One of the lesser Beatles albums produced to link with the film. I think the British release of this same album was better and had four (?) more songs than the US release.

Worth noting if only for its historical value. These are simple pop tunes, done to perfection by a real band of young musicians. The voices were unique then and still are today. There is more here than initially greets the ears.

A perfect example of there early sound. An album that deserves much more credit than it gets. This is the sound that changed the world.

This review refers to the British version of A Hard Days Night, which is currently available on cd worldwide. Other albums by The Beatles may have been more innovative, but for me, A Hard Days Night is the most fun to listen to. To the band, this was a soundtrack to the movie of the same name (my 2nd favorite movie ever, by the way), but if you look at the state of pop music in 1964, this album was a huge leap in quality. Everyone else had to play catch-up after this was released. In the scope of music history, this album is very underrated.

Their first masterpiece. Every song is a stunner. I Should Have Known Better is one of John's best love songs. I have to make a comment about another user here--Jackie72. Comparing Milli Vanilli to the Beatles will get you stoned by real music fans. Get off this page. Talk about songs with NO soul at all. I have no response to that. How can anyone? Go back to your Puff Daddy and Eminem CDs and leave the Beatles alone.

The 60s are over with deal with it. I cannot relate to music this old, it's corny and so outdated in today's world. It may have been cool for teenage teenie boppers back 40 years ago. Man has it been that long. The whole bowl haircut and clean cut goodie goodie image is so yesterday. These guys got at least a little creative in their later years, I guess if you are taking LSD and other heavy drugs you're going to be creative even if it involves bad singing and 3 chords on a guitar. I never got it off with that revolution stuff.

Not too many artists and groups can go around bragging that everyone of their tracks charted at one time or one way another. The Beatles do it with this album.

Hard Day's Night is typical Beatle greatness. You can call Elvis the King, Aretha the Queen of Soul, Michael the self-proclaimed king of pop, but the Beatles are undoubtedly the best and most influential group to ever live, hands down, no competition.

I read somewhere that George met his real-life wife-to-be whilst filming in the railway carriage in the movie (in which she appeared). The song in the scene - "I Should Have Known Better" - wasn't meant to be intellectual - it is youthful, energetic and fun, as is the album. Seeing the film when it came out in 1964 was a thrilling experience for virtually all of us back then. Doesn't this album's simplicity make you want to reach for your guitar, learn your 6 chords and start making music? It does me!

Don't tell me the Beatles don't have soul. If they don't have soul, I don't know who does. Certainly not who you listen to, Jackie72. And Lou, do you think some garage Band could play the guitar like George Harrison? No way. I especially love his solo in the middle of Can't Buy Me Love. I absolutley love I'm Happy Just to Dance With You. That one's a classic. The Beatles music will always live. I'll pass it on to my kids, they'll do the same to theirs, and so on. A Hard Day's Night is a great movie and album, anyone who gave it less than 5 stars needs to think again.

Give me a break. I heard this album twice and both times I had to turn it off by "Happy Just To Dance With You". Talk about songs with NO soul at all. Simplicity is taken to the extreme here, whereas most Beatle albums are very amatuer in the sense that a big achievement for the Beatles was playing tapes backwards, a la "Rain". I wish their music would just go away like Milli Vanilli.

Oh please, these songs are so simple, any local garage band can play them (if they even wanted to). I guess simplicity might work sometimes, but not here. What's the deal with "If I Fell" ?

Shut up already with the screams before the middle 8 of the song. The Beatles have no soul in their music, just simple 3 chord ditties.

It's a great album to listen to and sing after a long, hard day that will turn into a long, hard night.

A Hard Day's Night is the best of the Beatles early(pre-Rubber Soul)albums and ranks right up there with their later classics. Every song is superb and it contains a good mixture of great rockers such as the title song,"Can't Buy me Love",and "Tell Me Why",and beautiful ballads such as "If I Fell" and "And I Love Her." The later is arguably McCartney's best love song. The amazing thing about this album is that it was written on the run under a tight movie deadline and while Beatlemania raged around them. The Beatles didn't have the luxury of having time for lengthy studio experimentation as they did for their later works, but they still did an excellent job. This was the album where their musical genius really became apparent and set the stage for what was to come.
