Expensive but is the recommended powder detergent for our Miele washing machine. Since it is made by Proctor & Gamble in Germany, it could be less expensive if produced in the US but it does a good job of cleaning our laundry.

Persil Megaperls Color Good stuff and as the other user said, if you do your math, it works out as comparable to Tide. Persil works better than Tide in front loaders because it does not clump in cold wash and dissolves completely. No perfume smell and treats colors gently. I have these no iron chinos with the stain guard and when we used Tide, they would wear out quickly - frayed cuffs and seams. My mother-in-law recommended changing detergents and since then no problems and the stuff cleans better than anything we have used in the past. Factory Direct is a very efficient seller as well.

This is a truly wonderful product that cleans better than anything else on the US market but amazon advertises the wrong size. It is no longer the 54 load box but a smaller 50 load box that you get.

Persil is recommended by Miele, the manufacturer of my washer. It wirks well and you don't have to use much.

I've been searching for an environmentally friendly laundry detergent for awhile; while I tried all of the other ones available at the local markets,I wasn't impressed with their performance. Persil Megapearls Color is the best by far. It has a pleasant scent that is not overpowering, unlike the Persil Gel and it gets the clothes really clean without stripping the color. Although it kills me to pay $50 for laundry detergent, I feel that it is well worth it given how my clothes look and the fact that it is not harming the environment.
