Emeril can't spell let alone pronounce his last name, is amazing. I love how he invites his audience in and has a table all set up to taste the finished food. My favorite part is when he adds a pinch of spice and says "BAM" I always laugh, that's his trade mark and it's way cool. I get chills when I see him prepare food and anticipate the flavors in my mouth. There's nothing I can think of that I don't like about this guy, except for the fact I can't afford it. If I ever become rich I want him as my personal cook although I highly doubt he'd ever cook for just me and my family. You rock and I miss watching the shows. You need to bring them back you put the cook in cooking, you could always replace that chick that has a show called b*tcin kitchen, I can't stand her o.k I don't know her but her acting sucks. Please come back please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I think that Emeril is a cook, not a chef. He can't even make pasta correctly...you never add oil to the water when cooking pasta or the sauce won't stick.

i'm not an emeril hater and his food probably tastes good...but the show sucks. i hate how the crowd reacts to ingredients he uses as if it's never been done before when it's nothing more than parmesan cheese over a caesar salad! and it's like he's fishing for a crowd reaction whenever he says, "aww yeah beb." not a very witty guy either.

hate him---he hovers over the food;lets you in on "secrets" he expects you to believe he invented, that my mother taught to me 50 or more years ago...he's ugly and too full of himself!!!

This guy started a whole new interest in quality cooking on television. All of his shows have been entertaining.

Emeril is a bit too much. But he cooks "real" and delicious food and is not afraid of using fat, meat, etc. He shuns the regular taboos, and subtley let's his audience know when he's forced to do something by his programmers. In other words, he's honest and resists pushing products that the station wants. Very different from his know-it-all colleague. His recipes are excellent and they always work. Enough of the "kick it up a notch," but that's Emerial.

I like Emeril and find his show entertaining from the Emeril live band to the guests and of course the food.  His "kick it up a notch" and a dash of this that turns out to be more like a quarter of a cup teaches us to not be intimidated by food or to not be afraid put some spicy addition into a predictable dish.

Its ok but I don't like when he takes the knob off the stove to explain the heat settings, like were stupid. And his audience reaction every time he mentions garlic or hot pepper like its some kind of expensive delicacy, that gets real annoying.

His live show is unwatchable. The audience goes nuts over anything he does, and who can afford the food he prepares, anyway? Not entertaining or educational.

I like a lot of his recipes and his cooking methods. I can't stand the tribal and repetitive nature of his live show. He has basically become the Johnny Carson of TV cooking shows because a large segment of the American TV watching public goes in for this type of schmaltz. I don't. Bam! I would like to see him say that real loud as he accidentally hits his hand with a meat mallet! Mwahahahahahahaha!

I think he makes great food, but not great TV. There is too much schtick on the show. I'd rather just see more cooking, and less of the silly jokes and "banter."

Emeril has got to one of the top 5 chefs ever made, he changed the face of american television with the show emeril live, now emeril made a name for himself in his restaurants and his other tv show the essence of emeril, it is this one that made him a superstar. This is one of the best chefs I've looked at.

Not my favorite show, although agreed, he's a great cook. Just seems a little full of himself. The part where the audience hoots and hollers when he adds garlic or pepper to a dish is cheesy.

Emeril is entertaining and a fine, inventive chef. People seem to love him or hate him, and there are few moderates in the crowd--or else they are just not vocal about being moderate. His personal life is his business, and should not be a factor in judging his show. I don't watch it all the time--but I don't watch any TV all the time--but I do check to see what he's going to be basing his show on, and if I have no interest in it, I don't watch. The "Cooking with Kids" shows did not interest me, but I like his dessert shows and think his comments on the "Mother Sauces" and variations derived from them are valuable. Some of his cooking method tips are informative and I have altered some of my cooking methods to accomodate them. I am moderately fond of the show.

Who dosent love Emerill right? Hes so masculine.. I think thats what makes me want to watch him, he comes across as a mans man. He looks as if he could cook you an elegant gourmet meal, and then go outside and fix a car!!!-lol I love him, I would love to go on that show Ms. Katina Smith

I'm not real crazy about him but I always learn a lot (although many times useless) from him. The "bam" gets real old. I actually like the idea of a band to his side but it still doesn't seem to fit. I find that I usually watch him as opposed to the other cooking shows when I am running through the channels. I really think I would like some real "editing" of the program. For instance making something, taking it to the oven and pulling out another one that is fully cooked isn't something that I like to see. IOW, why go to the trouble of placing a dish inside a cold oven? I think simple edits would be good. I do like the idea of people sitting around eating.

All hype and no quality ... boring and repetitive comments ... and his products are expensive. Watch Michael Smith, Bob Blumer or Rob Feeney on Canadian Food Network instead, they're entertainining without being idiotic.

This guy can't even cook. He's not from New Orleans as he tries to imply. Just a lucky Joe in the right place at the right time. His fame will dwindle quickly...Bammer or do I mean Bummer?

Six people in the audience got injured during one of Emeril's live show. There was a planned explosion gone wrong. However, nobody cared about those fans who got hurt. That's just wrong. See the news article for complete story and pictures. http://www.funlinks.com/visit_link.php?link_id=106

Yes I know Emeril is over exposed and has become campy and repetitive. I don't care I like him. You just know that he's a non celebrity who became a celebrity and is just having a ball. When he sticks close to his Portuguese roots and Cajun and Creole cooking, there is no one better.

This show is so annoying, aside from the usual scary-looking audience. Emeril's constant bam, 'another notch!', and idiotic humming is so annoying. When are they going fire this idiot?

    Tue Oct 19 2004

He says so many things over and over: 1. BAM. (of course) 2. Kick it up a notch/ When we come back, another notch. 3. I hate one-side seasoned meat. 4. What we're gonna do... 5. I'm just gonna put in about thirty-forty cloves of garlic 6.I don't know where you get your broccoli, but where I get mine, it don't come seasoned. 7. Stick around! 8. Does Johnny want some more pepper? Yes, Johnny would like some more pepper. 9. Food of love. 10. Pig fat. I need something more than this same stuff over and over.

Emeril is an aquired taste and I have to admit he has hooked me in. But I still cannot stand his humming. On some days he is pleasant to watch and others you just want to smack him. Not sure yet if I like the live audiences. Hell why clap for more wine but not onions? Sheesh.

Who are these idiots in the studio audience who break into peals of hearty laughter everytime the guy makes a funny noise? ... and, a band? I thought this show was a parody when I first saw it - I just don't understand why the advertisers continue to support this guy. I'm going to boycott any sponsor until they get this clown off the air.

Emeril was better was he cooked up meals that everyone (and I do mean just about everyone) would see and say, "Hey, that looks like something my family'd eat." Now it's Bobby Flay crap. When's the last time a working mom or dad had the time to coo up an easy batch of "Dungeness Crab Quiche with a Leek and Onion Ragu and a Light Citrus and Bleu Cheese Dressing"?

I HATE Emeril Live. This show is terrible. Emeril is a boring and monotnous idiot. He uses the same lines every single episode and is pompous and self centered. Emeril's love of "pork fat" is moronic. The fact that he favors a particular type of fat for no apparent reason is a testament to his idiocy. He is also very confused about where he is from. He thinks he is from NYC, Louisiana, Portugal, and Fall River. Emeril's pompous accent and manner of speaking is very very irritating. He needs to STIKGAROWND! and BAM his fat ASS!!

Intense guy with recipes to match. Many of his dishes seem tempting but I've never tried doing any of them yet. They tend to be somewhat complicated including semi-difficult to find ingredients. Most days I don't have the patience for either Emeril or the things he cooks.

Gets boring, ya know. He says the same thing after every sentence, ya know. He has a Brooklyn accent and tries to cook southern food, ya know. I wish my tv had a control to mute when he said ya know, ya know.
