    Considering it takes about 24 hours from the UK to Australia with the stop in Hong Kong International for refuelling I think I would have been mad to have not taken the time to see the Great Barrier Reef, one of the Natural Wonders of the World, whilst I was there. In order to see the Reef we decided to go from Cairns as it seemed like a good place to start from. As it's one of those things you're likely to only do once in your lifetime we decided the way to make the most of it was to go scuba diving rather than snorkelling so organised a PADI Open Water course for whilst we were out there. For the PADI course we went with a company called "Pro Dive" as it's website described exactly the things we wanted to do so seemed the perfect choice. I really can't recommend this company enough - the instructors and crew of the boat are great so if you do intend on diving out there I recommend going with these guys even if it's just for the diving and not the PADI course.
