Not quite as good as the original it was still fantastic. The music chioces were wonderful while the animation was great. My favorite scenes were the Socceror's Apprentice and the one with the flamingos. IMAX Rules!

I've never understood the whole appeal of this film, so of course the "sequel" wasn't exactly thrilling to me.

This is a great movie. this one is better than the first. This is the update of the first Fantasia. I found a lot of the segments interesting. like The carnival of the animals. There was only one returning segment.

The first time I saw this movie on video, It was pretty good. The segments were excellent. My favorite segment was Rhapsody In Blue. and i thought it was good how they brung back The Sorcerer's Apprentice from the orignal Fantasia to the new one. the music is good and the animation is cool. this is a must-see for Disney fans. I love it all.

Although there're lots of new computer graphics in this imax, it's still not as good as the original Fantasia. I was quite disappointed at the fact that they used the Mickey Mouse section straight from the old Fantasia w/o editing it. At least I couldn't see the difference. It's alright to rent I guess, but as an imax I don't think it's worth paying big bucks for.

Fantasia has always been one of Disney's best movies. The 2000 version brought it to life. The sound quality was much better. The animation seems clearer. And the newly added scenes to the story kept your eyes glued to the screen. Kinda' like a Where's Waldo book.

The animation in this film is what saves it. It's complex and wonderfully executed. Unfortunately, we've all seen it before: the mountain of fire, the huge lumbering animals, the forest sprite zapping flowers, the gangly birds acting silly, the yellow-eyed demon, etc. What is truly amazing is how the artists continuously quote the first film while under the impression that they have created something new. Furthermore, the music in no way ties to the animation the way it did in the first film. "Pines of Rome" and "Piano Concerton No. 2" are extremely weak premises for flying(???) whales and the tale of the Steadfast Tin Soldier (which has been reworked into an overly-Disneyfied ending). Nor is the story development in any of the new sequences of the same caliber as before ("The Sorcerer's Apprentice" makes the others pale in comparison). And the patter between segments is some of the most annoying writing I've heard in a long time - anywhere. I suspect, after hearing that thi... Read more

Disney did it again. Anyone who liked the first Fantasia will love the second. It is an excellent mix of old and new and some great jazz added in. You really get into the storylines with the music. You feel for the whales and wish you could fly with them. You want to hug the little girl and tie up her terrible mother. My personal favorite- the flamingos. I have to say, and many people have agreed with me on this point, it's all about the flamingos!

I really enjoyed the movie. I found the animation very imaginative. Like Sava, I also found the Firebird Suite selection the most effecting and I left the theatre misty-eyed. That was a very moving and spiritual ending! It would be great to see what they could do with the last ten minutes of Mahler's symphony No.8 for the next Fantasia! Symbolizing the movements of planets and stars, it goes from soft choral sounds to great symphonic triumph! It really sounds like it could be the ending of a great great movie!

An amazing movie. There wasn't a single part I didn't enjoy. The firebird suite was the best. A great date movie.

For music and animation lovers, this is your movie! Each animated story was different and interesting and was matched perfectly with beautiful classical music. Watch it at the IMAX Dome theatre and you will see what I mean.

Pretty good. There are some new and original ideas. Some parts are a little long, but the music is great. The Chicago symphony is first rate.

Sort of boring. Got tired of the flying whales half way through. Didn't like animation to Rhapsody in Blue. Racist? Don't think children would like this either. Toy Story 2 is much better...Much
