I don't really think much of them, because the magazine is pretty irrelevant. US News & World Report nowadays is pretty much known for their superficial educational rankings.

Right-wing rag which has consistently gotten worse and worse over the years. It remains in the national spotlight solely based on its college-ranking calculus, which has been maintained for decades despite vigorous debunking from statisticians, and even when better systems such as the Washington Monthly's have garnered at least academic recognition. It manipulated its formula to cover up "accidents" that have occurred when its numbers did not produce the results it desired, or at least in accordance with the conventional wisdom, such as when Caltech won top honors in 1999. And James Pethokoukis may well hold the title of worst news editorialist in the country.

Not as biased as TIME/NEWSWEEK, which is good. Too thin for me to subscribe though. Would like for them to cut back on the hospital, college, rankings though. Add more news coverage not found on TV. Worth a try.

I absolutly love U.S. News and World Report. Without it, I couldn't find John Leo's articles.

U.S.News relies way too heavily on its "rankings" (colleges, hospitals, and so forth), and not enough on current news analysis.

It is an informative, relativiely objective news magazine.

Provides an interesting "reader poll" information about topics in the US which often are ignored, important topics. Highlights financial matters that are of interest to the common US public.

I personally do not subscribe to this magazine, but my parents do. As they finish reading this magazine I begin to read it. This magazine informs me of what happens around the world such as the fighting and bombing of our Navy sailors in October. Also, I can keep on track of the Presidential debates that happened between Gore and Bush. But mostly I can just be aware of what is going on, and I understand how we as a country, are helping. This magazine is very informative. I will subscribe to it when I have enough money but until then, I will just have to borrow from my parents.

It gives the background one needs to reflect on our impossibly complex universe.

Good general coverage of news of the common conciousness.

It's not worth it if you watch news or read the newspaper everyday. It covers the news that I already know most of the time. If you want more detail of certain news, it's worth a look.

Thoughtful and in-depth coverage of the widest variety of issues. Go to this before 60 minutes or Time for your news. Has a modest conservative bias.

Typical propaganda

I met the bureau chief for U.S. News & World Report in the Middle East. The whole bureau is one person.
