This is proof that the Elway worshippers might need to settle down. There were lean days without Terrell Davis...

This game was all Denver's, until the 2nd quarter that is. On Denver's first play from scrimmage HOF QB John Elway, launched a 56 yard bomb to rookie WR Ricky Nattiel for a TD 1:47 into the game. The next time The Broncos had the ball the marched right down the field in a drive, which included, a reception by John Elway himself. The Redskins stopped Denver at the 6 yard line and The Broncos settled for a filed goal and a 10-0 lead. Until Super Bowl XXII, no team had ever come back when trailing by more than 7 points, even worse, no team trailing by more than 7 points had gotten back to tie the game. Denver's defense started out strong. They didn't allow The Redskins past midfield on their 1st two possessions. this game had it all. if i remeber correctly the broncos scored on a bomb on their first play, and looked like they would run away with it. then the redskins score on an 80 yard touchdown, followed by scores from 22, 58, 50 and 8 yards. total elapsed time---- only 5 minutes that's unheard of. most games do't even see that many points. in this game, they were scored in a combined one thirs of a quarter, they threw in another touchdown in the fourth to make the domination complete.

At first, it looked like an upset was in the making. Then Denver implodes in the 2nd quarter. 35 uncontested points in one quarter. You got to be kidding me. I don't think I even watched the second half. Kudos to the gutsy performance of Doug Williams.

Doug Williams comes in despite injury and becomes the 1st black quarterback to win the SuperBowl. That alone makes this a memorable Superbowl. Timmy Smith comes out of nowhere to set the super bowl rushing record, and the Redskins score the most points in the 2nd quarter, that any team has scored in 1 quarter of any superbowl.

I liked the 3-D halftime show but that was about it.
