This printer is soooo bad. The ink runs out right away and they are soooo expensive to purchase. On top of it all if you want to print in black and white only you have to purchase the other color cartridges, which by the way, cost more than the printer itself. RIP OFF!!!!!! Don't buy this printer if you value money because it is a total waste of it. You would be better to put your money in your car, roll down the windows, and let it just fly out.

Pros: 1. Same Epson Quality 2. Easy Setup and online Enhancement 3. Professional looks and fast high quality output. 4. Stand alone functions and fast easy to use Menu 5. Bright easy to see and use LCD 6. Great price Cons: 1. Small printer ink Cartridges. 2. Sensitive paper handling with ADF 3. ADF only useable during Scan and Fax of multiple sheets Years ago I started looking at color printers for photos output. I started with the Epson 670 then to the 785Xep, & CX5200 (the last two, I still use today) and now the WF 500. This new machine is the best looking, the fastest, and best bargain of the group. It was easy to setup and use all functions. It was tested the 1st night and all worked. Photos are fast and sometimes better looking then the originals. Its document printing speed is outstanding. The output is fast and almost laser quality. The printer Menu is easy to see and use unlike CX5200 the WF 500 LCD screen is easier to see. The setup and online upgrade was eas... Read more

Printer would not receive any fax or send out any fax when any of the ink is out. Bought a high capacity from epson but cartridge did not fit. Bought a standard ink but cannot detect the new cartridge. Nothing but problems. I have had 10 epson printers without any problems but this one is a piece of junk.

The Epson WorkForce 500 performs quite well. it scans very nicely. My only complaints are: 1. It is very noisy. Compared to Canon and HP, it is very loud. 2. One feature that I miss is automatic turn-on when you send something to print. You have to turn it on manually.

I received this printer about a month ago. I plugged it in, printed about 3 pages from MapQuest just to verify it worked and about 10 or so pages since then. During those 30 days, I left it in standby. I did this because another user suggested not turning if off and on each day as it would purge the nozzles and consume too much ink. The other reviewer just recommended leaving it on all the time to save on ink. For whatever reason, when I went to print my resume last night on nice paper, all the color inks only reads 2/3 full. I only printed about a dozen pages since I unpacked the printer, and the inks read full on day 1. I did not print photos or anything beyond standard quality, so I was very surprised to see the ink drain itself in standby mode to that extent. What really upset me was when I took my two resumes to work for an interview later. When I looked at them, I realized they were very crooked with the paper being worn on the edge. I figure I either had the blue slider to... Read more

STAY FAR-FAR AWAY FROM EPSON AND THIS ITEM!!! Horrible product and horrible customer service. Was impossible to set up with my Dell desktop as driver kept being rejected. After two days of futility, I contacted Epson for help. It took them 3 days to get back to me with an absolutely worthless comment, asking me to resubmit the request if I wasn't happy with their response. Meanwhile I formatted my computer and reloaded all drivers, just in case the problem was on my end. Still nothing. It worked with my laptop, but nothing I could do would make it work with the desktop. Epson must let the consumer know if the printer is not compatible with certain computers. Next, the ink is ridiculously expensive. Testing the printer while tryng to set it up, cost me more than half of the ink in the ink cartridges. So by the time I set it up with my laptop, I had to get replacement ink. Don't want to buy the same cheap cartridges that are now half empty, so I look at the "High Capacity" ... Read more

This is a nice all in one but it is very slow about printing and if you have vista don't buy it. I have to reinstall everytime I want to use it and it takes forever to send a print job to it. I also tried to contact customer service or tech help but no answer yet and that was over a week ago so apparently I am on my own.

This machine is not user friendly. I followed all the directions and set it up, loaded the software, and still it would not communicate with the computer. I called Epson support and after trying everything, the tech support person told me it was a "hardware failure." The Epson support number, by the way, is not toll-free, so I'll be paying a large phone bill for all the time I sat on hold and then all the time it took the tech support person to figure out that this machine did not work. So, I'm sending it back and replacing it with a Canon, which I know I can count on. Also, this machine is big, and it came in a humongous box that was way bigger than the box the machine is actually packed in. Amazon's packing methods waste a lot of paper and cardboard.
