Great book. Great movie, too, although I tend to be more of a book person than a movie person.

a too long-winded book, the plot was good and the book could have been very good if it wasn't too long-winded =)

Inconsequential crap. Reads like he wrote it on his coffee breaks.

A completely riveting, chilling book by this excellent writer. A great storyline with plenty of shocks and suspense.

I'm not sure I understand the comments here, but for my money, The Pelican Brief was Grisham's best. Darby Shaw is a law student. Her lover/professor is a Supreme Court nut. Two of the justices are murdered. Darby prepares a brief. The bad guys find out. Darby's on the run. Kind of kitschy, but a real nail-biter. I like books that read wuickly, and this is one you just can't put down.

I had seen the movie first then read the book. The book was better than the movie. It was great!

I read this book right after the Firm because I had liked the Firm so much but I was disappointed. I thought the Firm was a lot better. The story and the writing was better. The Pelican Brief wasn't bad but it was not the same as the Firm.
