US Bank is the only bank that Suck and Blow at the same time
CHEATERS, LIARS, THIEVES,
They hide your balances to what you really have in your acct to deceive you so that you purposely go over drawn and charge enourmouse over draft fees many times 40 bucks per overdraft.
They purposely dont' help customers by never allowing you any kind of overdraft protection via credit. So that they can continue to over charge you.
You can open other accts with your own money to setup an overdraft but be sure that they also charge you for them to transfer YOUR funds so that you dont' over drawn your acct. But they way they do business it won't matter. They WILL charge you.
NEVER NEVER NEVER open an account with them. There is no customer service to help you.

I had horrible customer service at US Bank. They charged me $75 in charges for writing 5 to many checks over the limit of 3. I was not told about this charge when I opened my account, or I would have never opened my account there. They told me that they aren't going to pay me a penny back of the money they stole from me. I am going to file a lawsuit against them in Small Claims Court. It's cheap where I live, $10, and close by my house. I might not win, but US Bank has to have someone represent them there or I will win if they don't show up. I'm also going to take as many depositions as possible at their branch office and I will speak in a loud voice when I go there to do that. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a bank in my life, and I'm not a young man anymore. Stay away from US Bank. They have a bunch of scams to ring up fees and charges. Plus, I don't know any other way to put it, their tellers are dumber than a bag of rocks!

I, like many of you, have had a horrible experience with US Bank. I was charged overdraft on 3 items, 2 of which were made when I had enough money in the account to cover them and a 3rd which came in 3 days later that overdrew my account. They tacked on 2 because the 2 charges I made didn't clear until after the 3rd charge THREE DAYS LATER became an authorization. The third charge wasn't even cleared until the day after it was first posted... so the 2 charges I made first had 4 days to clear with enough money in the account to cover them. So I got charged $105 not to mention the money that was already in the account seemed nonexistant to them. I went to one branch three times to get it resolved. The first 2 times I talked to the same person who told me she would talk to somebody and call me and both times she called to say it wouldn't be refunded. The third time I talked to someone else and she told me I had to go to another branch in my town because the branch I was at couldn't do anything to my account. I went to the other branch to talk to the manager and I argued with her for 30 minutes while she talked to me like dirt (I won't mention her name *cough* Stephanie Kidd *cough* Whoops!). She wouldn't refund any of my money so I stormed out and promised to close my account by the end of the month (which I will as soon as I get my tax refund). Then I came home, sent a complaint to a private website, sent a complaint to a federal consumer website, and sent an email to US Bank explaining everything (overdraft charges, rude manager, closing my account, etc) and they sent me an email today saying they were sorry for the rude service, explained that my account had be charged correctly, blah, blah, but they did refund 2 of the 3 overdraft charges, which is all I wanted. I understood the first one, but not 3. I can't wait to get with another bank. Anyway, I suggest that any of you who are getting charged for things you don't think you should to get on their website and send them an email explaining your position. The bottom line is that if they want to charge these types of fees then they need to educate their customers on how exactly they do business. They are able to do this crap because they keep all of us ignorant. The next bank I go to I'm asking every possible question and leaving no stone unturned.

horrible! Horrible!! HORRIBLE!!! i WAS OVERDRAWN - MY FAULT, WHICH I TAK FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR - AND WENT TO PAY THE OVERDRAFT. I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT WAS 4PM, IT WOULD BE RECORDED THE NEXT DAY AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY YET ANOTHER DAY OF OVERDRAFT PAYMENT. I TOLD THEM NO WAY - I PAID THAT DAY AND IT SHOULD BE CREDITED AS BEING PAID THAT DAY AND THEY WERE NOT GETTING ANOTHER PENNY OUT OF ME.

I too will be closing my account based on unethical overdraft charges. I check my balance daily, have numerous text message alerts and still have wound up paying $35 in fees for a negative AVAILABLE balance. My actual balance being well in the black. Overall I estimate my total loss to be about $300 over the last year. I can't tolerate it anymore. I am making a complaint to my local better business bureau.

I hate US Bank. I closed my account with them after tons of overdrafts fees. One after another. On two separate occasions my fiance deposited cash and they never put it into the system. Thank god he kept his deposit slips and returned the next day as proof. The stupid teller said she accidently left the cash on the desk next to her computer and never deposited it. Who makes mistakes like that?

I hate US bank. they do not care about the everyday, middle- class person. I am closing my account with them because they charged me 9 NSF fees after the check had already cleared in my account!! My mom's name is on my account and after I went in and spoke with them about waiving the NSF fees, because I am broke and have a 9 month old, they took all the money I owed them out of my mom's account without even consulting her!! I am going and closing my account today. Does anyone know of a decent bank??

I too am closing my account at USBank. Their customer service is lousy, the managers have that attitude like you are a peice of crap and don't bother me and get lost. I find ALL the bank managers could care less about you. I have had to deal with one in Pleasant View, Tn. This so called manager is a bitch and so rude, she needs to be fired but evidentally USBank CEO or owner likes them that way and encourage it from them. Also the bank in Ashland City, Tn and Clarksville, TN and Nashville, Tn. Hello I haven't found one yet that is courteous so I'm assuming they all are hateful to customers. Its not like I've been with USBank for few months or year, I've been at bank for along time years in fact, ever since they bought out the former bank I was with. Should have left then to another. Right now I haven't completely closed out but I am with another bank Community Bank & Trust a local bank that I can trust I can't USbank. I'm so afraid to close out Us because I'm afraid that they will put charges on my account for no resaon like they have did others, such horror stories. My daughter has already left this bank and my sister is thinking about switching also because they have started being so rude and mean to her for no apparant reason. These idiots don't have to have a reason just a bad bank. I'm disgusted with their so called managers, must have hired them when no other bank would. I feel sorry for people who stay with them. I noticed this excelsior30 in year 2005 said he had no problems I bet he has a different opinion about them now. I guarantee if he still gives a good report he is an employee of UsBank.

I agree with the reviewers that state how US Bank is inflexible about charging fees. Such poor customer service- they aren't interested in building long term, loyal customers, just making money.

Us Bank is the worst money steeling bank that I know. They find ways to charge for overdraft fees for items that were already listed as cleared. I will be closing my account with them. Ever since I had my checks from work direct diposit I have been more broke than ever. If I over draft on one items they find ways to charge me for the items that already cleared, than they tell me that the items were pending not cleared. I do not know how they get away with steeling from customers. This bank should be closed down in every bank. They are criminal , crooks. I will be closing my accounts very soon.

I don't think the IRS nor the Federal Government cares how US Bank VISA conducts their business.
US Bank chooses to register one's payment when they want to, at whim, and has their phone collectors verbally threaten customers that because your payment is two days late "Why should we credit you when we receive it?".They frequently use the worn litany of the customer being responsible for what they say they can't control-their mail room and their posting(one would think that is powered by some water wheel-not electronically posted). Their profitEERING is accomplished by convincing the customer that they have not received the payment and getting the customer to simply say they "sent it". Seems everyone else received the payment-the computer service, the other bank Visa, the mortgage company, the utility companies, etc. on AND your checking account shows those. But ONLY(exclusive to them) US Bank Visa denies receipt of payment for many days or over ten days so they can 'justify' interest upon late charges compounded by interest, etc..
Haven't even used the card for a long time, just making payments. When I pay them off-it will be in one full payment with permanent riddance of them.

I'm in the process of trying to close my corporate account - what jackasses they are! It was a second account that I hardly ever used, then... I had called to check the balance because I needed to transfer most of the account into my other temporarily, and according to the electronic/by phone account, I made sure to leave enough in there to keep it open. A month later (no calls, no notices), I got my monthly, and found that they charged me DAILY for a $30 overdraw, that had IN ONE MONTH reached over $240!!! I tried to call them, and nobody would help me because they said they had sent it onto collections, closed out the account. So I had my accountant try and reason with them, they reopened it for him, and then "generously" deducted $100 from it - but by then it had gone up well over $300!!! I go in to pay it off today, and they tell me that yet ANOTHER $90 has been added to the hole. That means they have raped me of more than $380 for a $30 mistake that their f'd-up electronic phone service made me think I could make; it should be illegal to charge 13 times the overdraw - that's absolutely INSANE. I can't believe they not only charged on average $8 PER DAY, but they never bothered to try and contact me AT ALL. I can't wait to close that out, and I will NEVER go near them, nor allow another person I know go near them again.

U.S. Bank is terrible. They really are scam artists. They have ripped off my cousin, my dad, as well as myself! The teller told us we should switch from a reserve line to a premiere line, promising a lower interest rate; so we did. We checked, double checked and triple checked w/ the tellers in person, as well as on the 24-hour banking line to confirm that our reserve had been brought to a zero balance and closed out. Everyone we talked to said, yes the reserve line didn't exist anymore and the premiere line that was opened was meant as a replacement, they couldn't co-exist, we were told. THREE YEARS LATER, we discover that we owe a huge debt to US Bank (about $2000)! We look into it and ask about it, when we finally get an answer, we are told the reserve DID have a small balance way back then and NEVER did CLOSE out, and had been accruing 19% interest ever since, hence our debt of $2000. We explained and explained, got sent in circles, only to eventually be told that they refused any further contact w/ us. we were forced to pay the debt (most of which was interest, which never wouldve accrued, if we'd have been given the opportunity to pay it off FOR REAL 3 years ago)!!!!!!

I hate USBANK! I have a mortgage by them the dealings in the last two years has been horrible. Every year in Febuary they return my payments and tell me I don't live in my house. Then I have to pay late fees of course and go through the trouble of waiting on hold for an hour then faxing them copies of my electric bill. I have had to call them many times for various reasons and every single person I've talked to is more than rude. Like someone else said they just talk over you and sometimes even hang up on you so that you have to wait on hold again another hour. Please stay away from this business.

Absolute thieves! Read the reviews yourself (USBank and US Bank). You can easily indentify, and should ignore, the couple of reviews submitted by the bank's management. I majored in business and I promise you that if you give this bank access to any of your money you WILL end up as ripped-off and pissed-off as everyone else who has had the misfortune of trusting US Bank. I just closed my account after they mailed my checks to an address I lived at three years ago. Then after being on hold and transferred around for over an hour, the fraud woman was rude, talked over me while I was speaking, and refused to let me deal with this by mail since that would be more convenient for me and froze my account and sent me to a branch. While I did want my account frozen, I have pnuemonia so it's not exactly convenient to have to drive to a branch and spend an hour trying to clear this up. Further, it turns out that they have no record of my last two check orders and was trying to tell me that my last correctly printed checks never even happened. Which if they looked at a check image they'd know that they're just wrong. Also the address they claim they last printed checks for, I didn't even print checks for, ever. And when I said I wanted to close the account the guy kept saying are you sure you want to do that? Like hello you've wasted over an hour of my time and I'm sick, and as far as I can tell your database is corrupted. What part of I don't trust you with my money and I want to close my account do you not understand? Horrible. Now I need to find a new bank.

I agree. US Bank is the worst. I had to jump through flaming hoops to change my last name on my account when I got married. Instead of changing my name, they closed a savings account I had opened as a child. 15 years of establishing credit down the drain! Wait, it gets better, they asked me to refrain from using my checking account. What do you mean stop activity on all accounts??? A week, several tears, and a confrontation with a hateful branch manager (the source of tears), my name was finally changed on my existing checking account and a new savings account was established. Or so I thought, until my personal checks arrived listing my maiden name. A new battle emerged as I fought to convince a customer service specialist (all 5-stars worth) to REMOVE the fees I had been charged for these worthless checks.

Why did I stick with them, I ask myself nearly everyday. I have been at the same local branch through three different names - Star, Firstar, and US Bank. Plus, I like(d) their online service. But even this service has taken a downward spin as the website is constantly unavailable. How is it possible to manage your financial accounts when customer service is poor, banking hours are extremely limited (I dont know about you, but the money I save at the bank is money I earn by working, yet my banking hours completely conflict with my work schedule), and online services are unreliable.

There is no way to manage your accounts. You don't enter the bank because they make you cry; you don't call the 800 number because they make you wait at least 20 minutes; instead, you incur multiple overdraft charges. I have never had an account balance less than $0, but I have had multiple overdraft charges in the last year. I have been with this bank for year, but to my knowledge, these deceptive practices are new. I guess my most recent experience of asking to talk to a supervisor about overdraft charges, being promised a return call, and listening to a voice mail from another customer service specialist the following day (guess what...I was at work) was enough to make me raise my white flag.

With their horrible customer service, unreliable online service, and deceptive check card practices, I would not recommend US Bank as a trusted financial service institution. I am currently in search of a more reliable source, but frankly, I would probably be more satisfied with a monkey managing my finances.

US Bank, if I could give you 0 stars, I would!

US Bank has some very deceptive practices regarding using your VISA debit card and how they reduce your available balance while a vendor has a hold. This can cause lots of problems, which I have been the victim of several times.

I use US Bank only as a "free" way to add money to my kids VISA Buxx cards, but it would have been cheaper to just pay the fees to VISA instead of getting hammered by US Bank periodically by their deceptive practices.

I cried because I had no shoes...until I met a person who had no feet! That's right folks...Like many of the other folks who had been taken for a ride by US Bank, I too had been cheated of a couple of hundred bucks. After being lied to multiple times, I just gave up while being amazed at the level of deception this bank would stoop to in order to save a paltry $200. Then I came across this wrenching story (dated 13 Oct 2006): http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=17322452& BRD=1719&PAG;=461& dept_id=25271&rfi;=6 Silas Braxton (who suffers from end-stage renal failure) and his wife Evelyn Casey-Braxton were served foreclosure papers by US Bank because...get this...US Bank lost their mortgage payment checks! An excerpt from the article: --------------------------------------- "In fact, we have a receipt to prove it," Casey-Braxton said. ( that they had paid their monthly mortage ) When the Braxtons went back to the bank to complain, they showed the clerk the receipt that proved they had paid their bills before the loan had been foreclosed on. They were stunned to hear that it didnt matter. "They told us that anyone can (make a fake) receipt," Braxton said. "Whats the point of giving them out if they wont honor their own receipts?" He said people at the bank made him and his wife feel like it was their fault, even though the bank had lost the checks. --------------------------------------- Let me repeat that: He said people at the bank made him and his wife feel like it was their fault, even though the bank had lost the checks. Read the article and do your own due diligence before doing business with this evil institution! Remember in the late 50s, Ford tried to save its embarrassing failure of a car by flooding magazines with ads that screamed "The Edsel is a success."? The public was not taken in by these flashy slogans. My question to those reading this review is: Will you fall hook, line and sinker for US Bank's 5 Star guarantee while they continue to hoodwink the likes of the Braxton couple? What did the Braxtons do to deserve this hell? By the way, this is not a chance happening! About two years back, I had come across another identical case of US Bank foreclosing on a property in an almost identical manner! A challenge: Find me a single bank among the nation wide chain of banks that is WORSE than US Bank! I am continually amazed at good hearted nature of the American public that pitches in to save a stranded whale or indulges in similar acts of random kindness. Do your good deed for the week. Print the above mentioned article and this review. Take it to your nearest US Bank location and give it to the customers who are unaware that they are selling their souls to the devil! Needless to say, if you have an account at the bank, close it out!!

This bank is widespread and they do not bother me much in the mail. They have convienient atm's and yes if you do see their commercials, they guarantee 5 star service. They do give good but not great intrest rates, but from what I have with it, these bankers are friendly and they know what they are doing.
