. . .but you need the right Gin. Bad gin can ruin this simple yet classic drink. . .it's a good and safe bet for those not really familiar with mixed drinks. (And I must include myself- my family/tribe were whiskey and beer people) Thus- I became fond of these while ordering one for the first time years ago- because I didn't know anything else. . . Still satisfies after all these years. . .

Right up there with a rum and coke. Especially if you get the tonic water with a hint of lime, which gives a settle lime flavor but not overwhelming. And of course garnish with a lime wedge.

Hate the taste. Hate the name. Hate that so many people drink them and I just dont get it..... If your gonna drink, first of all, dont drink this. Second, take a cab home. Think of the children!

With Hendrick's gin and a cucumber slice on the rim, this cocktail can be simply divine. However, with low-budget gin it just tastes like pine needles and an obligatory lime squeeze. This is a drink-of-choice for those trying to eat healthier since the tonic does not pack on calories the way a soda or juice does.

Ahh, drinks of the jarhead, part two. The guy who set off the fire extinguishers at the barracks loved these things...

Gin and Tonics are easy to drink. Almost too easy. They go down like Sprite, so before you know it you've had three and are pretty buzzed, watch out with this one!

The best drink there is, in my opinion, as long as you bought your gin from the top shelf--in a bar ask for your brand by name, instead of letting the bartender pick.  I mix one part gin (say, Tanqueray) to one part tonic, over ice with a large slice of lime.  I don't usually squeeze the lime because I feel it's a bit sour and fouls the flavor of the gin; just let it sit for a minute before you sip and the citrus will seep in.  It is crisp, refreshing, and not filling, and far from having a bad aftertaste, it actually cleanses the palate.  A great drink for during or after dinner.

A fine drink on a summer day. Great for lounging in the sun, and with a nice bite and counter bite from the gin and the tonic. Add a hint of bitters for a subtler drink.

12 ounce glass filled with ice. One jigger of Tanquery Regular Gin. Fill with Schwepps Tonic water. Stir lightly. Top with a lime wedge. Add a bit of Rose's sweetened lime juice or just squeeze a lime wedge into the G&T; for a bit more flavor.

G&T are very good if you use good ingredients, but they taste like what I imagine dry cleaning fluid is like if you use crap. I use Beefeaters or Tanqueray with Schwepp's tonic. Mondo lime and lotsa ice. A great hot Summer day drink.

I can't drink it , can't smell it, don't even want to look at that clear drink with a twist of lime floating at the time. I cringe just thinking about it..due to a past (unwise) decision to drink shots of Vodka chased by gin and tonics. In fact, I am experiencing a gag reflex right now as I write this..

They are good. I like them. Women like them. The more gin, the better.

This drink always gets me naked. I have scared a lot of girls off because of this but got my current girlfriend because of it. The tonic and lime really take away the gin's bite, making the drink taste pretty good.

This is a fabulous, standard, all-purpose mixed drink. It is light, making it good before or after food, and in great quantity. I highly suggest Bombay Blue Saphire Gin, it's worth the extra money.

I love a good G & T. It is a great clear cocktail that doesn't make you feel fruity or full. Gin is a good drunk and despite the hang over the next day, it provides for a great night.
