Im mathematically inept so I could never do it. But, I admire those that do.

You walk around in one of those pilot's uniforms looking like a million bucks while pretty air waitresses bring you a glass of milk. Who wouldn't want to be a pilot?

Seems like this was a sweet deal back in the day - you get the respect of a doctor, the glamor of a pro athlete, the vacation time of a teacher, and the money of an accountant, all rolled up in one nice little package. But things have changed. Ticket prices aren't keeping pace with fuel prices so airlines are doing major belt-tightening. Even senior-level pilots are getting let go. It's a shame.
The chance to go anywhere in the world for free on a whim. Nice pay for nice hours. The excitement of travel. Seemingly low stress unless there's some sort of crash issue. The math and science involved throw me though. If it weren't for that...Also maybe the stress of working to head pilot. Other than that...ideal.
Being a pilot would be fun at first, until the mechanical failure or the terrorists take over the plane happens.

I don't like to fly and the thought of having so many lives in my hands is just too much for me.

I wanted to be a pilot when I was little. I still do, but maybe on another life. I already have other plans for this one...

I really want to be a pilot when i get older! I got to co-pilot a private plane once it was so much fun! You just feel like your free up in the air, and they get good hours and good pay. I love just being in the air and feeling like your flying your self and looking at the clouds and going through thiem, everything about it excites me except maybe crashing but i try not to think about that.
A lot of things about this job seem great - free travel, good pay, a ceiling on the number of hours you have to work, lots of independence... But I think it would be tough to have a job that placed so many lives in your hands each day. If something goes really wrong up there, that's a lot of pressure.
