Well, the television gods play 'The Fugitive' every fucking day. Anyway, it would be a great marketing tool if Provasic were an actual drug.

I'm a sucker for this one. ("The One-Armed Man") Love the train sequence. It does remind you of the days when Harrison Ford ruled Hollywood. . .then again, the new IJ film is coming out. . .

Overall rating is too high. I thought Ford was sleepwalking. Compare to the t.v.  show!

Good film, on a poar with Harrison Ford's other work like the Indiana Jones Trilogy (soon to be a foursome) and Air Force One, among others.

One of the best thrillers of the last 20 years and way better than the TV show. Full of iconic scenes esp the dam.

Hopelessly overrated. A white collar version of Stallone's First Blood, and just as believable. Everything seems telegraphed in, even the bus/train crash. I did not enjoy this film. And I love action movies.

Ford's acting ability and Jones' commanding screen presence combine for a great film in The Fugitive. Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford) is on the run after being falsely accused of murdering his wife. As he searches for the truth and seeks to prove his innocence, U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard is on his tail. Most memorable was Jones' performance as the cold and savvy Gerard, a character that would be revived five years following the release of The Fugitive in U.S. Marshals. Overall, The Fugitive is a good flick with lots of action and a decent plotline that has a limited element of suspense.

Released in 1993 and directed by Andrew Davis, The Fugitive is based on the television series of the same name. For the uninitiated, the story of the film involves Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) who is wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife. Kimble escapes on the way to prison and is now on the lam trying to solve the crime himself. On the hunt for Kimble is Deputy U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) who couldn't care less if Kimble is innocent or guilty as he simply has the job of finding him and letting the courts decide Kimble's fate. The pace of the film is quick and suspenseful as Kimble has no time to waste or chitchat as he searches for evidence and the one-armed man given that he is now a fugitive. As the story is nothing new, the key to the success of this film is the performances of both Ford and Jones, especially the latter who essentially steals practically every scene with his dry wit and frigid apathy which slowly thaws as the movie progresses. By far one of the best movies made from a tv show. The movie is powerful, riveting and a great action adventure film. Harrison Ford is terrific as Dr Richard Kimble a man accussed of murdering his wife. Tommy Lee Jones was perfect as Sam Gerard the U.S Marshall who took his job seriously and put out all stops to find Kimble. The movie hooks you from the beginning and doesn't let go.

Another great job by Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Kimble. The way he finally figures out who really killed his wife, while all the while avoiding the sheriff Tommy Lee Jones, makes the whole movie.

There were a few far-fetched scenes but with Tommy Lee Jones' role, he made the movie work. He deserved the Oscar.

This is one fantastic movie. Harrison Ford is the likable doctor who you of course want to believe. Tommy Lee Jones is the 'bad guy' U.S. Marshall who is actually just doing his job. The plot rocks, the action is taut, the acting is perfect. This is also one of those 'rated' movies the kids could watc. It has no sexual content, mild violence, and a medium amount of language. Go rent it tonight.

We already knew the plot before we ever watched this movie, so what they did was to make the part of the lawman more important, and play up the interaction between Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. The casting in this movie is great, they could not have chosen a better US Marshal than "the big dog" Tommy Lee Jones. He is fair, he is relentless, and, little by little, he becomes sympathetic. We knew the plot, but they still manage a few surprises along the way.

The Fugitive is a movie that needs to be pushed to the limit to get where it has to be. Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones try so hard to keep this movie going, but the movie just drags them through a band of different plots and storylines, and doesn't take them to their right places.

This is a super movie, with two super stars; Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford. The team tie up to make a great suspensful movie. This and the sequel, US Marshalls, are definite must sees.

All in all, The Fugitive was a strong movie. Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones both perform their roles well, and the movie keeps the viewer engrossed. The movie plows forward like a train, with lots of action. However, there are some parts that are not believable, such as how a wanted fugitive would stop to help sick/injured people.

I love this movie. There are few more satisfying plots than that of a wrongfully accused person who is vindicated and earns the respect of the hard-nosed cop trying to chase him down. The performances were all great, and the dialogue possessed a gritty "real-life" quality I found refreshing. One minor irritant: It is of course absurd that Ford would wait until after being convicted to track down the one-arm man via his mechanical arm. Not that he had to bother: the movie revealed that Chicago PD interviewed the murderer during their initial investigation. All they would have had to do is show Ford his picture and he would have identified him (the craggy-faced man only disguised himself with a wig for heaven's sake). (I also wonder how the murderer got 13 people to verify he was out of town when he wasn't, but no matter.) Also, since the lack of forced entry into the apartment was a big issue, the first question someone would have asked was if somebody might have had a key. Bing... Read more

I never get tired of this movie. A great story, good acting, and some unbelievable action - the train wreck is especially compelling. There is something riveting about stories which deal with the wrongfully accused - and the Fugitive is mesmerizing throughout. Probably my favorite Harrison Ford movie, and Tommy Lee Jones is superb as well. Also, you have to love the Simpsons episode which begins with Bart writing on the blackboard I will not tell people my homework was stolen by a one-armed man.

A good movie that is almost, but not quite, great. I like Harrison Ford in just about everything he does, and he's excellent as the wrongly accused doctor who hunts the one-armed man. There are some great action scenes (the train wreck is especially impressive), and there's enough suspense to keep you engaged throughout the entire movie. Not to mention Tommy Lee Jones, who is especially good as the U.S. Marshall who chases Ford. But, while this movie does everything well, it's not a movie that sticks with you when you leave the theater. Just good entertainment - nothing more or less.
