I was actually fortunate to have known George Luz personally, and I have to tell you, he was one of the funniest and most humble person I have met. Gomez did a great job. George was in a bowling league with us up until he passed, and he would still wear his bomber jacket with the screaming eagles proudly displayed. God Bless George, Wayne

St4ndalonetogether.....Bite your tongue! George Luz was my grandfather and a wonderful person. If he had died during the war I would have never known him. It's a shame that he passed away when he did because I miss him terribly! He brought laughter and joy to many peoples lives which is why over 1500 people came to his funeral. So, it's not a shame that he didn't die in the war, it's a shame that you weren't lucky enough to know him!

George Luz was a very comical man who raised the morale of the other men throughout the duration of the war. Rick Gomez portrayed Luz very well. This is an excellent mini series! By the way, Wavebacker - Lux did not die during the war! Do your reserach before you make an opinion! And, st4ndalonetogether - how dare you say that it is a shame George Luz was not killed. Gomez is not the real Luz, and you disgust me by stating this opinion. The real Luz, along with the other soldiers were, are and will always be heroes.

too bad he DIDN'T get killed, but he was funny... my favorite was his Major Horton impression. Frank: Hey, Luz, Can you do Major Horton? George: Does a wild bear crap in the woods son?

George Luz emerged as one of the most memorable and likable characters in the series. An Original Toccoa Man, Luz managed to last the length of the War without being Wounded. Actor Rick Gomez portrayed Luz very well, especially in his comical & hilarious impressions (of Maj. Horton & Col. Sink). Luz was a Radioman & Supply Sergeant throughout the series and was also an excellent soldier who boosted the Company's morale on numerous occasions. ---

Simply hilarious. He had a way of lightening the mood, even when the other guys didn't feel much like laughing. My favorite quotes of his include: Hey Frank, this guy is reading an article that says the Germans -- are bad. and Now the thing to remember, flies cause disease, so keep yours closed!
