I think some of you are confused. You're supposed to rate the facility itself. Not the school's fans, or experience. These ratings are useless, unless you base it on the facility itself.Tiger Stadium itself is delapidated, and needs renovating badly.
Neetsiepk 08/30/2008
This is the hardest place to play says all the opponents. This is the best football to see.
ACS2008 08/04/2008
second worse fans i've ever experienced, never going back here

As an opposing visitor, I can honestly say my experience, in Death Valley, was well worthwhile. Death Valley is truly amazing and a great college football experience for any fan. The intensity is amazing and can be found in every corner of Baton Rogue: pregaming, tailgating, stadium, postgaming, etc. The fans there are insanely wild, and they really take great pride in being a fan of the LSU Tigers. The stadium is literally deafening and I do recommend that visitors bring ear plugs because Death Valley is, hands down, the most electrifyingly loudest stadium in the country. Not to mention the food there is deliciously rare and the Cajun cuties can be seen all over the place. The fans do a myriad amount of taunting the opposition, but even so, theyre more than friendly and respectable, if that makes any sense. Bars are conveniently located within walking distance and are crazy and really jumping on game day. LSUs campus is very beautiful as well. The restrooms do make you wanna turn away, but the excitement of the weekend really overshadows your personal business. Baton Rogue was one of the top experiences in my life, and I definitely advise those of you who havent been fortunate enough to visit there on a gameday to do so before you perish. LSU is a dominant program and I thank the LSU nation for showing me more than just a good time, but a life-changing experience! GEAUX TIGERS!

Clemson is a pale imitation of this place and as a VT fan I've been to both. It's not only louder, but the tailgating is the best I've seen anywhere whether college or pro. They had like 20k people outside the stadium DURING the game.
ClemsonDude 09/25/2007
Not the Real Death Valley!!!! That name belongs to Clemson, LSU fans.
NotoriousMBC 09/19/2007
Extremely LOUD. Great view of the field no matter where in the stadium you sit. Not bad for a stadium built in 1928.
SweetHomeLouis iana 09/19/2007
The atmosphere, food, partying, women, stadium are among the finest in all the world. There's nothing quite like being inside Death Valley on Saturday night, but when tickets are too expensive to come by watching it from the parking lot with 25 friends and catering isn't half bad either.
LSUownsAU 09/19/2007
I haven't been as often as I would like, but Saturday's at Death Valley are some of the best time's I've had in my life. The campus is beautiful and atmosphere is second to none. Tailgating in Baton Rouge is like Mardi Gras in the Fall. The stadium itself is great. Very loud; Bear Bryant couldn't have said it any better, it truly does "feel like being inside of a beating drum. My God, to think that students actually once lived there, good thing Saturday nights are for partying not studying. We do ride the oppsition a little hard in and out of the stadium, but what can they expect, after all they are just "tiger bait." I have been to quite a few stadiums around the country, and I can say without any bias that Death Valley ranks with the best of them. Especially now that we expect to win, and no one runs out on to the field anymore, which was rather embarrassing when it seemed t occur no less than once a year.
jamesh1906 08/21/2007
This is the best stadium in college. Tradition and Winning 24 of the last 25 home games. Tigers just keep winning.
aphia1996 08/21/2007
This is the only place to see a college game on a Sat. Night in TIGER STADIUM! Wow, I was there for the LSU~Florida game when Kevin ran all over the gators. Then when they expanded and The Vols were in town and you couldn't hear anyone around you or yourself because it was so loud and the overtime win pushed the fans over the top! It has everything you would ever want in a college football game. Parties and tailgating is an art that starts on Thurs. and ends Sundays, and the traditions from the Tiger Band March into the Stadium to the dressing up for the game to just the pure fun of college football! If you really think there is a stadium that can beat TIGER STADIUM on a Sat. Night you have never been. I have been to plenty of stadiums around the nation and nothing even come close to this experience! If you get the chance don't pass it up! GEAUX TIGERS!!!
SECfootballfan 1 12/28/2006
Nice people, but the stadium is old, smelly, hot, small seats, tight squeeze, and just a nasty place.
AUAlum05 07/24/2006
I'm a born and bred AUBURN Tiger fan, and LSU is just below Bama on my "most hated teams list..." but what an amazing place to play football. Death Valley is the loudest place I've ever been, end of story. The fans are wild, intense, and passionate. In my experience, they were also friendly, offering my friends and I good drinks, good food, and hospitality. I'll go back to Baton Rouge.
tarheel76 04/05/2006
big stadium, fair weather fans, ugly uniforms, funny smell, INSECTS .
lsanhstn 02/23/2006
Probably one of the top two or three best places to watch a football game. Fans are loud and into the game. Unfortuneatly, the fans can also be quite rude to visitors and the drinking goes beyond what should be accepted as decent behavoir. In the games I have attended here I have seen multiple fights, LSU fans throwing up in trash cans in the concourse, seen fans throw drinks on visitors and use obscenities that would make Howard Stern blush.
tigerfam01 01/31/2006
L.S.U stadium is a great stadium to go see a big football game at. It is not overrated, because it is the sixth largest on-campus stadium in the nation. When you a 75% win record at home, it is a pretty good place to play for home-feild advantage. Besides, it is in the great town of Baton Rouge, which sits along the Mississippi River, not in the middle of a bayou.
hubcitytiger 01/06/2006
This stadium has it all. History, Tradition, Beautiful women ..... Beautiful Women !!!!!!! And most games are at night.. with over 200,000 attending tailgaiting during big games. Has been ranked 1 or 2 places in the country more times than not. If you get a chance to go.. you should... unless you pull for the other team !!!! we have better than 80% win mark at home at night...
Warrant 11/29/2005
The most electrifying atmosphere on a Saturday Night! The team, the band, & the fans are great! When the band plays, even visiting teams and fans get goosebumps. Probably the best way to spend time with 92,000 other fans is at an LSU home game.
tigggger 11/15/2005
Great Tradition
AUBRANDON 08/20/2005
WHY ARE YOU GUYS DOWN SO LOW. I BLEED ORANGE AND BLUE BUT MY FAMILY IS FROM LOUISIANA. [DEATH VALLEY] THERE IS NOT A MORE INTIMIDATING PLACE FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL
palladin 08/05/2005
Absolutely GREAT experience. As someone else said, Saturday night at Tiger Stadium is what college football is all about!!
remline 08/04/2005
Its in the middle of a swamp!
carlwross 07/09/2005
It's a fall evening on the bayou... 92,000 fans are on their feet.. Electricity is in the air... The Golden Band moves onto the field... The anticipation of what is about to be played stirs the entire stadium into a crazed silence... Then, suddenly, with a historic, yet haunting, purpose the slow chords of the Tiger Rag resonate from their instruments... 92,000 plus fans erupt into a frenzy... This is what college football is all about... This is the real Death Valley... These are the real Tigers... This is Tiger Stadium!!
denver morgan 07/08/2005
Great seats and great fans.Game day experience is second to none.Big and very loud.Needs a facelift,Poor traffic control.CAMPUS IS RUN-DOWN LOOKING ALWAYS A PLEASURE ..USUALLY NOT THE HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE YOU WOULD EXPECT.. LAST FEW YEARS LSU HAS BEEN TOUGH AT BATON ROUGE BUT B4 THAT YOU HAVE TO GO BACK TO PAUL DIETZEL.
cork 03/05/2005
Great stadium. I have been to to this stadium and the Swamp in Gainesville. I think it is all downhill after that. Both stadiums are equally unbelievable to me. They both have their benefits (LSU night game v. the Swamp's heat). Pretty much, after these two stadiums, everybody else takes a back seat.
jonjon87 12/26/2004
This medieval stadium is very poorly designed, but it can get very loud.
drgoodman 10/18/2004
Greatest place to watch a game besides Kyle Field at Texas A&M.;
LSUFAN2004 09/16/2004
loudest stadium Ive ever seen
cness 09/02/2004
As an LSU student, there isn't another place I'd rather be on a Saturday night. Being in tiger stadium is the best feeling on earth.
max webster 09/02/2004
Not bad, but a lot of dumb imbread hicks at the games. Most are hopped up on moonshine, so don't cross them! Plus puke everywhere!
coleslough 08/24/2004
puke everywhere
bkw842 08/03/2004
College football IS Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. The greatest tailgating in college football, the best fans and band in the world. You must experience it just once, and you'll be hooked on Tiger Stadium.
alaScott 07/28/2004
intimidating venue......the chinese bandits cheer will scare you &*#@less!!!!
TheBigTiger 07/24/2004
It's an OK stadium, well atleast their city's good for Mardi Gras. It's an insult for them to take Clemson's Death Valley name, as well as their Tiger nickname. LSU will always be the Bayou Bengals, not Tigers.
jackorange 07/24/2004
though the other Death Valley (Clemson) is my home stadium, ya gotta love Tiger stadium... particularly for Saturday night games....awsome atmosphere.
gamecoot 07/24/2004
Too many loud mouth drunk rednecks
rfbrown94 07/24/2004
Get an original name for your stadium and you might get better votes.
goclemsontigs 07/23/2004
Sorry but no one likes a Death Valley wanna-be. - Go Tigers
F Rizzo 07/22/2004
Most uncomfortable stadium I have ever been to. The fans are extremely rude. By the way, I live in louisiana. Very overrated.
State04 03/28/2004
THE FANS ARE AWESOME!!!!
masterman004 03/17/2004
great stadium, best atmosphere for watching the national champs! geaux tigers!!!!!!!!!!
smmrby9 03/02/2004
By far the best stadium in college football. Looooouuuuuuud!
bi289 02/28/2004
Very overrated!!! who knows LSU? Maybe loud to some because LSU is the only really big school in Louisiana and everyone in the state likes one school. They don't have very many big name schools like texas, alabama, florida, georgia, north carolina, tennessee, and other states.
zeeglah22 01/26/2004
OVERRATED!!!!!
melott 01/26/2004
People leave early and any hint of a defeat, and are horribly rude to the visiting patrons. It is however one of the loudest places to be in the world, which makes Michigan Stadium seem like a funeral.
jmabus1 01/22/2004
Saturday night in Death Valley...need I say more.
gators are tiger bai 11/04/2003
THE CROWD WAS SO LOUD ONE YEAR AGAINST AUBURN IT REGISTERED AS AN EARTHQUAKE. AND THIS IS BEFORE WE ADDED 20,000 SEATS. A SELLOUT EVERY WEEK. THE CROWD IS DRUNK AND LOUD EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT. IT IS CALLED DEATH VALLEY. YOU CAN'T EVEN HEAR URSELF SPEAK. BEST STADIUM IN THE COUNTRY BY A LONG SHOT. sATURDAY NIGHT IN DEATH VALLEY: WHERE I SPEND SATURDAY NIGHT W/ NICK AND 92,000 OF MY DRUNK FRIENDS GEAUX TIGERS
John W. 09/15/2003
you guys obviously don't have a good understnading of Tiger stadium. In previous years, they marked Tiger Stadium as an asteriks at the bottom of the rankings as they are unique unto themselves
MetNet 08/25/2003
It's too damn loud! Can't hear yourself think.
