If you're on a budget, you can't go wrong with Barbasol. I think you get more for your money than the Edge Pro Gel because it has a much lighter, clean fragrance. This is a straight-up cream--no gel foaming action. This is the stuff dads use and it definitely found it's way onto plates for pranks involving throwing pies at kids' birthday parties.

It's passable but just. Colgate works better for those of us with extremely heavy fast growing beards. Barbasol is too dry, but probably would work ok for an person with an average beard. And admittedly it is cheaper.

The Pabst Blue Ribbon of shaving cream. . .cheap but workable.  Take your time lest you increase the chance for nicks.  Still, the travel-sizes are convenient and inexpensive.

It's cheap and it works. Barbasol is good enough for me. I don't need any of the fancy gels that cost three bucks a can when Barbasol works well enough for about a buck.

The new Ultra formula is great! Much better job than Foamy or any of the gels I've used! Stay away from the Gillette Fusion gel if you can. At $4 a can it is a total rip-off and you can get a closer shave using plain soap than that stuff! Quick Update, I've tried that new "Pacific Rush" and it is fantastic! Not too perfumy and does the job extremely well.

i think i may have shaved with it once.  but we had a much better use for it at church camp this summer, as we filled a kiddie pool with 30 cans to be second base in a kickball game. it was perfect for that.

Back in the college days, I'd buy this stuff for cheap, and one can would last me for the whole semester. I wouldn't scant with the stuff either; when you press the button so much of it comes out, but even so I could never seem to finish it off. It was probably the most thrifty purchase I've ever made in my life. As for the shave, I wasn't bowled over by the cream, and eventually graduated to a gel.

Very inexpensive, usually under a dollar for an 11oz. can. Its'not going to break your bank. It does what it says, it is aerosol shaving cream, not magic GQ in a can. The scent is very medicinal. Okay product if you are really, really tight on money. Just remember to wash your face well before with warm water, also use a hot towel first to soften your beard hairs and you will get a semi good shave.

A good product that does what it sets out to do. You have to SHAKE THE CAN prior to using it. Try it out, it'll work.

Probably my least favorite, it does work well enough though.. I know what you other raters mean by no pressure in the can, you come across that with this brand once in awhile, I have bought 2 cans of this stuff back in the day and the 1 out of 2 had hardly any pressure and I didn't get nowhere near the all of the contents out of the can, and the other bottle which had good pressure worked just fine for me, this stuff is a little thinner than Colgate or Gillete making it not as good, but if you gotta shave it will work good enough.

This is the 2nd time I have had this problem with this product. It's cheap crap. I have a whole can in the bathroom but can' t use it cause there is no pressure in the can and it won't come out. This is extremely frustrating, I am really mad. I feel like I have been ripped off and will NEVER buy this product again. Take my advice don't waste your money.

Affordable, gets the job done. Not for Mr GQ or James Bond but perfect for the average Joe.

I'm a big fan of not spending a lot of money where it isn't necessary. As Barbasol is somewhat cheaper than some of the other shaving creams - twice I have given it a shot - and both times it has left me down. Amazingly, each time that I have purchased Barbasol, there has been zero pressure in the can, meaning that I was unable to squirt the shaving cream onto my hands. After the first time, I figured it was bad luck. After the second time, I vowed never to spend money on Barbasol again...
