A very late review, but I assume you're reading this because now the price is so low that even if its a bad game you're willing to try it. Well rest assured this is far from a bad game, given the gameplay, visuals, audio, and story. Graphics: Starting with the strengths, the cutscenes look like they were pulled directly from an episode. Character models look great, colors are vibrant, and you basically believe that you are inhabiting the Simpsons universe. Where the graphics fail sometimes is during the gameplay, as some of the character models look way off, coupled with jaggy lines. Over all though, the game looks sharp. Audio: All the voice talent for the show is used here and the result makes it sound great. Music is fun but forgettable, but its the voices that you will remember and laugh at. Story: Story is blah, save the universe affair. The self-deprecating humor is greatly appreciated from a long-time videogamer and the barrage of jokes make the game feel like an actual e... It's an average 3D platform action-adventure game. It has some terrible camera problems. But that said, it's a Simpsons game, and if you're a fan of the show you'll enjoy it. The script is good, with some genuinely funny moments. There are some fun parodies of other video games.

This game is a blast for any Simpsons fan, but the graphics should have been taken up a notch for the PS3. The graphics are no better than PS2 or an old Xbox.

Not much fun at all and a bit too difficult & crude for my 6 year old for whom it was intended.

When I first heard about this game the thing I thought about was the movie so I was really hyped to get the simpsons game for my ds so I finally bought it so now I am 99% complete and I think that yes it is fun but on the on other hand the plot line is thin and ludicrous I played it a lot but it just didn't have that simpsons style I mean come on meet with god to save your world that was the best plot they could come up with as for the gameplay it looks as if the simpsons are walking stick figures that really don't do anything unless you press a button witch is a little strange but I really tried to love it just wasn't what I was looking for but I really like the short movies and some of the game backgrounds anyways here are the pros and cons

This was the first game I got for the PS3! If you're a Simpsons fan, this is totally worth it (plus now it's much cheaper than when I got it) I haven't beaten the game even, but it's fun to walk around in Springfield and see your favorite characters in the game. I've played other Simpsons video games and this is by far the most fun. Even if you only play once, if you like the show from growing up, like any of the characters, etc, it's totally worth getting!

This was a Christmas present for my daughter and she loves it. It's a little easy for avid gamers, even for people who tinker around. I haven't played a video game in years and I breezed through it quickly. For kids, however, there are parts that will baffle and frustrate them for a while, and do so without causing them to lose interest in the game. The fact that you can keep dying without reaching a game over is a nice touch for the kiddies too. I would definitely recommend this for young children. Only major drawback - when you begin on each new level there are long, animated introductions you cannot skip. While it's neat that you can hear the Simpsons discussing the game amongst themselves, it slows down your progress.

What really sells this game are the animated vignettes between the levels that are very well-done and entertaining. The creator of The Sims and Matt Groening even make appearances. It includes typical self-ridiculing Simpsons humor usually aimed at Fox, but this time aimed at the gaming industry. You see many different Simpsons characters, even some minor ones including Mr. Sparkle. They even say a few lines from Simpsons episodes. I like the two-headed Selma and Patty dragon that tells Homer "Get a divorce." While the story-line is exceptional, the game play is the common drudgery style of many games where your character beats up other characters and collects various doubloons to reach each level. Each of the main characters has a special power: Homer bloats up into a ball, Bart becomes the caped El Barto, Lisa meditates and uses the "Hand of Buddha," and Marge nags people into doing her bidding. Still, it's the constant fighting that gets frustrating and, if you have problem... Read more

I love the Simpsons and really enjoyed the version for the Xbox 360, so when I saw it on sale at my local retail store I though why not? Man, was I stupid. This version (DS), in my opinion has to be the worst version I have played. I thought it was quite entertaining and, of course, quite challenging, in the beginning. However, once the novelty wore off I started getting a headache from the constant repetitious dialogue. I opted actually to play the game without sound. The frustration only builds more and more as you play the game, because the game is designed in such a way that once you beat a really hard part and happen to die before reaching the checkpoint, well, you get to do it all over again, and again, and again, and again. I know for some they like the challenge, but after doing something repeatedly, especially as frustrating as some parts were, it really takes away the entertaining part of the game. As others have noted, you have unlimited lives, but that does not make it ... Read more
