From what I have heard Clemson has definitely improved in the last few years. My time there has been nothing but amazing. The loyal fan base, strong Greek system, dedicated alumni, thriving academics, attractive student body, and the overall great college atmosphere is what makes this place so appealing to so many. Nearly everyone who has visited me at Clemson from surrounding Universities has told me they wish they had chosen Clemson. I would almost go as far to say that more then half the people who bash this school were most likely rejected, and had to attend a University down the road instead...

As a student of clemson I cant say enough bad things about it. It is full of 5th generation rednecks that forget they lost the civil war. It alsmost seems as though everyone that is a local is brainwashed, i feel sorry that everyone is so narrow minded. Dont get me started on boat shoes, camo and the North Face. Im considering dropping out and creating a store on campus that specializes in those three items. If this school ever wants to be a nationally recognized school it needs to start accepting more out of state students to raise test scores and lower ignorance.

If you like small town then this is place for you. Easy commutes to near by Anderson make Clemson the best place for a college campus. Great academic, athletic, etc. success has lead Clemson University to being one of the finest in the south. Being named 2000 Public colllege of the year by TIME magazine just adds to Clemson's great achievemnts. Don't let the small town fool you. Anderson is less than 10 minutes away which offers many restraunts, hotels, malls, etc. The Clemson campus exemptlfies the historic and southern hospitality of the state of South Carolina. Around 16,000 students makes this a very easy campus to move about and have a managable social life too.

No matter where someone chooses to attend, it's more than likely they'll end up leaving with an intense emotional attachment to the university, it's surrounding enviroment, and it's populace. The argument: I went there, and there's no better place is therefore, a weak one. I know that Clemson is a fine institution if you have interest in what a land grant college offers, i.e. agrculture, engernering, etc. However, if you look to write the next American best-seller, soundly understand public policy, or make the cover of Forbes by 30, I'd advise you to keep looking. A note on the campus: Yes, it is very green, and yes it is very centeralized; but, it's also very dated and monotonous. So, if you are into variations on the same theme, it's perfect. Clemson is also in the middle of a very small town. Unlike Athens, which has evolved to cater itself to a college demographic, Clemson has not. If you're looking to go out on a date, be prepaired to drive a little bit, that is unless pizza and b... Read more

As a supporter of their in-state competitors (the University of South Carolina), my opinion is somewhat biased. I will say that Clemson has a beautiful campus, a very loyal student & alumni population, and a fantastic game-day atmosphere for football Saturdays. Plus, the science, engineering and architecture programs are very good for the price you pay. For business and liberal arts, however, you would be better-served looking down the road at either USC or UGA.

I'm not one to trash on a school, but DAMN...Clemson SUCKS. They accepted me before I ever applied (as if I was going to apply in the first place) Georgia Tech even has a school song entitled "Clemson is a redneck school" That has to tell you something. Good Lord this school blows goats.

I'm sure it's a fine academic institution but . . . This is the same school that had a football coach that said, "I shouldn't ought'na done it." and a bumper sticker that says, "It's Prison Time Again Y'all."

Clemson University was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. I gained a world of knowledge, met wonderful people, and experienced some of life's greatest moments. I wouldn't trade one minute of my time there and I only wish that I could have stayed there longer. College is one of the singlemost important experiences of a yound persons life and Clemson is a perfect place to experience it.

Clemson University was one of the best overall experiences I have ever had in my life. Academically, i was challenged for six years in the tough discipline of architecture. Socially, I was enriched my many friends, many events, and much happiness. Emotionally, I was affected in such a way that I still love going back to see that wonderful campus, those great people and remembering all those great memories that will always stay with me.

I transfered into to CU from a small, womens liberal arts college. Though I knew at the time it was the best move for me socially, it wasn't until I was into my senior year that I realized that academically, it was the best choice I could have made.

It doesn't deserve a response, but- maybe you should show the intelligence you receive from such a prestigous school as Emory. You give it a bad name. Clemson is a well-rounded school that attracts all kinds of people because if it's wide selection of majors. I now have friends all over the country and the world because of my four years at Clemson in the Architecture School. It has it's shortcomings, like all univerisities, but I don't regret a single minute of my education at Clemson. It is a total, positive college experience!

I have attended several universities (including Emory) and I feel my 4 years spent as an undergrad at Clemson were by far the most well-rounded and happy of my experiences. I would recommend the experience to anyone and everyone. In the 4 years since, not a day has gone by that I do not miss walking across bowman on a cool fall day or studying/sleeping in the amphitheater between classes or seeing people I know everywhere I go. Go tigers!

Just a simple comment: everyone i have every known who attended clemson or who has a friend who attended clemson has always said how much they enjoyed the clemson experience and how amazingly spirited the school is. I chose Clemson over other more prestigious schools due to its well-roundedness and its friendliness.

Whether you go there for the school spirit or the most beautiful sunsets in the South, Clemson is a great place for a person to establish lasting friendships and strengthen many skills to build a successful career. I loved it when I was an undergrad, and I still love it to this day. Go Tigers!

I spent a total of five years at Clemson and left with two degrees and the knowledge that I made the best choice with regard to my college education. I've yet to see another school match the all-around Clemson experience. From Lake Hartwell to the South Carolina Botanical Gardens, Clemson is home to a beautiful campus and a unique, small-town atmosphere where college students can thrive and grow. Those who call it a redneck school just don't understand what it means to be a Tiger to all who attend and the diversity of the student population allows Clemson students to meet young people from all over the country. Go Tigers!

Clemson offers the most impressive classroom and campus life experiences in South Carolina and remains competitive in the Southeast for comparable level institutions. The Agricultural, Economics, Architecture & Engineering departments are staffed with top notch faculty and are given the necessary resources (both private and public) to exceed the demands of a major land grant university. I recommend the University website to any potential student or faculty member (www.clemson.edu). After a little homework and ONE visit to this gorgeous campus I guarantee you will fall in love with this fine institution of higher education.
