I give them credit for trying to be different and make a funk record but all in all this was a dud and the begginning of the end for these great rockers.

Yes, I like HOT SPACE. And yes, it is a strange album. Quite minimalistic for Queen. Well, the Jazz album had been so also, and so was The Game in a way. Anyways song by song ... Staying power is superb and energetic! Body Language so original and enigmatically simple and silly, but it sounds FANTASTIC, base, synth and Freddie´s vocals!! Cool cat is a great delicious song. Life is real (song for Lennon)is beautiful and surrealistically sad. Calling all girls rocks steady and comfortably with a great rock finale! Back chat is a bit hammering to the ear , but good rhythm and voice, don´t quite like that "electronic" drum solo in the middle. Queen music normally tends to sound quite eternal, not old-fashioned, though clearly reflecting the decade it was composed, but that solo is very tacky eighties... Put out the fire is ok, prefer the live version though... and don´t reaally like Las Palabras de Amor, Queen no suena bien en español this time. It does en "OH MUCHACHO!" en Who needs ... Read more

Whilst this may not be the best Queen album, it still out performs most of the stuff out there. The songs are good and, when performed live, are a gread deal "rockier" than on the record. For the record, I think that Staying Power is the best on the album and yes, I do like Body Language.

Altough "Body Language is an extremly strange song, the rest of the CD is really cool. My most favorite song is on there. That song is "Put Out the Fire". Not only is the song very well written, but it also has some very strong political opinions which I think are correct and well stated. Another great song is "Calling All Girls". Though I'm not exactly sure what the song is about, it's still fun to listen to. The cover of the CD is neat, but kind of strange. Is it just me, or does Roger Taylor look like Frodo Baggins on that particular cover? Hmmm.....Well, I hope this comment wasn't too pathetic; and if not, please rate it helpfull!!!:)

Why is this CD even on this list. This one of the worst ablums ever made. Should be in the catagory of "What were they thinking" Queen start of their down fall!

Ah, yes, the dreaded Hot Space LP. Quite an interesting album and still way more than worthy of a five-star rating. Hot Space contains that Queen song that everyone loves (and Vanilla Ice sucks for stealing it) "Under Pressure". Oh, and the terrific "Back Chat", "Staying Power" and the touching song in memory of John Lennon, "Life Is Real". And we have the tune that everyone cringes when they hear the title of, the infamous "Body Language", the song that the censors have chased after time and time again, along with it's single cover art and video. I hate to admit it, but I sorta like that song...the music is terrific even if the lyrics are sort of silly and it's got a good feel to it. And finally we have the cute little number "Dancer" with the German at the end. (Note to whom it may concern: that line means, "Good morning, you wish to be woken up.") That's always been one of my favorites off the album. Once again the performance of Queen & Co. was superb, with quissential voc... Read more
