A talented European of the next generation. Approaching the toughness of North American players but dirty with the stick - absolutely unacceptable - ever. I don't think Americans appreciate the gravity of attacking someone with the stick. You can carve somebodys eye out with a flick of the wrist. It is, in reality, paramount to attacking a baseball player with a bat. If they take fighting out of the game, you'll see a lot more of this guys dirty, dangerous stick work.

So much talent, and great in the clutch, but should score a lot more than he does.

I doubt that we will ever see a player like Forsberg in the future. A player with incredible skills but who still cares for the team. Nobody works harder than him both in defense and offense. He has got everything, except a healthy body.

The absolute best in the game, hands down. He does it all, to put it in the best possible terms " THE TOTAL PACKAGE"!!!

Very deserving of the Hart Trophy (league MVP) in 2003. One of the best two-way players in NHL history. Scary to think what kinda numbers he could put up if he wasn't injured so often and if he wasn't so unselfish.

He is a good stickhandler, but I definitely feel he is overrated.

When he's healthy there's not a better talent or smarter player in the league...he see's the ice better than anybody other than gretzky and his puck handling skills are unmatched...If I had to start a franchise forsberg would be the player I would build around...Foppa has a world championship, olympic gold medal, and two stanley cups, is a winner wherever he goes......The Hockey Gods have truly blessed the NHL for bringing his talents to the league...ENOUGH SAID P.S. its only fitting I give him a 5 ..after all he is Peter The GREAT

Are you kiddin me? There must be a mistake here...I`ve been a Flyers fan my whole life...and I don`t even question the fact that Peter Forsberg is the best player in the NHL. He can HIT, SCORE, PASS and probably best of all skate like someone shot nitrous-oxide up his ass. PLUS the boy has heart...lots of it. KARIA can suck a lemon

To me, Peter Forsberg is head and shoulders above the rest of the league. My only knock on Forsberg is that he can't seem to stay healthy for an entire season. But that's more a reflection of his style of play. Some people rate players according to how many goals they score. I'm more interested in the total package. What good is a player who scores 100 points if he's a -5 or -10? Sure, the points come in handy, but when more goals are scored against you than for you, the math is simple. You don't win. People can keep their Paul Karyias. With Karyia, you need people who can check, bang, dig, and play defense. Forsberg does all of these things by himself. If Forsberg ever became a selfish player only caring about his point totals, he'd be a 150 point per year man.

Who do you think got the better of the Lindros trade? The Avalanche (then, the Nordiques) got Forsberg and a host of others because Lindros wouldn't go to Quebec. Forsberg has turned into one of the best players in the world and led the Avalanche to the Cup several years ago. If the Flyers could turn back time, even with the greatness of Lindros, they wouldn't do the trade.

    Better than Sakic when healthy.
