10/24/2004 | What are we talking about here, world peace, or inner peace? Depends on the scale. I kinda have to give up on the world peace idea, as nice as it would be, since it's just not possible to get everyone to suddenly be okay with each other and be hunky-dory; that's just not how it works. Peace was easier to find when I was a child; way back when I didn't have to worry about bills and when I thought all the grown-ups had everything under control (boy, was I wrong). The closest I can get to peace is when I look up into a clear night sky and forget about all the things that make life complicated, or when I wake up on a weekend morning (er, okay, afternoon) to see my husband laying next to me. Peace might be a momentary thing, but I guess that's what makes it so valuable.
