He has done more to set the program back to the dark ages of the 60's & 70's than any one man should be allowed. Let's cut the losses & return The U to the program other schools could only dream about. I am sick of hearing Ohio State & USC with their elite programs.

I have been a Hurricane fan since the early eighties when I was ten. When he came here they said he was going to clean up the team. What he did was make it an average team. He y who needs all those national Championships anyway? We should be more concerned that th NCAA like us.

The talent thoughtout the ncaa is so much more even than it was years ago... to consistantly go 10+ aint easy. All of the parts have to be together at the same time in the same year; mature Qb, defense, Away vs home sched., injurys, luck.

With all of the talent that is present at Miami, I would think that Coker could have had some better finishes. When I see Miami consistently in the top 10, I don't think that is the coaches, but the players who are getting them there. Now if they could win a National Championship, than I would think the coach is doing his job. Coker can't get credit for the recruiting, because Miami gets the best kids no matter who is there. I think Coker needs to win the big one to show that he is more than just an average college coach. I wouldn't be sold on him coaching at any other University.

How does the school get rid of this amature? Last nights game was such an embarrasement. This guy clearly coaches by the seat of his pants. Larry Coker and his team of girls have made all of my hurricane garb unwearable for the forseeable future. Now how do I get those logo's off my car's license plate?

I HAVE BEEN A HURRICANE FAN THROUGHOUT THE 24 YEARS I HAVE BEEN ALIVE. I WENT THROUGH THE PROBATION PERIOD, AND THAT DOES NOT EVEN COMPARE TO HOW LARRY COKER AND HIS STAFF OF CHILDREN LET DOWN THE HURRICANE NATION. HE HAS ALL THE TALENT IN THE WORLD AND COULD NOT EVEN PUT UP A TOUCHDOWN. I COULD HAVE COACHED A BETTER GAME. HE JUST STOOD THERE AND LET LSU'S 2ND STRING QUARTERBACK AND RUNNINGBACK MAKE US LOOK LIKE A DIVISION 3 TEAM. IF A CHANGE IS NOT MADE AT THE COACHING POSITION IN THE NEAR FUTURE, WE WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE, JUST LIKE WE HAVE SINCE COKER TOOK THE REINS. HE DESERVES TO BE SODEMIZED BY AN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN IN A DARK ALLEY.

Coach, as a former player I gotta tell you, the Ga Tech game was the worst job of coaching you have doen snce being at Miami. Your comment on Kyle Wrights last past was a joke, he didn't call the play, either you or Shannon did adn no one who has coached pop warner football would call a fade pattern into double coverage, throwing it up for grabs wiht the game on the line. Come on coach, first down on the 32 3 min left basic football knowledge tells ya to eat clock go underneath in safe routes with options. It was the most rediculous call you have made and look what it cost ya.....for the second year in a row..........time to start coaching Larry, get off your hand calppin ass slappin ra ra mentality and coach some football. You ahve had the talent to win two Nat Champ..............let's go Coach!!!!!Get in the game

Coker is one of the most overrated coaches. Butch Davis deserves the credit by rebuilding that program. Then Coker came in when Butch left for the NFL--which he didn'e do very well, but seldom college coaches do at the NFL level--and won with Butch's players, system, and momentum built around a team that had been in ruins before he arrrived b.c of sanctions. Now, Coker, until recently, loses at least 3-4 games per year. In which most of the years they played in a very weak conference, the Big East. But, now the ACC is a better conf. but not like the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, or even the Pac 10. Coker could not win at a program with less prestige. He was just handed a great team to him. Just a little overrated, but he hasn't done too bad to ruin any chances of getting fired.

Larry Coker was extremely fortunate to inherit a team loaded with so much talent and win the National Championship. As a longtime Hurricanes fan, it makes me sick to watch the team play. There is no intensity from the defense and the offense looks totally lost. I can remember when Ken Dorsey started his first game, yes he did lose to Washington, but after that game he was one of the best QB's Miami has had. Also, does the offensive line know what there job is. To give up so many sacks in two games is a joke. These guys play like a bunch of girls!!!!!!!!!! Whatever happened to the Canes of old??????

Inherited a wealth of talent and solid program and road those coattails to a national title. Now that the Canes are *his* program, he's pissing it away.

Great Coach, his first 3 seasons. When you take Miami to 2 straight NC games its not surprising, but when u enter your 3rd season your expected to make it to 3 straight, but a BCS bowl isn't bad, its great. Then that 4th season comes and you go 9-3 its good but not whats's expected watch for another 8-3 season with that treacherous road schedule (at Clemson, at FSU, at VT) watch for 2 out 3 losses in those games.

I love how Coker makes it so year in and year out Miami is a huge contendor for the top 10. Not the best, but not too far from it.

Sure he has the best college talent in college football, but he uses it better than any, keeps them motivated, runs a clean program, and wins often beating teams anyway possible anytime. A Big-12 Official in the BCS National Championship game costs him a second title and longer winning streak.

most overrated coach of all time. Received a gold mine full of talent from Butch Davis. Davis had brough the program back after it had been down for a few years. Now Coker just has to show the recruits the name Miami (Fl) and sit back and watch the greatest collection of talent in college football year after year.

He's got one of the best jobs in College Football and all he has to do is maintain Miami in it's lofty spot in the College Football world. So far he's doing it, but ACC Football will be just a little tougher than the Big East.

Coker has grealy underachieved with possibly the best collection of talent in America. He was the beneficiary of Butch Davis' stockpile and now he has stooped to taking felons like Willie Williams. He looks desperate and will be this year without a QB.

About Coach Coker-fine man, good coach, comes from a good family here. But when oh when will you stop taking recruits from the prison yard??? if ya think your having problems with Soldiers like your tight end last year(Winslow Jr.) then what are your expectations out of guys from the lockup?

He has inherited a great team, let's see how he does now that Dorsey, and the other key guys are gone. The one thing that might save the 'Canes is if they join the ACC. In that case, they'll breeze to the BCS every year in that suckass conference.

Larry Coker is an awesome coach! He is very nice and always makes positive comments about the other team whether we win or loose. Some other coaches say all negative things about the other team. I mean UM hasn't lost a game since he has been the head coach and we won a national championship as a rookie and is going for another yay!! GO CANES!!!

Okay, so last season Coker proved he could help the team avoid internal conflicts and could coach a team that was clearly the nation's most talented to the national championship. Now comes the fun part. Larry Coker's 2002 mission is to take a raw yet talented team to the promised land when ever other team in the country is gunning for them. As long as Ken Dorsey is there, Miami will have a chance, but the schedule looks brutal. Last year's title was enough for 4 stars, but this year we'll see exactly how good a head coach Coker actually is.

Congratulations to Larry and the enitire UM staff for not only reviving this program from the death-grip of the NCAA, but also for 4 first-round draft picks in 2001, #2 team in the nation, and bringing back the good times to the Orange Bowl.

Great coach - very personable (good recruiter): Larry has the right attitude and unlike past UM coaches (Johnson, Davis, Erickson, etc.) - he's not looking for an NFL springboard.
