All Zep albums were great. Loved the mix of real hard rock (Black Dog) and soft acoustic songs (Going to California). And, of course, the all-time favorite, Stairway to Heaven. One of their best albums.

Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. It's hard to argue with Rolling Stone magazine. They ranked him at #9 on their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. Zep were the best of their era.

IMO, this is Led Zep's best LP collection of great songs, being the only LP in which all songs on it are their most widely recognized, versus "In Through the Out Door" for example, which offers only a few greats on one LP.  Being a huge John "Bonzo" Bonham fan, this LP offers "When the Levee Breaks", the tail end of "Stairway to Heaven", "Black Dog" and "Rock and Roll", which make me happy.  Of course, for truly great Bonzo, I have to jump from CD to CD to hear to Kashmir, Good Times, Bad Times" and "Dazed and Confused" to name a few.

Even by Zeppelin standards, which aren't high anyway, this is an overtly sentimental and simplistic album. Stairway to Heaven is just pure schmaltz.

This was Led Zeppelins' best album. Although it does not match the sheer power and musical breakthroughs of their first album- its offers much. 'Black Dog' rocks, and 'Rock and Roll' thumps along. 'Going to California' offers a nice acoustic Zep- while 'Stairway to Heaven' is just great. Side two is even better-'Misty Mountain Hop' and 'Four Sticks' are excellent, while 'When the Levee Breaks' brings a stunning close to the Album.

Not the best album but a necessary one to help fill out the collection. . .the all-time party-killing song "Stairway to Heaven" along with other memorable songs make it a must-own for most music fans. . .oh, the recent 'devil music' rant is simply hilarious. . .1950 called and it wants its anti-rock zealotry back. . .

One of the best rock albums -ever-.

From start to finish to sideways, IV is a powerful musical masterpiece.

Fierce. Tender. Mystical. Earthy. Soul-wrenching, bone crushing. Perfect.

This album is scary good. If you grew up on techno computer aided wizardry, rap, speed metal, etc. then this will sound like a dated rough rock album. This is hard nosed power trio blues that is amazingly deep and soulful. "Stairway to Heaven" was played to overkill in the 70's and 80's but listening to it again now you understand why is was so popular. Every song is good on this album and the flow moves from hard rocking to very soft and melodic on songs like "Going to California" and "The Battle of Evermore". It ends with pure delta blues "When the Levee Breaks" (who would have imagined the relationship to New Orleans 34 years later). Page is a master with the guitar and he is underappreciated for his work in the studio. This was recorded with live playing and moving microphones to various locations for effects. No computer enhancement here they had barely been invented at the time.

A really plastic piece of recording. The poor production, coupled with grating vocals, amateurish drumming, near nonexistant bass playing and Page's irritating guitar timbre all add up to a big fat ZERO!!!!

Can folk, folklore, R&R; and "magick" transport you to the land of hobbits and heavy metal? Hell yeah. Feel the superhero vibe of a confident band that captured rhythm, hook, emotion, technical brilliance and big-room production, conjuring up the mystical best of their best. Full of bombast and inhabiting a world of its own, it's almost a clinic on how to lay down a groove to a hard-rock riff. "Stairway to Heaven" is played to death but you can't overlook its impact. Take a nap "acemanly". You seem just a slight bit cranky to me.

Led Zeppelin IV mixes rock and roll the blues and folk rock, it is truly an epic record. The album features the infamous stairway to heaven which slowly builds from a quiet ballad to a full out hard rocking front of guitar riffs and loud solos.Other excellent songs on this album are Black Dog,Rock and Roll,The Battle of Evermore and the bluesy When the Levee Breaks.Led Zeppelin IV is definately considered to be a classic rock and roll album.

Best Led Zepplin album. They hit the high note, with Goin to California, the unbelieveable drumming by Bonham in When the Levee Breaks, the always great Black Dog, and of course, the immortal song that is one of the best, a beautifully crafted masterpiece, Stairway To Heaven.

How can you not give this album 5 stars?!? This album served as a template to other masterpieces such as other 5 star albums like "Appettite For Destruction", "License To Ill". Heck, even Garth Brooks loved this album and he's got good tunes as well. Bonzo was very creative when he stuck microhpones at different heightened intervals to get that echo with his drums on 'Levee Breaks'.

A girly singing with Robbie " i got more hair curls than you" on this record sink zep. Listen to drudge of drumming on "Black Dog", just ruins it! Way over rated by fans, Stairway To Hell more like it, get over them! John Paul Jones is the best musician of this group. The untitled album is dull, cover to cover. The gate fold leaves a lot to imagine. LZ III best album cover! First album won a Grammy Award and is the classic album. Still favorite album is LZ II, the first record of this band and bought this in 8th grade in 1970 before it KOOL to like LZ!!! Rock n' Roll is for TEENAGER, not for grade skool punks.

This album set the standards for all those rock bands that followed zep. Their music has so much texture to it, listen beyond the basic rhythms, hear the subtleties of the music, don't just judge it on Stairway. Appreciate how it was recorded. The very best of British innovative music.Listen to music today and the influences are there.

Listen to this CD if you need help getting up early on a Monday morning. "Black Day" has story beats and lyrics that will keep you guessing (silly willy woman?). "When The Love Breaks" has excellent drum work by John Bonhom(sp?) and if you can't appreciate the beauty of the "Stairway to Heaven," than shame on you.

Led Zep - you either love 'em or hate 'em. This is their best known & probably best respected album, and it might not have the sheer passion of their 1st, or the bad-ass rock of their 2nd, but I reckon - yeah- it's their best ever. 'Stairway...' has been done to death but you can't deny it's a brilliant song, & the first two tracks show that Zep can (and did) wipe the floor with any other rock group. The other songs are all great & I love the sound of 'Four Sticks' - nothing else like it. And 'When the Levee Breaks' - what a drum sound! A wall of sound before the term was invented. A classic, and rightly so!
