My husband and I can't believe how smooth it is. I do pick up the caramel taste (if that's what it is), but Hennessey makes us feel pretty bad the next day. This gives no evidence the morning after. I have honestly tried believing that Hennessey was better, but it's really not.

To me, I think Salignac tastes just as good as Henessy. It's smooth, flavorful and you can't beat the price! Henry~

I use this cognac for making brandied cherries due to it's more citrus flavors and lack of Oaky flavor that you find in other cognacs. Sterilize a mason jar (or many), pit some cherries to fill it, leaving space at the top for full brandy coverage and put in your fridge for 2 weeks. Use these instead of those awful "neon" Maraschino cherries for making Manhattens. The longer they sit, the cognac becomes cherry cognac that is awesome when warmed-up.

You can tell cheap cognac when it has the carmel taste but for the money it will keep them bones warm on a cold night
