If you are looking for Sherlock Holmes on the Kindle, get this one. It was prepared with care -- the quotation marks are real typesetter's quotes, the dashes are proper em dashes, and it does justice to the excellent text. I've tried several Kindle editions of Sherlock Holmes books, and the majority of them look like they were done on a typewriter. The Kindle is capable of much better. Get this one.

I am deeply satisfied with my purchase. Its is a great edition for those who want to have all 52 short stories and all four full length novels in one lightweight book. I have no problem bringing it anywhere with me, so it is always available to break out and enjoy one of the Holmes Stories. I recommend it if you are a fan of the series and want to have on work that gives you access to all the stories.

This is a Kindle-specific review by AGB. Value for money: an excellent discount set (but with a few faults) of one of the classics of literature: the 4 long novels and the 5 volumes of short stories. Presentation and Format: clean and attractive, with the text set fully justified.. Cover etc.: there's a simple, attractive cover, though no further illustrations. Opening Linked Table of Contents: there's a full Linked ToC to either the beginning of each of the novels, or each of the short stories. There's an error in the ToC of Volume 6, "The Return of Sherlock Holmes" - avid readers will be surprised at the inclusion of a hitherto unknown Holmes story, "Murder in Westminster"! This is in fact simply the second half of the previous, correct story, "The Adventure of the Second Stain" ("Murder...." is a newspaper headline included in the text of the story...). (Note: the "Linked ToC" enables you skip to predetermined points in the file - individual books, chapter openings et... Read more

I read all these stories when I was young. I re-read them a few years ago and enjoyed them once again. These stories are like a snapshot in time.

"Complete Sherlock Holmes" contains all the Sherlock Holmes stories. I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes as a teenager and as a young adult and still dip into a Holmes mystery once in a while. Arthur Conan Doyle created a unique and enduring character when he first wrote of Sherlock Holmes. However, I do not give these stories that one extra star because some of the stories just do not have any of the magic of the best of the stories. If this book is taken in big, fast, gulps, the reader may tire of Sherlock's less social traits. I think this collection is best if taken a little at a time. There are some terrific stories here. But, if you insist on devouring several stories at a sitting, the terrific stories will not seem as terrific when ingested along with some of the less terrific stories and things may get confused in your head. Do read the book.

As a fan of Sherlock Holmes, I really liked reading the four novels and fifty-six short stories contained in this book. However, the type is smaller than I would have liked so if you have poor vision I would advise you purchase the novels separately. Also, after reading through the book a second time, the binding started to warp and a few pages came out. Therefore, if you plan to give this book a lot of use, it might not last.

Worth reading, despite the fact that Doyle frequently cheats. Most interesting in that many of these mysteries are not violent at all, and in several cases are not even crimes. This is an interesting counterpoint to more recent crime fiction. Strong stories: Scandal in bohemia, Copper Beeches, Veiled lodger. Weak: Valley of Fear, Silver Blaze (Doyle doesn't know anything about horse racing)

I am a huge fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and obviously of Sherlock Holmes. The cases also have me guessing until the end. I also love how Dr. Watson is such a great character-the lovable, agreeable sidekick who never seems to know what's going on. And how Holmes is the cold, unfeeling genius who you can't help but adore.

I have not read all of Sir Conan Doyle's Sherlock stories, but I can tell you that The Hound of the Baskervilles is a wonderful, chilling, and exciting mystery. It takes place on the beautiful Dartmoor of England, and a man named Sir Charles Baskerville dies mysteriously...I won't tell you the whole story, but I can tell you I give the book five shining stars. If you are a fan of the book, I suggest you go on Amazon.com or some other site and search for 'The Hound' in the movie section. You should run into one version made 2003. It was made for the PBS Exxon-Mobile Masterpiece Theatre, and out of the 6 movie versions of The HOund I have seen it is by far the best. Identification tips- starring Richard Roxburogh and Ian Hart. Made 2003. PBS with Exxon Mobil masterpiece theatre. WHEN I BOUGHT IT I WATCHED 4 TIMES IN JUST 2 DAYS!!! give it a try

Sherlock Holmes is the man of all mysteries, so I mean no one can fade him, not Columbo, not Matlock. So if you are really into mystery books and stuff, I think that you should get this book.
