A tremendous puncher with a fighter's heart, the one glaring flaw of Felix Trinidad, Jr. was the fact that he was, essentially, a single-dimensional fighter who often relied on the big punch when a fighter with more talent fought him aggressively. In any case, Trinidad will be remembered for his controversial win against Oscar Dela Hoya (who decided to sit on his points lead instead of continuing his boxing clinic against the outboxed Trinidad) and his destruction against the great Bernard Hopkins (who exposed his single dimension as a fighter); as well as his recent unanimous loss against the aged-Roy Jones, Jr. where he was outclassed and beaten convincingly. Nevertheless, Trinidad can also lay claim to impressive wins against Olympians Fernando Vargas and David Reid, both whom ill-advisedly decided to fight Trinidad punch for punch (and suffered the consequences as a result); and a clearly-aged Pernell Whitaker, who could not box in his usual slick fight-style against the forward ch... Felix Trinidad beat Fernando Vargas,David Reid,William Joppy by knockout and tko,But I know and everybody knows Oscar did enough to win the fight and got outclass by Hopkins and Winky Wright.

I believe Felix Trinidad is the most exciting boxer of his era he fought super fighters and defeated them all he had a hard time against hopkins but he showed toughness by hanging in there and giving his all i believe he beat Dela hoya fair and square because dela hoya should have finished the fight and not run away from it and waist our times trinidad is probably one of the best sluggers in boxing history.

Hes a real fighter...But skillfully he lacks many qualities...His strength is his power and determination...His weaknesses are his lack of defense, weak chin, and poor ring generalship. If a fighter does not just stand right in front of him, he will lose, simple as that. If you can box or have a good jab, you can beat Tito...

He got beat good by Oscar De La Hoya but got the decision, and got knocked out by Hopkins. If he can beat Winky Wright in May and beats Hopkins in a rematch, maybe I'll add another star, maybe. UPDATE: Since I was going to give Trinadad one star if he beat Winky I thinks it's more than fair to remove one since he got his rear end handed to him last night by Winky Wright. I always felt Trinadad was over rated in his comeback and in his career overall. Here's three stars for Trinadad who in my eyes, at least is over rated!

Your seeing the reincarnation of A new age Tommy Hearns in this guy here. I have to admit i hated him at one point and called him overrated but when he retired i wanted to see more of him because i knew when he came back he would be 10 times better. He pooped on a flaming Mayorga (who i hate and shouldn't be allowed to fight ever again) but the thing that i believe that he qualifies as an all time great is that he won his first title at 18. Really was outclassed against DeLa Hoya and ducked Chavez early in his career as well as Norris if he would of fought those 2 guys this is a top 3 welterweight ever.

Felix Trinidad is a very explosive boxer. his only weakness is the fact that he is a head hunter and always fights toe to toe. he showed great improvement on mayorga but i think he needs to win a decision against winky before even thinking about hopkins. PARA PUERTO RICO

power puncher, infinite stamina, good technique, courage, and an unbreakable chin. his problem is his lack of speed. his only loss was to hopkins who boxed tito senseless. even though he was given the decision against ODLH, jerry roth and another judge screwed DLH and gave the fight to tito, it was a BS decision. as for his hand wraps: you dont get as much power as tito does because of friggin hand wraps. tito is a KO artist who gives great fights and looks to fight any1.

Trinidad for me is just another piece of sh*t to me. How in the f**k tito's fans are going to say that trinidad is the best,Trinidad is just bringing more sh*t to his own inland and his people do yall believe that sh*t of his power punches, hell no. he just wants to let his stupid fans know he hits hard. just to make his own stupid people believe that he is strong and Powerfull. In fact in all his fights that I seen of tito I never seen him Strong, he is just a fat little punk full of sh*t like his fans. Titos fans outhere dont get to happy and exited, because sooner or later your freaking idol of trinidad is going to get hurt bad some guy is going to kill him specially in the weight he is in right now in fact Trinidad is trespassing Bernard Hopkins property and he is going to throw him out again in the rematch just like he did in their first match but this time is worse so you puertoricans start diggin because wont go back a live his head is going to be executed by Hopkins.

Overrated one dimensional fighter. He could only hit so hard because of his illegal hand wraps. He had to re-wrap his hands when he fought Bernard, where did the power go! But he is an entertaining fighter who searches for the KO.

Outside of punching power, Trinidad is seriously overrated-demonstrated by his one sided stoppage by Bernard Hopkins and his gift decision in the Oscar Dela Hoya fight.

Trinidad was a good fighter. Correction...IS a good fighter since he is coming out of retirement. Not the greatest pound for pound like his fellow Puerto Ricans think, but good none the less. I think the win against De La Hoya wasnt convincing at all and gave Bernard Hopkins the blueprint needed to further exploit his weaknesses. I look forward to seeing him fight soon, that is, if Shane Mosley's lost to Winky Wright doesnt scare him back into retirement.

Did a lot but never beat De La Hoya convincingly and was exposed by Bernard Hopkins. Should make the Hall of Fame, but retired way to earlier. Good as hell when matched right, but his shaky chin betrayed him a few times. Not as great as some of his fans think.

Trinidad is an exciting but lets face it very one dimensional. A hard knock out puncher, suspect shin, and a mountain of heart whats not to like. but he has been outboxed badly by de la hoya and brutally by Bernard Hopkins. I find it amazing he went on a 40 wins undefeated. But you know whats really cool about him is, he is known for being a huge puncher with a professional record of an amazing 41-1 (34ko's), but a 51-6 (12ko's) thats an impressive showing for improvement.(i actually think he is a 3 and a half, but they didn't have the option)

Felix is a completely one sided fighter. He definitly has a gift for throwing a great left hook but thats it. A left hook, Oscar de la Hoya won that fight and got robbed and Bernard Hopkins showed you all how one sided Felix Trinidad is.

I can't explain why, I just don't like this guy. He seems like a cocky little bum who got a gift in beating De La Hoya. Hopkins put him away with little or no problem at all. He's a mediocre fighter who should have never had a belt to begin with.

I have to give him credit but not like you guys. I mean the guy has power, but whats the use of power when you cant hit a guy like Roy Jones. I know all you tito fans dont want to hear this but the guy is over rated and dont deserve the credit that he receives, and thats why I put guys like Roy Jones, Sugar Shane, Zab Judah, and De la Hoya in front of this Trinidad. as a matter of fact, you and I both know that De la Hoya beat him Clean that night. could you imagine what Roy Jones or even Shane Mosley would do to him. If I was Trinidad I would be smart and avoid Jones the same way I avoided Mosley...

Felix Trinidad has brought back the true meaning of boxing to the sport. Trinidad is a sincere, and dedicated boxer which trains very hard in tern makes him a dangerous fighter. He defintlely is one of the best boxers to come along. I would like to see Trinidad get it on with Hopkins, I belive Trindad will beat Hopkins. What will happen next Roy Jones JR? is yet to be seen.

Great fighter but definitely NOT the best! Although he carries incredible punching power in both hands, his chin is suspect and his ovreall boxing skills are questionable. De la Hoya DID beat him not because he was the hardest or fastest puncher but because he was the BETTER BOXER! Trinidad is a uni-directional fighter and will have trouble against De la Hoya in there rematch and will most definitely NOT get the decision against Roy Jones Jr!

tale of the tape- Fact of the matter is, the reason why de la hoya ran so fast in that fight is because half way thru it, he felt something he never felt in his whole career, a powerful punch. The reason why, he ran, for dear life was to keep doubt of the fans that he could've, should've, would've won, just like all his other adversaries. De la Hoya did not want to become a statistic for trinidads knockout list, just as whitaker(who was floored several times), thiam (who was tko'd with a body shot), david reid(who was destroyed),vargas(who has felt the puerto rican wrath), joppy( who was tko'd in the 5th). For future opponents WATCH OUT for this guy (hopkins, jones, etc.) because he has something, that every fighter that he has faced, has never felt before in their careers! So give credit where credit is due and stop being so jealous of the puerto rican great

FELIX "TITO"TRINIDAD, IS NOT ONLY A GREAT BOXER, HE IS THE GREATES BOXER OF ALL TIME. WHY? YOU MAY ASK, BECAUSE HE FIGHTS THE BEST OF THE BEST AND NOT ONLY DOES HE BEATS THEN, HE DESTROYS THEN. FOR EXAMPLE, VARGAS GLASS JAW , THATS TITO'S WORK , I GUARANTEE YOU THAT HE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. WHAT About david reid,AND WE ALL SEEN JOPPY, i just feel sorry for these guys, THEY GOT HIT WITH A DESTRUCTIVE FORCE CALLED, TITO TRINIDAD, THE HURRICANE OF BOXING. TRINIDAD IS A SAVAGE, A DESTROYER CREATED BY CREATOR WHO REFUSES TO LOSE, AND TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, I DON'T SEE TITO LOSING ANYTIME SOON. HIS DEDICATION , HIS SKILLS, AND HIS LOVE FOR BOXING, IT'S JUST UNHEARD OF. WHEN TRINIDAD FIGHTS,TOO HIM IT'S NOT JUST A BOXING MATCH, HE MAKES A WAR, BECAUSE HE FIGHTS FOR HIS COUNTRY, AND HIS PEOPLE, AND THE PRIDE OF HIS NATIVE LAND. I JUST HOPE THAT THE PEOPLE THAT READ THIS UNDERSTANDS,THAT FELIX TRINIDAD IS THE MICHAEL JORDAN OF BOXING, AND IF YOU WANT TO SEE HIS GREATNESS FOR YOURSELF,JUST W... Read more

Felix Trinidad is truly the best pound for pound, punch for punch, the best boxer today. He has the strength to be the champ at any weight class. He fears no one and won't back down from anyone. If Mosley's the best, than why is he backing down from Zab Judah? Why doesn't he move up and challenge Fernando Vargas? He, just like Roy Jones, fights no name boxers. Sure he got a break against Oscar, but think about it, Oscar isn't all that great anyway. Tito is the best. Joppy learned it, and so will Hopkins. Soon after Jones will learn it too......Felix "Tito" Trinidad is the greatest!!

No matter what the record shows and how much his ass kissers cheer, he truly lost to Oscar De La Hoya and only the "bought" judges of Don King gave him that fight. Only a rematch will show how much of a weaker boxer he really is. Tito sucks!!! and always will.

Tito Trinidad is without a doubt one of the greatest in the sport and he will go in to history as the boxer that fought the best. After dismantling Joppy now the non-believers are not laughing at Tito with Roy Jones. In my opinion Roy Jones is a coward because is always avoiding the tough opponents, always picking the easy fights. He might have the gift of boxing but he has no heart. Jones said that if Tito wants to fight him it has to be by the end of this year or it will be no fight. Come on Roy, Tito is fighting is September and have to gain eight pounds to fight you. That statement is a clear indication that Roy Jones is a coward and doesn’t want to fight Tito; he just want to show every body that he is the man. Maybe he convinced the ignorants of the sport of boxing but not me. Tito is a true middleweight and was starving to dead in the welterweight division. Now, he is in his natural weight and proved it after the destruction of William Joppy. When asked Bernard Hopkins how he wi... Read more

Tito is NO MATCH FOR ROY JONES JR. Tito, please don't piss off MR JONES. You saw what happen to Montell G. For all you uneducated and non-boxing people ROY JONES JR will make Tito think about retirement. ROY will come into this fight so ready because of all the hoopla about Tito's power and heart. Ok, Tito beat up a defenseless Joppy. If you watch fight you should have noticed that Joppy has no defense. Well hell, I could have knocked out Joppy in the first round. You see, Hopkins is not going to go out like Joppy. Hopkins is a sneaky and skillfull fighter who will knock Tito off his high horse. First, Tito needs to learn English if he is planning on keeping the US championship belts. You cannot be an US boxing champ and cannot speak an ounce of English. That's why Hopkins is going to beat the "hell" out of Tito. One thing for sure Tito will go to heaven!!! Hey, Tito is a good boxer, not a great one. In a rematch, I believe Oscar will knock out Tito. Oscar has a great trainer now. Peac... Read more

I think that Felix Trinidad is just a coward. He doesn't even know hwo to fight. The only reason he wins is because he has Don Sissy. Trinidad lost to Oscar De La Hoya, which was very easy to see, but Don Sissy was part of Felix Trinidad's win. It's time that Trinidad gets what he has always deserved......A HUGE BEATING by William Joppy tomorrow. I even have hundreds of dollars for Joppy, he WILL win.
