A show about six 30 somethings in London. This is one of my all time favorite British comedy shows. Friends is Coupling lite. I love how they are not so hung up on being so pc in this show. It's funny, raunchy and "real" in their situations. Funny, funny, stuff. Do check it out.

I suggest the posters here giving 1 star watch documentaries on WW2 instead as they clearly have sense of humour failures. The first 3 series are in fact laugh out loud funny. Great scripting, a strong cast all round populated by quirky characters, the best being the very random Jeff. Although there are 3 male and 3 female leads that's about all it has in common with 'Friends'. The humour is a lot more near the knuckle and probably too 'raunchy' for the more prissy and uptight among us.

Coupling is sort of a British version of friends except the group is mostly made up of couples. This rather risky show will bring tears to your eyes, it is so funny. The show is about the interaction of a group of couples, some are even exes who are still friends but are with some one else. Nine times out of ten when a British comedy is picked up for American television it is usually pretty good such as All in the Family and Threes's company. Update: Coupling has been picked up by NBC and it looks terrible especially compared to the original which is 100 times better from what I have seen. Another update the U.S. coupling was mercifully canned. In a situation like this you can't take the old scripts and expect it to work in an American setting. All in the family was taken from a show in the U.K. called Until Death do us Part and they are completly different other than the main characters who have very little in common with their transatlantic counter parts. That is why All in the famil... Read more

best sitcom in a many a year. 100 times better than 'Friends' and better than any of the nominations in the BBC 'top 10'.

Coupling is one of many British sitcoms that American TV networks have tried to copy by taking a script changing it a little and using an American cast instead. The difference with Coupling is that you get to see both British and American versions, whereas with most of these spin offs you won't. The problem is that British audiences are less shocked and so the comedy is more daring. I just wonder if with Coupling there'll be a flood of other British shows.

Probably one of the best sitcoms we Brits have at the moment, with Jeff's continual explainations for the tiniest little sex-related thing (the melty man, Captain Subtext, the tiny guillotine)still hilarious, while his mix-ups are excruciatingly funny. Without Jeff, this show would be pretty run of the mill, even though the comic timing is excellent from all concerened.

I love this show! It is hilarious! This is a British sitcom about couples. It is similar to Friends as there are 3 of each sex, that meet up in the same bar to chat. The difference being that the men talk amongst themselves as do the women. They can be talking about the same thing, but the men will see it one way and the women will see something else. It's always fun to see one of them dig a hole for themselves (foot in mouth disease) and then try to get themselves out when the group gets together. It's rather risque, and I don't know what will happen when they try to do the American version of this show. The Brits seem to have the risque/double entendres down to a science. Then again, Whose Line Is It Anyway? ended up being pretty good, but Red Dwarf totally bombed, so we'll see. I recommend this show though. You will laugh until your stomach hurts!

Coupling is the funniest sit com being made now. It is smart, but not obtuse. It is sexy, but not digusting. It has incredibly tight scripts. And if you are laughing at the beginning, you will being dying when it all comes together at the end. Stop shaking the caravan Jeffrey.

Weak and unfunny rip-off of Three's Company is just a bunch of weak sex jokes, and uninteresting characters. The actors ought to get a lawyer, and sue the writers.
