For many and various reasons, first of all the idea the show had to keep going by doing a James Bond and changing the actor, fantastic, but I'm pretty sure Who did it first. I've only seen a few of the old Hartnell and Throughton episodes because they're next to impossible to find in the US but the campy goofy fun of both of their incarnations was great fun. I actually didn't see any John Pertwee until after the first series with Peter Davidson so I was a tad confused until I hit the local book store and discovered the actual order of the actors for the show, but in true doctor who fashion I'm getting things out of chronological order so let me start again. I, like many was introduced to the doctor when tom baker was the doc, and that of all things by total accident when I was watching creature double feature on ch. 48 back in the rabbit ears days and the signals must have gotten crossed or something cause next thing I know I'm watching some british actor running from a Nazi fighter p... Kind of fun. The only thing that puzzled me, however, is how the evil and masterful Daleks, who were bent on conquering the universe with their vastly superior technology were unable to climb stairs.

I loved Dr. Who from the beginning on. Admittedly, Tom Baker was my favorite, but that is true for a lot of fans. Each of the doctors left their mark on the series, and none of them were bad. Despite coming over from Britain, the humor is still clear, and the storylines interesting. I still watch the VHS tapes these days and hope to collect them all as they are release soon by season.

The Brits sent this one over and it was a hoot. It didn't make much sense and wasn't consistent but that was ok because you could pick it up anytime and not have missed anything.

Surprisingly good; one of the few shows I actually remember, and which held up to viewing later as an adult.

Doctor Who is the best Science fiction show ever produced. Shame on the sci-fi channel for not showing it.

I was a huge fan of Doctor Who as I was growing up. I recently rediscovered the Doctor and have enjoyed watching the old episodes on VHS and DVD. This is an excellent show and should be commended for it's longevity. It is great for kids and adults alike.

The world's longest running science fiction lasted 26 seasons plus two cinematic adventures, a television movie, countless books, numerous magazines, and priceless memories for the legions of Who fans. Join the good Doctor on his many adventures through time and space, and let your imagination take you anywhere

Doctor Who never got off to a good start. It was up against so many great shows, that it seemed very dull comparing them.
