I have had my iMac G4 for almost 2 years and could not be any happier with it. Sure there is a shortage of software in some area-games especially-but the major needs are all covered. You can just install Virtual PC and solve the Mac/IBM bridge anyway-but then you traverse into the Microsoft realm of programming glitches and security problems. We very seldom have a problem that can't be easily solved and the folks at Apple have been great to work with if we have any issues-a 180 degree shift from what we had with HP and other PC manufacturers.

If loaded with its capacity in memory and extras, this machine is an excellent multitasking machine. Superfast and flexible.

These computers are very good and they are more expensive cos their graphic is better in my opinion. the only bad thing about this computers is that you cant find the software so easy like pcs. It's so hard to get games for it and so on. Or they would be like pcs, and they look better also. I like them but a pc is maybe more handy.

What makes Apple so good? serious, is it because they are expensive and trendy looking? the different colors you can choose from? or is it because it isn't a PC and People want to be different so they make themselves believe Apple is the best? It is true PC out sells Apple by a long shot, I wonder why that is? maybe because PC is better. Alot of Apple People claim they don't sell is many because they don't sell the rights of their machine like PC does. You will never see a Dell made Mac, an HP made Mac. Maybe these companies want to back the best machines, and that would be PC. Mac is second to Pc and always will be.

I've had my G4 iMac for about one month now, and I am absolutely digging it. The things that really stand out for me are 1) its speed. This thing is the fastest machine I have ever used and can effortlly handle virtually every application open at the same time. MP3's don't skip while you are running other applications, and the processor's power allows you to get really lazy about closing applications. 2) its iLife software. iTunes and iPhoto are fantastic. iTunes is a built in music application that allows you to rip, burn, and organize your entire music library in an unbelievably easy way. I recently got married, and the day before I jumped on a plane for my wedding, I decided to rip my 40 favorite songs in the world off of my cd collection and burn cds for my groomsmen. It was incredibly easy and fun. 3) How it looks. The iMac is a work of art, and something that looks great in your workspace. I live in a loft, so whenever people come over, they have the pleasure and... Read more

I was the one that suggested this entry of iMac G4, because I believe there's a big difference between it and the old G3 iMacs (for which I think most of the comments came in the original non-specific Apple iMac entry). I'm very glad to see it's finally gotten enough response to get on the list (and rise all the way to the top). I love my iMac. The compact size, the quietness, the extra-long 17" screen, the beauty and simplicity of *most* of its applications, are all huge plusses in iMac's favor. I love the Mac OS X operating system, the iLife applications, and even Apple's free downloadable web browser Safari. One warning to anyone wanting to switch from Windows to Mac... Get Microsoft Office. It's expensive but you can sometimes get a good deal if you get it along with the purchase of the computer itself (I missed that special discount by a couple days and really regret it). That's the only problem with Apple is that the AppleWorks word processor completely sucks compared to ... Read more

Only downside is that it's hard to find software for! Everything about the cpmputer itself is top-notch.
