It sucks that one little test(SATS) determine your future. My advice is to study your ass off.

I was always did pretty well on tests, even if I failed to study for it. I had no problem with them or with the occasional pop quiz.

Test is very stressful word alone, taking test is a whole new story. I did very well in school, though every test was like the slow death. I know that I felt enormous relief after it.

Although I'm a student who is by nature opposed to most of what goes on in our public schools, I can't say I mind these much. The necessity of tests is understandable- they are needed to bring closure to a certain topic or unit, and are the best assessment of whether a student truly gets it. Personally, I prefer essay tests.

I was a lone sole, but i loved having tests. I was more of a test person than most, durring my sophomore year in highschool, my best year, i think the absolute lowest grade i got on a test in any class was an 82, which was a C, in my Earth Science class. The class I hated more than anything. I was NEVER a science person. Durring that same year, i had a civics and economics class and never got anything lower than a 95. I was always more of a socail studies student. Tests and exams, for me atleast, were always a good way to boost up by grade in the class.

Only pop quizes thru me off. If I knew there was a test coming up, I would be ready.

Sure they're frustrating. . .if you're stupid or don't study.

Usually not that bad but I hate when the questions are opinionated, for example I took a quiz on To Kill A Mockingbird and it asks what the main point of the book was, wouldn't it have different meanings for each person? And also questions that have downright crazy answers for example: A. Nucleus B. Cytoplasm C. Ribosome D. A and B E. B and C F. None

Not bad at all. Always posted good scores with little or no prep mostly. Now if I'd have gotten off my ass to do the daily work....

Yes, exams can be a pain. If I was a professor I would give exams, but I would test more for practical applications of the material rather than merely facts and figures. In other words, I don't care for multiple choice, which is a little too arbitrary for my taste. Sometimes there's no choice, but I think in the global marketplace, it's more critical to teach communication skills more than anything else. Personally I prefer essay tests, they give more room for analysis.

The terror that appears in many when faced with the simplest test is one of the most discouraging things to me. Are we so afraid of challenging ourselves, of failing, of learning, of competing?

This wasn't a concern. I usually did very well and I did not resent tests. Non-stimulating homework, on the other hand, was sometimes optional in my book.

Nah. These didn't bother me that much, actually. I wasn't one to study, and they usually came in often-enough intervals so that I didn't have to. It's those One big test only, at the end of the semester, and it's 99% of your grade tests that got to me. It's the pressure, really.

I'm an extraordinarily lazy person when it comes to test-taking. I never study but instead rely on my wits and common sense to figure out the right answers. My friend fumed at me for scoring a 1265 on the SAT's with zero prep while she trailed me by 20 points with her nose still in a 600-page SAT prep book. Tests don't bother me -- it's busywork that tears me down.

These made me nervous, more often than not!!

They were never a problem for me to do well on (MOST of the time...) but I was slammed with them almost every other day! And quizzez were a daily occurance. What a pain!!

I laughed my way to a 1250 SAT with zero prep and a 99 on my ASVAB when I joined the Marines. I piss on tests in a mean, taunting fashion.
