Called this company today and spoke to Nick, he sent someone out within the hour and they fixed the problem immediately. I called a couple of other places and they where either too far away or there is no one available in my location. Just want to say thanks to beltway garage door.

I just found out this review site, thank god I am not dealing with this company. I called this company earlier to do get an estimate to replace my garage door. When I called earlier a rude person answered the phone "can I help you". I told him that I would like to replace my existing garage door and I wanted to get an estimate how much it cost? He told me I will call you back I need your phone number. I thought that was kind of rude to ask a new customer to get the contact information. It's past four hours no call so far. I am so glad I read all these reviews, which helped me to decide not to do business these people. Thanks

Beltway Doors came to my home to assess a garage door that my teenage daughter drove a huge dent into (teenagers!) Unfortunately due to the extreme damage, I had to get a new door. However, I was very grateful that Beltway came to the rescue. I called them immediately, told the secretary about my situation and was quickly scheduled for a consultation. The secretary was very pleasant and we spoke about our experiences as mothers raising teenage girls. (She had a deep voice... I though she was a man at first!) When the company promptly arrived at my home the following day, the service technician recommended that I purchase a new door. I eventually decided to do so and was amazed at the wide variety of garage doors to choose from! I purchased an insulated door (living in Virginia you need to prepare for the freezing weather!) I am beyond pleased with my experience with this company. Now I know why they have stayed in business so long!! The lesson I learned from this whole experience is: beware of a seventeen year old at the wheel! --Susan

Buyer Beware. Website says "Voted #1 by thousands of satisfied customers." I didn't look closely at their current poor customer ratings before buying. My mistake. They didn't honor a discount coupon from their website, despite mentioning it to them three times on the phone and in a letter to the manager. I always give a business providing poor customer service an opportunity to correct their mistakes before publishing a rating. When I phoned the office, I was told if the manager didn't return my call after a few days, I should call back. I told that person I don't call twice because of their poor customer service. I then sent a letter to the manager with a copy of the coupon and asked for the credit. No response. If there was a problem with the door, I have no confidence they would stand behind their product and their work. A company that has such poor customer service they would not honor their own discount coupon and risk bad publicity worth much more than that coupon should cause anybody to be "buyer beware."

Called this company at 9:00 this morning for a price to fix a broken spring. Half hour later, the area technician called and said he'd be here between 10:30 and 11:30. 11:15 he arrives and fixes the door. 12:00 he leaves after fixing the door, lubricating everything and giving us advice on making the door parts last longer! Great service, half the price of the first company I called! I'll call them again if I need them!

PLEASE... WHAT EVERY YOU DO - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...!they took my deposit on a friday. later that day i got an estimate from a company that stopped by while i was not home and quoted half the amount that beltway doors quoted - for the same door - i called beltway doors and faxed the competitive quote and told them to place the order on hold. did not hear from "janet" so i cancelled the order, all in the same day. the following monday they cashed my check and have not returned calls since. this has been four months now and they are still holding my $1139.50what is wrong with this company.... i have 14 properties in dc... 14 garage doors and they treat their customers this way? i will take them to small claims court.try eastern door service at 703 255 1333. they are very professional and get the job done at a decent price.

After having good experience on 2 previous occasions with a door repair and new opener installation it was time to replace our 40-year old solid wood garage doors & track systems. On a Friday, after missing 2 previous appointments, they gave my wife a quote that proved almost twice that of 2 competitors. They insisted, and we gave them, a 50% deposit that they immediately deposited. We were to call in the door color selection the following Monday. Weekend quotes convinced us Beltway was overcharging, so we called and canceled that Monday, certainly within the 72-hour contract rescission period. We also requested a return of the deposit. After weeks of calls and messages left for the "one woman" (presumably the wife of the husband & wife-owned business) that fields those calls, we got no responses or return calls. After about 4 weeks, a young lady that answered the phone and recognized my wife my name, rudely said she had "just put our deposit check in the mail". To our dismay, the check was for about 35% of our 50% deposit with no explanation. They had not started anything on our order. Subsequent calls and messages again went unreturned. We sent a demand letter by certified mail requesting the balance of our deposit (we intentionally did not deposit their check), but the USPS delivered it on a Saturday when no one was at the office to sign for it. The postman/woman left a note about the attempted delivery. They did not contact the Post Office to request re-delivery or go pick it up. They ignored it, so the Post Office returned it to us 15 days later. We followed up by regular mail with the same letter. Again, no response. We then had our attorney send them a demand letter via certified mail (delivered mid-work week). that was 10 days ago and still no response. These people are BAD NEWS! No ethics, and BBB gives them an "F" rating! And, they've been in business for 20+ years! This has gone on now for almost 3 months. We are not giving up. Next stop is Small Claims Court, which they cannot dodge. If you need garage door service/installation, take your business elsewhere!

LIAR LIAR LIARS!!!!!!BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WILL HEAR FROM ME!!!I ASKED FOR AN ESTIMATE THAT WAS ONLY $230 THEN WHEN THE REPAIR MAN CAME IT WAS OVER $800 AND THE DOOR MOTOR WHICH WAS WORKING BEFORE THEY CAME-WAS BROKEN. HENCE I NOW HAVE A DOOR THAT MANUALLY MUST BE OPENED AND STILL NO WORKING DOOR. OF COURSE FOR THE SMALL PRICE OF ANOTHER $500 I COULD HAVE IT FIXED. WHEN I LOOKED UP THE COST OF THE PARTS THEY WERE ONLY A 1/3 OF THE CHARGE FROM MOST SUPPLIERS. I FEEL THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY KINDNESS AND MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE MECHANICS. WE TRIED TO CANCEL THE CHECK BUT THEY MUST HAVE WENT DIRECTLY TO THE BANK BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY WERE LIARS AND CHEATS.

They were a no show for an appointment leaving my car stranded in my garage. They were given all day to show up with preauthorized payment via credit card. When called they were rude and nonresponsive. They simply did not care. What worse can you say about a company? Well, you could say their work was shoddy. But then, they would have to show up first, eh?

I had a terrible experiece with these guys...missed appointments, rude service, no return calls. The office manager, who I am told is also the owner of the business, went out of her way to be aggressively rude. Her explanation for not showing up on several occasions was “we’re busy.” She actually hung up on me at one point. I’ve since learned that: -- Beltway Garage Doors has had 21 complaints processed by the Better Business Bureau in the last three years. Beltway Garage Doors failed to respond to the vast majority of these complaints. -- Their corporate charter was revoked by DC in 1994. -- Neither Virginia nor Maryland has a corporate registration on file for Beltway Garage Doors (although they may be registered under another name). Ultimately, we called Academy Door & Control who resolved the issue in a day or two and charged $200 less then we were quoted by Beltway.
