Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List

The Epicurious app imagines itself to be an iPhone-friendly version of the website. Unfortunately, interaction on the device is sort of awful presuming for some reason that you have none of the same needs as you do when visiting the site. Instead of a standard recipe search of their full database, there's this strange interface where you pick a main ingredient from a limited list and a few other things before viewing results. To their credit, this page does contain a search bar, but it may as well not exist at all because I've never gotten any search results when I use it. Beyond that, you get to view a lovely ad as a splash screen while awaiting your results if any do, in fact, exist, usually featuring some desperate attempt from yahoo to remain relevant without offering anything new. I'm not sure why I haven't just deleted this app already. It's much easier to visit the website deskside and email the recipe or ingredients list on my phone.
