defiently not a jarhead thing. We do it in the AF. I got told to do an over-the-phone-physical. we told someone to get us a sample of a new fuel called "K9-P" telling them to get us 100yards of flightling, voice operated cranes, telling them that "Captain Dee" called for them(it's a seafood resteraunt here) ahhhhh too many.

My favorite is sending them after chem light batteries (the whole point is that chem lights don't need batteries). Also up there are keys to the 5 ton (again, no keys) and the ID ten Tango form, where someone writes idiot on a piece of paper if you're lucky. If you aren't so lucky they run you around a bit first. MORE COOL STUFF: ba1100n is a great and the Prick E anything is solid, but let me also add the the bucket of steam, not just air. You tell him to hold the bucket upside down and to move quickly so the steam stays fresh. I also love non-slip axle grease and a box of grid squares.

Classic military prank. We did this in the Canadian Navy as well. Popular items included 100 feet of shore line (shore line was the phone to the shore when alongside). The best part was we'd send them to the stokers or weapons techs and they'd clue in and say something like, "No, we've only got Atlantic shoreline here, you need Pacific, try the electricians..." and so on and so on. I was lucky and had been advised about this trick and took the opportunity to enjoy an extended smoke on the quarterdeck.

Send them for a bucket of A-I-R or to find some ba1100n's, how about sending the new comm. guy to ask the staff sgt. where the Prick E-6 is.

This isn't restricted to jarheads. Rookie athletes regularly get sent on hunts for bizarre stuff. The dumber they are, the more weird and obscene the request.
