 | callitdowntheline75 (69) 02/19/2005 | Super Bowl XVI established three facts: (1) Joe Montana was a great quarterback, (2) the West Coast offense is effective as it is innovative, and (3) the San Francisco 49ers had a defense which could stop the Cinncinnati Bengals's high octane offense led by Ken Anderson. In any case, this Super Bowl will always be known for the goal line stance which denied the Bengals a championship- and moreover, the beginning of what would become the 49ers dynasty.
