I have one pair of Cowtown boots and have seen others. While their skins are larger sizes in the exotics, they are typically of lower quality in their feel and texture. Also, the pegs in the arch are sparse, not indicative of a high quality boot - which they are not. The shaft piping is plastic ( a sin as far as I'm concerned. After all, it's not THAT much more leather to make the darn piping!) and the heel blocks are that darned compressed paper that will swell and warp, then shatter when you try to replace the heel cap. Overall, sad to say, these are typical of the trend in Cowboy boots. Nothing really special here. I use mine for winter use in the occasional snow, so I don't ruin a GOOD pair of boots.

I ordered a pair of boots from Cowtown Boots. Before placing my order I asked Joey from Cowtown about their exchange and refund policy and he said that for any reason if I didn't like them or needed to exchange it was simple. Just return them unworn through my choice of shipping carrier and Cowtown would exchange or give me e full refund including my shipping. When I recieved the boots they didn't fit. Inside the boot box was a letterheaded paper from them stating their return policy exactly what Joey stated it was. I shipped them back to Cowtown and was first told by Joey that they refund shipping if there was a shipping error. After I mentioned the letterhead he stated they refund shipping if it was an exchange. They refused to return shipping and I see from other reviews from other sites that others were lied to as well. Joey does not stand behind what Cowtown states they do and they could care a less about whether their customers are satisfied. I would never recommend r purchase a... Read more

I just purchased a pair of the cowtown alligator boots. The quality is great. It is a little bit taller than Tony Lama and Lucchese. Even the craftmanship is not as well polished as Lucchese or Black Jack, but they are very well constructed. I believe the vamp quality is better than most budget brands on the market. The thing I really like about this boots is that the vamp is made from one piece compare to other brands which usually are made from two or three pieces stitched together. I ordered a number 9 EE boots, but I feel it is a little bit narrower than my other double E boots.

I had to return the distressed brown Laredo boots that I ordered from Cowtown Boots (El Paso) because they were mismatched in color. I was good with the distressed leather look but i wasn't good with the fact that it looked like they were two different colors on my feet. I paid $7 to have them shipped to me originally and when i returned them asking them to send a matching pair, i had to pay $11.46 in shipping. This took nearly two months to resolve. I sent 2 emails, trying to find out the status of my return and finally contacted my credit card company to help me get some kind of answer. I thought I was entitled to the shipping and it again took two letters via email to get an answer. So...long story short, I paid $18.46 in shipping and have no boots, so my advice to you is buyer beware. I also don't think it should take 4 letters to get some sort of response. Customer service is not important to Cowtown Boots and the return policy stinks!

You could spend four times the money and not get as nice a boot. Cowtown is located in El Paso, TX and are one of the best kept secrets in boot makers. Every boot is handmade with over 200 individual to complete each pair. Cowtown owns the largest alligator farm in the world and sells to hundreds of other boot and shoe manufacturers. I bought a pair of Alligator tail recently and they're much more comfortable and the skin is much nicer than the Nocona crocodile boots I paid $700 for. Don't waste your money!
