I get the feeling that he has the talent to do better if he pushed himself harder.

His elevation cycle , if a bit drawn out at the end depict an original and mind expanding universe Good "modern" sci fi

Finished reading "Earth" recently and was extremely pleased with it. Engaging novel of our near future that was well thought out, chock full of interesting people and premises and made me uncomfortable too! Excellent extrapolation of technology and completely believable.

Varied stuff. His latest trilogy was excellent, but his early books all have the same plot, or at least the same characters.
