You'd probably hear better confessions being a bartender.

I'd rather have a sister in the whorehouse than a brother in the clergy.

front line troops for the corrupt institution that is organised religion

A religious vocation...is esteemed by the catholics as holding a high degree of dignity and honor.Let us not forget, those of the clergy who wear the collar and cassock that serve God faithfully are burdened with the hatred and contempt the world has for this institution on account of others who have disgraced it.A brief lesson on priests for those without sin(critics and the uneducated)a priest in Russia almost single handedly feeds, clothes, and shelters 40,000 impoverished,a french priest in hungary is sentenced to 19 years hard-labour for concealing a confession of a suspected murderer from authorities(communists)due to the code of silence,an irish priest in China is made to stand for three days then confined to a cell that measured 3 foot in height and 5 foot in length for 18 months with 45 mins'outdoor leisure time per day;which he heard men next-door growing insane and crying after a week due to protecting the faithful.A polish priest from America(jesuit)serves 23 years in slave camps in Russia in order to administer the sacraments to the faithful under an assumed identity.A swiss-german priest(a friend of the family)was gaoled(jailed)for three years in South Africa and beaten on a regular basis for helping blacks.St.Maximillian kolbe(priest)took the place of a jew that was destined for execution in WWII.A million jews were saved by catholic priests during the great war by hiding them, and stealing them away to safety just to mention a few acts of these honorable men...another quick lesson for the ill-advised Hiroshima and Nagasaki were highly populated, with the japanese catholic communities, that is to say the great number of people pay very little attention to detail but judge a matter on popular belief? As for the clergy in my opinion some of the toughest, most valiant, holy, disciplined, most educated, and talented men I have ever encountered.

At their best, they include some of the finest and most decent human beings to walk the planet... at their worst, they can make Michael Jackson look saintly.

This is a great profession if you like to fill up the heads of weak and stupid losers with alot of fairy tales, superstition, magical farce and imaginary friend worship. Also good if you're a drunk, womanizer or child molester, because the church bureaucracy, especially in that criminal conspiracy known as the Catholic Church, will protect you.

Are my eyes deceiving me?? This is 69th on a list of 72?? Just one above drug dealer of all things?? What's with you people? Sure there are a few hypocrite preachers, but I believe the better portion of them sincerely feel called by God to spread the gospel.

For every bad minister who gets all the publicity, there are hundreds of good ones who are trying to serve God and His People.

This just shows how this world has degraded morally. At one time this would be in the top 10. When I didn't see it on the 1st page or the 2nd page, I thought they must have forgotten to put it on the list. Sure there have been some in recent years that has caused a disgraceful image (they are only human) but there are many more who deserve admiration for the good that they do.

To those who receive the calling, more power to you.

How will they know the truth unless someone tells them? The majority have integrity and feel "called" by God to do this very difficult job. Most people trust them, so they should be honest and wise.

First of all, I'm not a big fan of organized religion. Over the centuries, some of the most blatant examples of humanity's inhumanity and creative brutality have used religion as an excuse and a rallying cry. I feel very strongly that religion is a personal choice, and have never been receptive to attempts at converting me. Having said all that, I have a huge amount of respect for many members of the clergy. They serve in their faith, and provide comfort and inspiration for many people. Sincere members of the clergy give a great deal for very little return.

To all clergymen out there: you have the right to remain silent! I refuse to go through life holding my ears! I'm NOT interested in being led to Christ or being exorcised or whatever the heck you want to do with me. I'm living a perfect, atheistic life, and I don't need you to come mess everything up for me! Jesus, save me from your followers! I'm not bothered by you, just by your freak-and-fanatic club! I would not if you paid me take up this profession. Don't waste my time.

The best would have been a religion-free society. Many clergies have the opinion that they are better persons than the rest of the society, with higher moral & stuff. The fact is the opposite. In stead of being leaders in forming the new society, the have always had opinions that most people had 50 years ago. That's sad & the opposite of what Jesus had in mind. He wanted to include all sorts of humans, not crowd many of them as most clergies do. :-(
