TD Ameritrade does everything right but falls flat with poor trade execution under certain conditions for limit trades.  It might be somewhat harsh for me to knock TD Ameritrade for a single issue but when other services execute limit trades flawlessly, I have a hard time recommending TD Ameritrade to anyone. If this flaw was fixed I would gladly recommend the service but as is, it is a fatal flaw in my view.

Terrible customer service! No one ever seems to know what's going on. Just to save a few bucks, I went with TD Ameritrade, and it was not worth it at all! They held my checks, lost my paperwork, referred me from one department to another... it was awful. Go somewhere else!

All the balances on their site are off today. 5/30/07 I'm showing a zero balance on my cash and I can't make a trade online when the market is going south. I called their # and the phones are tied up for 30 minutes. I'm moving my money elsewhere.

Very unreliable & erroneous site data. Tech dept is lousy & site very often is messed up.

For being such a large company, ameritrade charts are no special than Yahoo financial charts. I am truly disappointed. The charts have minimum data points. The charts look like those created by kindergarden students. Even for a free service like Yahoo financials, ameritrade charts are sub-par to Yahoo financial charts.

A bit expensive, but I am willing to pay since their customer service is good, platform rarely crashes, and trade execution is very reliable.

their new site has taken off the COMPANY NAME of the stock - you can only see ticker symbol. What's worse, their new option portfolio layout only gives the option symbol which is unrecognisable for most. It does not indicate (at first glance) the kind of option (put/call), expiry, strike etc. Whoever designed that site either does not trade or was totally drunk. Overcomplex, yet the real important stuff is missing.

I have been using it for over 5 months now. Went from Scottrade to Ameritrade. Yes the limit orders are cheaper but cannot open a margin account b/c im a student. Also, the data is not as good as it should be. And what really makes me made is that it takes 3+ days until my money is settled and ready for trading again. I can only make 1 trade a week like this. It sucks. I'm going to another broker very very soon.

Streaming data is often very wrong as much as 30%. Company attitude, not our problem. Trade at your own risk. If you trade using invalid numbers most often you loose. Trades often seemed delayed without reason are they playing points? I left Ameritrade some time ago and moved to Daytek, now I'm stuck with them again, at lest for a little while. Is an eleven dollar($11.00) trade a good deal if you loose eleven hundred(1,100)
