There is a bug in their system. During the final final review, it give a alert about me not posting a wages, tips line. This is after the other normal review and it is after they asked for payment for their online service. So I did it again even though it made no sense. It doubled my wages and now I owed $30,000 in taxes instead of $5,000. So I tried to fix it by going to the income page but it looks fine and is not double. But when I get to the summary it is double. It is ghosting a duplicte W-2. It took me 90 mins to get my call answered and then the lady had no clue what to do. I asked for the supervisor and then she hanged up on me. The next morning I called again. They said I would have use the CD version and start all over again. I asked for a refund. They say they have a zero refund policy for the online version. Turbo Tax sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used Turbo Tax to e-file my taxes. They charged me $29.99 to file them and the website showed that it was free. Also, they never filed my taxes. After a month of waiting for my refund, I called the IRS, and they told me that they didn't receive anything. I was soooo ticked!!!! I ended up re-doing my taxes on Taxcut, (H&R Block) and I've had the best luck with them. They filed my taxes right away and I can finally get my money. Although, they charge too, at least I know they filed it!

I am trying to load a CD and it will not, so I try to contact their support. After two hours of waiting on the phone I decided to send a message over their website. They respond in a couple days and tell me I can find a copy in my downloads. I have yet to figure out how to get to my downloads as any user ID and passwords I use do not find a copy of the software. I will not pay for a product that is so poorly supported. Next year it is off to Tax plan X, but no longer will I support this poor excuse for a program.

I would give it a totally 000000000. TURBO TAX FREEDOM ONLINE SUCKS. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE FREE...........BULLS....T ITS NOT. THEY CHARGE U FOR THE STATE, $34.95 PLUS THEY CHARGE $29.99 TO DEPOSIT IN YOUR ACCOUNT. WHEN I DECIDED TO JUST E-FILE MY FEDERAL FOR "FREE" THEY DECIDED TO CHARGE ME $29.99 FOR THAT. I ALSO REALIZED THAT IN DOING MY OWN TAXES BY "PAPER" I GAINED AN EXTRA $500.00 IN FEDERAL AND THEY SAID I "OWED" THE STATE AND IT TURNED OUT THAT I WAS GETTING A COUPLE OF HUNDRED BACK. THERE SYSTEM SUCKS AND THE PROBLEM IS PROBABLY B'CAUSE THE DO NOT GIVE U THE "SCHOOL TAX" FOR YOU STATE, WHICH NYC. IF YOU WANT A SITE.......GO TO "TAXACT". THEY HAVE A LOT MORE QUESTIONS BUT THEY ONLY CHARGE U $13.95 FOR THE STATE. THE ONLY THNK IS THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY IT UP FRONT. THE FEDERAL IS FREE IF YOU FALL INTO THE SALARY BRACKET.

Customer support is really, really bad. In fact, you can't speak with a live person. Turbo Tax claims to have a process where you can put in your telephone number and a live person will call you back in 15 minutes - DON'T BELIEVE THIS. There is a serious problem with this system - it doesn't work. You'll receive a phone call (a recorded message) that says "several attempts were made to contact you" and then they hang up. I have one comment for Turbo Tax "Got People?" If not, your competition is going to leave you in the dust!

NEVER USE TURBO TAX. They are incompetent, unprofessional and unreliable, and because of their mess up, I was charged of more than $1000 in penalties from the IRS.

I have had a horrible experience with turbo tax and would not reccomend this product. If I could give them a zero rating I would. The Turbo Tax program itself, is well done and easy to use; however the customer service is severly lacking. I have spent a great deal of my time on the phone with them for serveral months, and have yet to have the issue resolved. They have promised send a refund check and each time I call they say to expect it in 4-5 weeks. It never arrives. Another call to customer service and they keep telling me to call back... but won't give me a name to ask for or won't call me. This has been going on for over a year. I am still out over $400.

Turbo tax sucks. They messed up my state refund to the tune of $1800.00 and wont do a damn thing about it. And there gurantee is crap. When you are in the middle of alot of financial problems and there program tells you you are going to get back $1823.00 even after several error checks and the IRS tells you no you only get back $400.00 because of turbo taxes program error. But you have been waiting for a month already to pay your mortgage and buy grocerys so excited because you will be back on your feet. Then this , and will turbo tax do anything to resolve it. NO.... When you call them you hold for an hour then you report the problem they say they will give it to an investigator and to check back. I checked back they lost the report ( how ironic) so I had to file it again. Whats it going to do anyway they 100% gurantee dosent cover this problem.

Wow. One would think that an online product like Turbotax 2007 deluxe would care about the quality of its, well, online product! Turns out that the opposite is the case. While preparing my 2007 taxes the other week, I came across a child care credit calculation page with a programming glitch. They were accidentally showing the same value twice, and after subtraction, always ending up with a deduction of "0". Of course, my first concern was that my taxes would be wrong. So I called them, waiting 40 minutes to speak with a rep. After very expertly assisting me with manually checking the actual (generated) form to prove that it would be submitted properly, things got really strange. I asked him if they needed any information to report the broken web page in the app. He actually - wouldn't acknowlege my question! Instead, he robotically went into a repetitive "we're sorry you're unsatisfied" cycle each time it was mentioned. I eventually said something like "the only apology... Read more

I'm sure it would be a great way to do taxes...but I cannot get this program to load! Their tech support is horrible...outsourced to the Philippines...cannot understand US conversations. It has been wasted time and 40 dollars. Will tell all my students never to buy turbo tax!

I love the software but the advertising on the package is very deceptive. I have a rental and I can use the Deluxe version, but the advertising slyly guides you to the premier version (for 20 rental deductions that are available on irs.gov is you care to look)and makes it appear that you have to use the premier version to do rentals. I had to leave the store, go home and go online to the website to find the list of schedules each version has. This made me very irritated. I get a free version of TaxCut each year but continue to use TurboTax, but if I continue to feel they are trying to scam me I can learn to like TaxCut (and recommend it to my clients instead of TurboTax).

My spouse and I are dealing with a move from one state to another (NY to Mass) and TurboTax does an incredibly lousy job of handling more than one state. Also, you can't simply go back to a state form that you've already filled out and edit obvious mistakes - the software keeps assuming you're done with the form and goes to the end for review. Darn it, all I want to do is go back to a point in the return correct a return! Argh! The 'back' button acts more like the back button on a web browser (goes to the previous page you were looking at) instead of taking you one page back in a particular return. Boy this software is truly awful now. It used to work quite well. It's too bad.

This USE to be a good product. It now repeats every input! I will NEVER buy this trash software again! A one-time review is enough! People DO NOT need a review of inputs after EACH and every input!!!!!

I have used Turbo Tax by Intuit, for the last 6 years, and this is a first. They not only had my return messed up, but the refused to allow me to correct it, and could not explain their reasons. I finally told them to leave it alone, and that I would take care of them my self. I proceeded to take my returns to the Department of Revnue, where they were filed immediately, but with a larger return. I have tried to find someone to talk with about this, and getting my funds returned, to no avail. I am sorry about this report, but I can and will document what I have stated.

In summary.....Tax Program could not deal with filing income in multiple states ...this is because information did not properly import from the initial W-2 information I entered into all subsequent forms??? I've spent +3 hours talking with the help center (in India) and I still have no answer on any possible fixes. There is no way to change or over ride this information yourself!! Tech Guy admitted that there were many errors within the program when filing returns for multiple states. I also requested to cancel and get a refund after spending the whole day on this problem, at which time I received a number to an automated centre that has no other options but to review the status of a filed return???? Very disappointing....Horrible Product....Horrible Support...Stay away Poor customer service (guy with Indian accent asked me what Massachusetts was????, then read me exact instruction I saw on my screen), no control of importing errors that occur within the program between federal and... ONLY IF YOU HAVE AN EASY RETURN!!! Last year I paid the IRS exactly what turbotax.com stated I needed to pay through their website. I've paid one additional IRS bill and have received a second. When I contacted turbotax.com about their "guarantee" it was a huge pain in the ass (excuse my language) so I gave up and paid again. I still have yet another IRS bill to pay!! This year, I missed the filing deadline due to a delay from my ex-husband and now that I have the info, I can't complete my return because the link is no longer there! Now I have to wait 63 HOURS UNTIL THEY OPEN THEIR OFFICE! Guess what? I won't be using them anymore. It totally sucks (again, exuse my language) that I can't even access my pre-entered data to submit it some other way. This service is only for those with a totally easy return. Anything other than that, you're at a great risk.

Yes, I have a dial-up connection. My Turbo Tax disc arrived by mail this year, generated by my using their service last year. Oh, a disc, I thought, all data will be contained upon the disc, all I will have to do is go online to pay with a credit card. Not so, major issues. So, I purchased the disc at Staples, again thinking that it would be self-contained. Not so, it is highly dependent in having the connection. I did my federal and state and printed each out. Across the face of the federal return was printed an advisory that the filing is incomplete, Turbo Tax instructed me to call or download additional disc/data. So I am stalled and the notion they project that your problems are over after slipping the disc into the machine are misleading. Additionally, they appear to be geared for Broad band connections. Does anyone make a disc that is self-contained and facilitates tax filing without going online?

I use their tax services and their payroll services and their accounting services for my business and they are fantastic. They always resolve all my problems and little questions quickly and efficiently. The only complaint I have is that their phone waits can be a little long. But once they pick up the phone, they'll do all they can to help.

Though I have not tried any of the competitors to TurboTax, I cannot imagine how they can be any better for basic to intermediate tax returns. The program is rather intuitive, has some of the more rare and complicated forms, and allows for a wizard type interface for entering data or the user can just enter information directly on the forms. However, no tax software, even TurboTax can replace professional advice for more complicated tax situations and planning.

I've recommended Turbo Tax for years because it's so much easier and quicker than doing taxes by paper, and cheaper than going to a preparer. That said, I was disappointed with the version I tried early in 2003 because every step of the way it was trying to sell you extra services, which really annoyed me after a while. After getting many complaints about the registration feature last year, the version for this year allows for loading the software on more than one computer. From what I've heard, many other big name tax preparation software packages have caught up to TurboTax in quality and ease of use. I've heard they also have a decent free version online of Turbo Tax, with a fee to e-file. In short, any major brand of tax prep software can make taxes much less of a chore, and is worth trying.

It's a very easy tax software program, excellent for first-time filers especially, I think. Step-by-step instructions make it easy for even beginners to use. I suggest that you keep the old version up until you buy the new version--they seem to almost always have a rebate available if you have an old version when you buy the new version.

This Activation feature (?) is a disaster. After buying and installing and registering both TurboTax Deluxe and the TT State programs, the program determines that I am using a demo version and wants me to Activate for $39.95. Help has me reinstalling several times with no luck. I am going to try for a refund and buy Taxcut.

By far the most user-friendly and effective software that I have ever used. When April 14th came around, and I had still not started my taxes, I turned to the Turbo Tax Web site, and was able to quickly and easily prepare my taxes for $19.95. Complete with definitions, tips as to how to lower your taxes, and a completely intuitive user interface, my taxes have never been less stressful. Intuit's Turbo Tax software is truly an example of technology that makes my life easier - 5 stars all the way.

My dad is a CPA and I helped him out several years ago when I was between jobs. He had me working with Turbo Tax and this thing was a piece of cake. It was very intuitive and allows you to bring forward information from year to year.
