Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

This second Indiana Jones movie wasn't quite as good as the first and third ones in my opinion, but it's still worthy of five stars. I guess I have two complaints about Temple of Doom. The girl is too whiny, and the kid gets annoying.

Weakest of the first three Indy films. Some very well done segments but I often wished I could edit out the sound of Kate Capshaw's screaming. Very tiresome. This should be a warning to all directors...don't put your girlfriend or wife in any movie you are going to be held accountable for!

This was bad. All the wimpy Kate Capshaw could do was scream. About thirty minutes of high decibel auric intake was all I could stand!

Though I did enjoy this triology, The Temple of Doom was doomed. The worst of the three Indiana Jones movies.

The least of the trilogy, but Harrison Ford still made it very worth while.

That idiot blonde-chick almost derails the whole film. . .good action sequences. . .no one ever remembers the best line- when the waiter comes over with the gun to help Indy, he says, "Good service here."

Drop the stones Dr. Jones!! They will be found! YOU WONT!!!

Easily the weakest one in the series.

I love Indiana Jones, but this was a weak entry in the series. Had a hard time getting into it.

Loved the demonic dinner scene, but overall the plot was silly. And his new girlfriend drove me insane. A disapointing sequel but still okay.

Easily the worst of the Jones trilogy, but not a bad movie in it's own right and it has some decent moments and some great lines '...the poison you just drank, Mr. Jones.' The movie starts off great, but really falls flat once it gets into the meat of the story.

Great film, but not for those with weak stomachs. Classic scenes: the dining room eating scene and the infamous heart ripped out of the chest scene. Easily the darkest chapter of the series.

Released in 1984, Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom is the second and weakest of the Indiana Jones film trilogy starring Harrison Ford. For the uninitiated, Indy is off to China to finish a deal; however, things inevitably go awry resulting in him literally landing in East India after picking up two sidekicks, namely the struggling nightclub singer Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) and 12 year boy Short Round (Quan Ke Huy). After arriving in India, Jones finds a village with no children, artifacts to retrieve, and a dark Hindu cult on the rise, so he is off to save the day yet again while battling bugs, voodoo dolls, and the whining Willie. As other comments have noted, the story is much less believable and more comical, almost as if Indy has meet the goonies. Nevertheless, Harrison Ford salvages the film resulting in three stars.

This movie is great! I've seen it like a zillion times and never tire of it. The acting is good, the little boy Shorty is adorable, and Willie, the "love interst" was hysterically funny.

The scariest of the Indiana Jones movies. the temple was real scary and the heart plucking scene, though farfetched, was cool. Also, the mine and rope bridge scenes were exciting.

Lots of fun to watch, "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" is great. I think it's the only Indiana Jones movie that DOESN'T involve Nazis. I wasn't a big fan of Willie, but I like the interactions between Indiana, Willie and Shorty. The dinner scene was so funny ("Ahhhh . . . chilled monkey brains . . . " Oh, man, it's so gross that you HAVE to laugh!).

By far the worst movie in the Indiana Jones trilogy (I thought the other two were fantastic though).

If you liked the other 2 Indiana Jones movies than you probably won't like this one. Filled with cheep laughs and dumb one-liners. It tries to be more of a comedy than an action movie. Harrison Ford is still good, but the supporting cast could have come off of a street somewhere in any city in America. With few good parts, though admittedly their are a few, this is a major dissapointment.

This is a great one. Especially when that guy takes the heart out of the sacrificed individual.

Surely the worst of the trilogy. Willy was just annoying, although the Chinese kid was cool. And just when you thought they couldn't escape some army of 50 angry hell soldiers wielding large sharp objects, they found some way out, and then got caught up in something else- it's way overdone. I don't know about you, but if I were a college professor like Indiana Jones, I wouldn't risk my life THAT many times.

The 2nd best in the series. People eating snakes isn't exactly what I would all real entertainment but Harrison kind of makes it worth while. Pretty graphic and bloody.

people always say that this edition of the trilogy is the worst. but despite the grossness of it, i can't really rate it below the others. they're all kinda equal in my eyes cause they all have their own redeeming qualities. the exotic eastern settings and the supporting characters (the girl and the kid) were well done. out of the three movies, the girl in this one was my favorite cause she was funny enough to like.

This is the reject of the Indiana Jones trilogy. Not only is it the cheesiest, but it is the most unbelievable. Due in part to the lack of Nazis and in part to the horrible choice of the female lead, this movie feels like part of the Allan Quartermain series than Indiana Jones. Succeeds only because of Harrison Ford.

A really good movie. Though, it's not as great as the other two Indiana Jones movies. This one lacked reality and zeal. Though, still very interesting and pretty cool.

This movie came out when I was a little kid. I liked this movie because there was a lot of action. I liked it when he got chased by the big ball. It was cool because he snitched the bag of sand in the temple quick. But somehow they caught him.

I enjoy movies with action and thrills to keep me entertained. Harrison Ford is in the movie. I was able to relate and the movie offered a different perspective on culture.

Like all the other Indiana Jones movies, this one was great. It's fun, scary and has a lot of action and suspense, although all those Jones movies are great. This one is my favorite for the dining scene and loads of bugs.

Eating the fried monkey brains, eyeball soup, the hallway with bugs, and the beating heart. These scences are all time bests of the Temple of Doom. It was really good and I can watch it over and over.

In general, I'm a big fan of the Indiana Jones series. Raiders of the Lost Ark is a classic adventure movie, and the third one - with Sean Connery as Indy's dad - was pretty good. But what the hell happened with #2 in the series? Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, despite having a great character to work with, a great actor in the leading role, and a huge budget, manages to be really, really bad. First of all, what were they thinking introducing that annoying kid? Tossing a cute kid into an established set of characters is a sure sign of creative stagnation (e.g., Oliver's appearance on the Brady Bunch). But I'm not sure who was worse - that kid or Spielberg's wife, Kate Capshaw, who screams and whines annoyingly throughout the movie.
