Enjoyed the movie series and I have a murky recollection of the t.v. series. If it was anything like the movies I would enjoy it. Leo G. Carroll was perfect as Cosmo Topper.

The Kerbys were on a skiing vacation in Europe and got trapped in an avalanche with their would be rescuer, a St. Bernard named Neil. All died but went back to the USA haunting the Kerbys' former house now owned by a stuffy banker, Cosmo Topper, played by Leo G. Carroll. The Kerbys took a liking to Topper and decided to loosen him up. Neil after polishing off his brandy keg became a lush, and was constantly drunk around the Topper place. This was great fun!

I have always enjoyed the show. I guess you don't see it in reruns because the Kirby's (and Neil's) social consumption of alcohol is not politically correct. (Political correctness, itself a misnomer, can go to hell as far as I am concerned)

This was a very funny show with sophisticated actors and humor. Anne Jeffreys and Robert Sterling played so well off each other and of course, Leo G. Carroll was so droll. (and don't forget Neil, the boozy St Bernard).

I don't remember seeing this when it was orginally on, but I have some of the episodes on tape. It was a lighthearted comedy of its day.
