a lot of money for ministry millions for equiptment and millions for airtime. So that Christians have a voice about important issues..his center for moral clarity was conceived. Pastor Parsley was mentored by a great man of God (Lester Summerall)..the same annointing rests on him..so I know all his detractors will now hit the carpet and repent.

Perhaps the most smug, obnoxious presence on Christian television. Not interested in winning souls as much as lining pockets(ever watch this clown on a Praise a Thon?) A huckster, a con, and a leach who is nothing but a wolf in used car salesman's clothing. WAKE UP!HELLO!Message to Rod - leave the ministry for people who respect God's word and take up a position as an infomercial spokesperson for a juicer or some piece of exercise equipment.

I don't find any Biblical justification for a man to stand up for 45 minutes and preach to a group believers. Paul did it after returning from a 3 years absence, but that is it, what I do find in the first century is shared giving (1Cor:14:26) of spiritual gifts not one professionally trained orator hogging the spotlight. What everyone knows as clergy actually comes from Rome, which comes from Babylon along with Sunday worship and all the holidays. American Christianity is mostly pagan from start to finnish, and traditions are proudly protected. I have yet to meet a "pastor" who could teach or a teacher who could pastor....something is really wrong. I believe many christians are going to be supprised that most of their clergy will not be in heaven.

Lilgates...NOBODY who can discern false teachers are jealous of parsley. I don't know ANYONE who would want to be in his shoes come judgement day. I finally got a chance to watch this man several times on TV and what I saw was no different than any other religious charletan...appeal to the greedy nature of people who don't study their bibles, claim to have some special "anointing" and say how often God speaks to you, and preach sermons filled with raw emotion...accompanied with body motions, contrived facial expressions and loud shouting.

I feel people are jealous of his accomplishments and if you disagree with him then pray for him instead of being critical. We should all just worry about ourselves and read our Bible and allow God to speak to us and have our own relationship with God and stop judging others.

This guy's a riot. I've never seen anyone else work so hard to pretend to be an evangelist. He yells, he shouts, he walks around like he's stalking a cougar. He pulls out his handkerchief for effect. He starts the affected speech, where he gasps between each line as he delivers his 500-sentence message. I don't get any sense that it's the Lord working through a person. What I do get is that this is a person trying very hard to act as though the Lord is influencing him. Give the guy some due, however. How many televangelists are not in the South? He's just a good ol' Southern boy from Ohio.

I saw this guy's message work before my very eyes! Irv Garcelon, one of the regulars at Murphy's Strip Bar and Armenian Grill was bemoaning his fate the other day. Irv was sitting at home, quaffing Old Milwaukee. He got a snoot full and started watching Rod Parsley's World Harvest Church broadcast. Poor Irv got so fired up he called up and donated $10.00 with his credit card. Next day Irv was wishing he had his ten dollars back, and what do you suppose happened? The Shriners were having a convention, flooded into Murphs, and when they weren't in the back watching the entertainment on the stage and pole, they were upfront buying everyone in the house all we could drink. We allowed how Irv's contribution brought in the harvest!

This guy is a disappointment, I am not ready to classify him as a false prophet but he is a very, very shallow empty wind bag. The people he appeals to like getting worked up emotionally and think that's God's Spirit at work. I saw some programs a couple months ago where he was having some kind of revival and he made a bunch of empty boast like "this is going to be the greatest move of God in Americas's history" ... what a fake! There was no move of God just moving hot air from his lungs into the atmosphere and people jumping up and down & shouting for a while and that was it. A while back he also had some kind of program to wake up America to move it back to morality through appealing to government officials and seeking a moral awaking for America, it was suppose to be another mighty move of God, you guess it ....another dud. Parsley just keep coming up with these amusements to keep his followers pumped up with foolish expectations, It is all so sad to see that some Americans fal... Read more

Goodness!!! My My... Christians gossiping and backbiting.. acting just like the world. No wonder the world has no respect for us. In St. John 21:18-19, Peter was foretold of his death by Jesus... "And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, follow me." BUT PETER WAS NOSEY :) He wanted to know about the other guys and what God had in store for them. Verse 20 "Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?" Verse 21 "Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?" Verse 22 "Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, WHAT IS THAT TO THEE? Follow thou me." So many christians need to Butt Out of other people's business. The world is the first to quote "Judge not least you be judged" ... lol ... but they judge us for judging them. The "ragin' prophet", as he's often called, often reminds me of Marjoe Gortner, a man who many of you may not have heard of. Gortner was a fake evangelist who made a documentary back in 1978 telling how he fooled so many people into giving him money as a travelling evangelist. Parsley never met a money-making scheme he didn't like. It seems like every single new year, he proclaims it as a "Year of overflow", or a "year of breakthrough", and always attaches some kind of "seed offering" request so that God will pour out his breakthrough, overflow blessings on you. This year, he turns 50 years old, and his gimmick for that is for you to send him $50 dollars--a dollar for every year of his life, so that you can receive a special blessing. If you watch his Breakthrough service on TV, you'll see utter chaos. He postures and seemingly puts on an act in the pulpit, and he uses so many visual props, lately an animal's horn, several lighted torches, and the congregation jumping and dancing aroun... I REMEMBER ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO VISITING A REVIVAL IN MEMPHIS TENNESSEE AT A BLACK CHURCH WHILE ROD PARSLEY WAS THE GUEST SPEAKER. THE BISHOP G.E. PATTERSON'S CHURCH AND THEY WERE PUSHING PEOPLE TO DONATE $1000, THEN IT SLOWLY WENT DOWN TO $100. AFTERWARDS, THEY HAD EVERYONE WHO HAD GIVEN BETWEEN $100 AND $1000 TO STAND AND BASICALLY TOLD THE REMAINING WHO WERE SITTING (ME BEING ONE OF THEM) THAT WE SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR NOT WANTING TO FURTHER THE KINGDOM OF GOD. I ALMOST WALKED OUT AT THAT POINT AND AFTER ROD PARSLEY GOT UP PROMOTING HIS NEW BOOK, HE STATED IF THERE WAS ONE REASON TO BUY IT, IT WAS BECAUSE HE HAD LAID "HIS" HANDS ON IT.....THAT IS WHEN I WALKED OUT. EVERYTHING HE SAID WAS EITHER HIS OR ABOUT HIM, NO GLORY GIVEN TO GOD. HE WAS VERY EGOTISTICAL. I LATER TOLD THE FRIEND WHO INVITED ME WHY I LEFT, SHE SAID THAT THEY HAD MANY COMPLAINTS AND THAT THEY DECIDED HE WOULD NEVER BE WELCOME THERE AGAIN. OF COURSE, I DID NOT TELL HER THIS, BUT BISHOP PATTERSON REALLY WAS JUST AS BAD ... Read more

I went to this guys church years ago a few times. Most of the women there were dressed like hookers, very gaudy and flashy. The entire atmosphere was circus like. I had went there with every intention of liking it and being involved, but instead was appalled. I didn't get much out of Mr Parlseys preaching, it was just a lot of screaming and hollering that was kind of hard to get any substance from. I have since met a lot of people that go to church there, and the vast of them I have met are very arrogant and have a bizarre " if you don't go to church where I do you ain't $&*!" attitude. I ran sound at a church for quite a few years and had to deal with some people from World Harvest and they was VERY rude and demeaning toward me. Parsley has a excellent tv camera technique. The camera is far away and slightly out of focus so that it appears Parsley is vibrating or filled with spirit. Parsley is very talented at manipulation. When people see him sweat and turn red thay figure it must be the presense of the holy spirit. Manipulation and the usual false promises of health and wealth has made Parsley famous. A talented false teacher.

I saw this character for the first time late last night, never heard of him before. It's a tossup between him and Kenny Copeland for most amusing to me. Let me get one thing straight, could care less what people believe or not believe spiritually, theologically, and what not, one's interpretation of The Bible or their faith is their business, if it makes them feel happy or content, well that's a good thing. However, this guy is great for entertainment value, an obvious fraud, but if you're gonna be an obvious fraud, be an entertaining one, and that's what this guy is, and that's why I gave him an extra star, the amusing ones get an extra star. Rod Parsley acts as though he's going to lead some sort of "moral revolution" here in the States. But he's nothing new. Fundamentalists have been whining about church/state issues since the eighties, when Reagan unfortunately opened up a can of worms by getting into the whole "prayer in school" issue. What Parsley says is nothing new; it's exactly what other fundamentalists have been saying for years. I guess Parsley and his other fundy bretheren hope that if they throw out the same BS arguments over church/state separation enough, somebody might be dumb enough to believe it. Parsley's just another fundamentalist with a fat wallet and ego to match, and a persecution complex the size of Texas. Watching his show and reading his book only justify his existence. Truth be told, I could absolutely rip Rod Parsley to shreds in a debate about church/state separation. Can Christians Buy A Miracle Like So Many "Christian" Leaders Teach? Acts 8:20-21 - But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. I have to say this and I'm sorry to all the people who trust and think all these TV preachers are on the level. I do NOT agree and I'll tell you all my reasons why. First I put my FAITH and TRUST in God NOT any human being on this earth! Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Also if you recall in the Bible Jesus went in with a whip and BEAT OUT the preachers of his day. Do you recall the MAIN reason why Jesus did that? MONEY! MONEY! MONEY! You know nobody here has a bad opinion about Jesus, Thats good!, because Jesus said go out and preach the gospel to the whole world. Some places in the world can only be reached through T.V. Therefore it cost millions of dollars to fund the gospel, unless you want to go to the worn torn desserts of Sudan where they are currently killing christians that preach the gospel. So I suggest to the "rateitall" GOSSIPS, instead of useing good tithe dollars to support negative things, put the money into the kingdom of God And get some people saved.. I love Each and every one. Blessings be upon each of you who read this. Your Brother in Christ. P.S I do understand where some people are coming from. But there is a big missunderstanding about the money issue. For the record it cost $150.00 a minute just to preach the gospel on T.V. So lighten up alot.
