I can't say enough great things about amazon.com. Many people have bad experiences with online retailers who can't be trusted-- Amazon can be trusted. It is the world's largest online retailer and it wouldn't be if it wasn't amazing. I have been nothing but catered to. When an item was taking a little longer than expected (a day), I contacted customer service and they went further into see that it had been held up in a hub in Georgia. The next day I got my package and all was well. They even followed up with me on a return call to see that I was satisfied. Amazon goes the extra mile and provides excellent services and products. Recommend always!

I really enjoy using this site. I can find items that i can't find in my local stores. Very straight forward with where it comes from, how much it is, and how long before i can expect to have it.

Really excited about the digital content. I was given a Kindle Fire for Chirstmas last year, and adore it. constantly use it to get music, go online, and buy stuff from Amazon. Reading is always the main use, though. Amazon's range of books, textbooks, and magazines, keep me from being bored in any situation.

Amazon is the best! Usually pretty good deals as well as lots of reviews on different items. I have ordered on Amazon many times and have never experienced any problems with my order. Amazon gets my vote!

First let me say, if you are shopping on Amazon, it's not so "terrible" since in every way the customer is favored, which isn't always a bad thing. If you plan to sell on Amazon - as I did for the last 4 years, it's not so wonderful and recently horrible. As of right now, I no longer sell with Amazon and am more than happy about it! The last straw for me was having money taken from my account even though a customer received their merchandise, it didn't matter that there was proof of delivery, there wasn't even a complaint about the actual items bought. I figured Amazon would see based on the delivery confirmation that the customer did receive their order - well that didn't matter, they were refunded and I was out the money and my merchandise. On a seller's side, it's good to have your products seen easier in product searches, but depending on the category, 15% goes to Amazon, if the customer wants to give you negative feedback (I hardly had any!) Amazon says, it's just their opinion and won't remove it unless it's obscene, product review or something that was from fufilled by amazon. I could probably write 5 pages worth of all of my experiences with Amazon, but will just end by saying, there is good and bad with everything, unfortunately, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth from them, since still, months later, they have not disbursed my money into my account, that's great business for you!

You can buy everything from this site. They have clear item descriptions and customer reviews. You can choose your shipping and payment options. There are gift cards available at most retail stores and Coinstar machines.I get my item by mail, for larger items I have to make a trip to the post office. This is really the only site I shop from.

I try to avoid buying things online if I can help it, but Amazon.com is decent, and if I need something like an old out of print textbook, Amazon is usually the place I go.

UPDATE: I'm still not a huge fan of buying things online for personal use. When it comes to purchasing things for work, however, Amazon is pretty good. The two biggest reasons are:

1. I work for a university, which is exempt from sales tax. Amazon doesn't charge sales tax, so I don't have to bother submitting sales tax exemption forms and hoping that they reimburse us for the tax they shouldn't have charged in the first place. The people in the purchasing dept. get pretty ticked when they see a charge for sales tax, even if it's only a couple bucks.

2. Super Saver Shipping. It's pretty rare for me to have a work related purchase under $25, so as long as I can actually buy it directly through Amazon and not some sub-vendor, I don't have to waste part of my budget on shipping.

I love Amazon.com. I have been ordering many different things from Amazon for many years. I have never once had a problem with anything I have ordered. Everything has always came very fast and what I ordered was also good quality. I can also find things the cheapest on Amazon. Overall it is the best shopping site on the internet today. I bought a bokken and a tanto on Amazon. Both items showed up on time and in good shape, which is exactly what I expected. My brother has a prime account and gets free shipping and all that crap, which comes in handy when you buy electronics for clients like he does.

I love Amazon because they consistently have the lowest prices and I've never had a problem with any orders. I've only contacted customer service once but they were very friendly and helped me out quickly. I always check Amazon first because I know its where the good deals are.

Sometimes there are deals on shipping. . .other times there are deals on used books. Amazon is an oldie but goodie - a classic standby of shopping for me. It's a can't miss during the holiday season. And I can't remember a time when I felt the need to bitch about their speed of delivery.

The prices can (and often do) lie on the high side. Classic RIA four starts.

I've done a great deal of shopping on Amazon (books mostly) and I have never had any problems with any of my purchases. Amazon is an outstanding, and convenient sight for shopping.

I should start by saying that I have an amazon Prime account and often go there when wanting to buy something. My issue relates to what I find when I would like to buy something that is not a predefined product and I am not sure exactly what I want. My first step would be to do a search for the sort of thing I am looking for.

This used to be a way to uncover a number of provider options that might have a product of interest. Not any more. It now seems by throwing vast amounts of money at advertising and affiliate programs and the like (I am not sure what all the schemes are called) that all roads lead to amazon.

Top of any search result will be amazon's relevant listings.

Then there are the sponsored ads for price comparison sites (and of course amazon) - click on one of these and generally all the prices being compared are amazon prices (or at least the amazon prices are the most prominent. It's normally an amazon marketplace seller (whoever they are) undercutting amazon by a little but charging postage that means no great saving). These are the same listings as were being returned in the search.

So you go back to the search and start looking down the results beyond amazon and beyond the price comparison sites - you find a site that sounds hopeful - you click on it - looks good so you look around....then it dawns on you that these products look familiar - unbelievably its a website that someone has set up that sources its product offering from amazon - if you buy anything you are transferred to the amazon servers to complete the transaction.

Back to your search - a blog about the product you are looking for - let's take a look - nooooo... another amazon front that wisshes to take you through to their listings.

Back to your search - you carry on and, if you are lucky, you might find others that are offering a different set of products that may be of interest, but the amount of time it now takes to find different items is becoming longer. The ability to compare prices is lessening.

amazon is destroying the web by completely swamping it with its various advertising methods. It is obscuring any site that may have an interesting alternative offering. Even when you don't want a product but some information on a subject, it will likely spark irrelevant shop offerings from amazon.

I don't have a problem with amazon's service when I wish to use it, however I do not appreciate the fact that they are trying to prevent me from looking at other offerings by overwhelming the web with their viral apporoach to advertising.

The greater amazon's monopolisation of the retail world on the web, the worse the experience of using the web will become. Ultimately they will drive other retailers to the wall and we will be left with one choice for online shopping - is this what you want? I DON'T.

They took 3 weeks to ship the wrong ite,...thanks....you can't call anyone or get an answer back with out it being some generic email that a computer spits out.

I used to love shopping on Amazon but with the introduction of their zstores or whatever they call it their overall quality has really dropped. They have really become nothing more than a list of stores other people own and run and as a result it causes shipping to be to overpriced and really just not worth it anymore.

Sure you may find a great item for $3.95 here and $4.15 there but since you have to buy them from two different companies you have to pay for two different shipping. So not worth it anymore, it really isn't.

5 years ago I would say I used Amazon 5 to 10 times a year. Last year I might have used them twice and this year not even once.

I've ordered LOTS of diferent things from this site over the past seven years or so and customer service has never been anything less than awesome. Some examples:

An item I purchased decreased in price right after I payed for it. Amazon credited my account for the difference.

A book did not arrive on time and Amazon reimbursed me for the shipping charges.

When I decided to return my Kindle Amazon not only recredited me for the cost of the Kindle but also reimbursed me for the shipping charges (though I did have to pay to ship it back to them).

Their prices are always the best. I am an Amazon customer for life!

The only item i have ever purchased from amazon is books, and I love it. It even beats going to the local bookstore. Most of the time I can buy a used book a lot less than the price of a brand new book, and honestly, I have no need for brand new book. Plus, I know it helps out the used book sellers. But with that said, shipping cost are a bit high, especially if you buy only one book. I never buy less than two books on amazon, so I keep a ongoing list using their wish list. So, for books amazon gets thumb up !

Can't beat Amazon Prime!

For the most part, we have been very pleased with the service we get with Amazon.com. We have ordered,books, and computer games so far. They are effecient in sending them out. They even have a tracking number where you can see where the package is at. we especially like the tracking number since we can see what day the package will be coming. I would reccomend this service to someone. UPDATE: we are usually happy with Amazon.com. the one problem we have been faced with is if we order 25.00 worth of merchandise we are promised free shipping. this usually goes fairly well unless................ they are in short supply of the certain item that is ordered. IF this happens the people who actually paid for shipping get theirs first. those who took advantage of the advertised incentive from Amazon to order at least $25.00 worth of stuff now have to wait until the paid shipping people get theirs first. I am not thrilled I am being punished and wonder what if this was supposed to be a gift? oh yeah, if you call on a Saturday. forget about getting someone from America. welcome to India and a customer service rep trying to get me to pay for shipping. geez! for the most part i guess i will still order from Amazon.com and hope I do not order an item a bunch of other people ordered.{ weird thing is I ordered a movie made way back in 1956 that was on sale.} who thought that would get such a big response?

I bought a book from amazon half month ago. And do not receive my book now. The seller in Amazon does not provide an phone, I have to contact them through email. They did reply the first and second email, but did not reply any email any more.

It is a waste of time to deal seller in amazon. Thanks to the Amazon A-Z, I did have my money refund today.

Does anyone remember back when amazon.com was the online equivalent of a Borders or B&N - books with a dash of music & movies? Maybe I've been on the Internet too long, but sometimes I'm nostalgic for the simple days of Internet past. The more they add to it, the harder to navigate the site becomes for me.

I still like to use it for their original specialties - books, music & movies. I especially LOVE their MP3 section & would give the MP3 section alone 5 stars +. They give out special deals to get a song or two of your own choice for free now & then, and also have a constant listing of different totally free MP3 singles & albums - with a pretty good variety & with some big names you would never expect to be on sale or free. They also constantly have sales going for MP3 albums for much, much less than you'd find elsewhere - at the time I'm writing this, I believe there are currently 800 MP3 albums up for 5 dollars. When I do comparison shopping of their MP3 store to other MP3 websites like Itunes, I seem to save 1 to 3 dollars an album regularly & sometimes even well more than that. A purchase on their $5 MP3 sale just the other day saved me about 8 bucks compared to buying elsewhere! If you love music, the savings can really start to add up. I would definitely tell anyone to give Amazon's MP3 store a try.

I do not have an Amazon Prime account & so I find myself not finding the other areas of the site to be as great of a deal & will only use it now if my order reaches the amount needed for free shipping. However, just like the MP3 stores convenience, I also particularly like buying their gift cards as gifts - no worry about the shipping when they are sent via e-mail, and they are an awesome save for when procrastination has caught up on a gifting occasion.

I have used Amazon.com for years, and I love it. Unlike brick-and-mortar stores where you have to fight the crowds, or you just can't find what you're looking for - Amazon.com is first class.

I love the fact that I can usually find what I'm looking for at an outstanding price and in most cases the shipping is free. I can then track my package and see when they will arrive.

When you have family and friends that live out of state as I do, and you can find the right gift, then have it gift wrapped, and shipped right to their door again in most cases free of charge.

What I also like to do is when I'm shopping at Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Books A Million, or the other brick-and-mortar stores with my wife. I have the Amazon.com applet in my blackberry smartphone and then I compare prices while in the brick-and-mortar stores and I usually find that Amazon.com is cheaper then those brick-and-mortar stores. Books A Million I always find books cheaper at Amazon.com then Books A Million even with their so-called discount card.

I then love to tease my wife about it and show her how much money we could be saving in gas and time by shopping online at Amazon.com. I am a happy and loyal Amazon.com customer!

I have used Amazon.com off and now for a few years. Initially, I wasn't too thrilled with their billing and customer service. However, I have noticed recently that the customer support people have improved their attitudes considerably. Could it be something to do with the economy? What I have found is that the products they sell or (middle man for) varry in price depending on when and where you look. For example, you might check the manufacturer's web site and find it's more expensive (including shipping cost) or you may find that the opposite is true. All-in-all, if the price is reasonable compared to other retailers and I don't need the item immediately, I will purchase it through Amazon.

They mostly list fair prices but sometime prices are higher than other retailer, may be their retail pricing strategy, but defiantly advice user to go and check any price comparison site, e.g. shoping.com or http://www.best-discount-deals.com/ or another, but make sure you go with unbiased one...
